Active recreation is more of a permanent way of life than a fleeting impulse. There is a type of people for whom a vacation without adventure is wasted time. Perhaps one of them.
Before we start discussing outdoor activities, let's understand its definition. For some, active recreation is trekking in Nepal, but for those who were born there it is routine everyday life. Everything is relative.
The explanatory dictionary gives us the following definition of active recreation: “Free time associated with exploring new things and active physical activity.” This is where we will start from in the future, the key words here are physical activity and exploring new things.
1. Diving.
Diving fits perfectly into the definition of active recreation. This is also a study of something new - underwater world and physical activity.
Phuket is surrounded by many islands, and some of them are considered some of the best diving in the world. Dive tours to the Phi Phi and Racha islands depart every day throughout the year.
More experienced divers will be interested in diving safaris in the area of the Similan Archipelago and Surin Island. Best time for diving from November to May, during this time you can see whale sharks. The cost of a one-day program with three dives varies from 120 to 150 USD.
