I scoured the entire Internet and still haven’t found an answer to some of them. So I’ll tell you how everything was on my journey)

When purchasing tickets from low-cost airlines, be prepared that you will only be able to take carry-on luggage of the specified size and weight. You will have to pay extra for luggage separately.

The dimensions and weight of hand luggage must be clarified in advance on the airline’s website if you do not want to pay extra for 1 extra cm of bag at the airport, which can be equal to half the ticket price

The size of hand luggage that an Air Baltic passenger is allowed to take on board:
1 hand luggage (55x40x20 cm)
+ 1 personal item (30x40x10 cm) with a Basic or Premium ticket. Personal items include: hand bags, laptops, tax-free bags, camera bags, umbrellas.

The weight of hand luggage and personal items is no more than 8 kg.



Passengers have many questions regarding hand luggage on Air Baltic:

With the Business Smart ticket - up to 3 bags weighing up to 60 kg, and with the Basic ticket you pay about 25 euros per bag if you pay at the time of purchasing the ticket, about 35 kg if you buy through third-party agencies, the same amount if you pay for luggage in advance, but after purchasing a ticket, about 40 euros when you check in at the airport counter and about 60 euros at the gate.

Baggage will have to be paid at each stage if your transit is more than 24 hours. Passengers with an Economy Smart ticket can carry up to 1 piece of baggage weighing up to 20 kg free of charge. If the employee decides that your bags or backpacks exceed the permitted limits, you will be asked to register and return them for a price of 50 EUR.

At the request of the airport representative, the passenger is obliged to place his belongings in the baggage measuring container located at the airport. The bag should fit easily and completely into the measuring container without pressing. Can I take a guitar to the salon?

No, the dimensions of the guitar exceed the maximum dimensions allowed for hand luggage at AirBaltic (55x40x23 cm), so it cannot be transported in hand luggage in the cabin.

If you want to transport your guitar in the cabin, you need a special ticket, which can be purchased at AirBaltic ticket offices along with an adult ticket. A guitar with an air ticket purchased online will not be accepted on board.

Carrying liquids in hand luggage

The following restrictions apply to the amount of liquid:

1. Liquids can only be transported in containers no larger than 100 ml.
2. These containers must be delivered to the airport in a single, transparent, resealable plastic bag, which itself must not exceed a capacity of 1 liter (approximately 20x20 cm). The contents of the package must fit comfortably and the package must be sealed.

Baggage fees are non-refundable. If the flight is operated by another airline (the flight number begins with SK or any other non-BT code, or the airline code is shown in parentheses next to the flight number), then different baggage rules may apply. If you book your ticket on airBaltic.com and know that your baggage will exceed airBaltic's limits, pay a flat fee of 50 EUR for an additional 10 kg of baggage per passenger, instead of paying much more at the airport! The excess baggage fee at the airport will be EUR 15 per kilogram per flight segment. This means that in one segment you will have to pay 150 EUR for 10 kg of excess baggage. Baggage transportation

The size of hand luggage depends entirely on the type of passenger ticket and the privileges associated with each of them. However, there is a general rule for ticket holders of all categories - no more than 8 kilograms of the total weight of all things in the cabin.

The luggage that people take with them on a plane is usually divided into personal items and hand luggage.

According to the regulations, personal belongings include PCs, handbags, bags for cameras and laptops, umbrellas, etc.

• If a passenger has a regular or premium ticket, then according to Air Baltic rules he can take with him only one personal item and one standard-sized carry-on baggage.
• If a passenger flies in business class, two carry-on luggage is allowed into the cabin, but still one personal item.

If, during baggage check-in, employees find out that the dimensions of a passenger’s hand luggage or personal belongings exceed the norms, he will be required to pay an additional fee of 40 euros. If this situation is detected when the passenger boards, he will have to pay 20 euros more for checking in an additional seat in the cabin, reserved specifically for his hand luggage.

It is strictly prohibited to carry any types of liquids exceeding 100 ml in hand luggage, unless they were purchased in duty-free shops at the airport in compliance with these rules adopted by airports in the Schengen area.

Baggage fees are also determined using the passenger ticket. The general rule for checked baggage is no more than twenty kilograms per person. Some passengers have baggage transportation privileges:

• The most privileges are available to business class ticket holders. It allows the passenger to take luggage with a total weight not exceeding forty kilograms. There will be no charge for it.
• Free baggage is also available to those who have purchased a premium ticket. For them, the baggage allowance is halved - to 20 kg per person.
• Passengers who have purchased a regular economy class ticket do not have free baggage privileges. The price varies depending on the time and moment of ordering the service. The best time to buy baggage space is at the time of purchasing your ticket. Then the payment will be 19.99 euros (if the passenger makes a round-trip flight, he must pay this amount twice).

The maximum free baggage weight can be 80 kg if the passenger is a PINS VIP member.

AirBaltics airline declines responsibility for damage to personal property located in suitcases or bags during the flight, as it always warns to transport particularly fragile items in hand luggage.
