UAE budget holiday. When is the best time to vacation in the UAE, what time of year and where?

After almost a year and a half without a normal vacation, I realized that I urgently needed a vacation, and not just somewhere in another country, but at sea. Before this I had successful experience independent rest in Hong Kong and Bali (which I hope I will talk about in other articles), so I decided not to take a tour, but also book a hotel, buy tickets and get a visa on my own.

After Egypt and Turkey were closed for flights, there was little choice left: I really wanted to visit Thailand, but, unfortunately, award tickets for Aeroflot miles were not sold there. Therefore, the choice fell on the UAE, namely the emirate of Dubai, especially since my friend flew there the previous summer, from whom I hoped to learn useful information about the country and all sorts of nuances that for some reason are not written about in review articles and travel reviews. I didn't plan to meet in the UAE New Year, because hotel prices during this period soared to cosmic heights in this already very dear city(and with the fall of the ruble, Dubai became astronomically expensive for Russian tourists). Therefore, I bought tickets a week later than the New Year, when the main stream of compatriots was already returning to their homeland. Let me make a reservation that at the time of my trip 1 dirham (AED) was equal to 20 rubles.

After successfully purchasing a ticket, I went to the well-known hotel booking site and began to sort offers based on reviews, ratings, location and other amenities. It should be noted that hotels in Dubai are very expensive. For the money that I paid for a 2* hotel, in Asia I could easily rent a 5* room. My choice fell on the Holiday Inn Express Internet City, located near the foot of Palm Jumeirah and not very far from the bay.

My Holliday Inn Express

The hotel was attracted by the rating, which was higher than 8 on booking, the location, transport accessibility(you can walk to the metro station, as well as the tram stop), which was important for me, since I did not plan to use a taxi. The hotel also had free Wi-Fi and breakfast included. What was disappointing was the additional taxes and service fees that were not included in the room price (10% tax, 10% tourist tax, 10% service charge). The real price was 30% higher than the one stated on the booking! Somehow it's not very fair. Well, okay, the booking conditions in other hotels were not very different. The money is debited from the card one day before arrival, so on the website I could see how the cost of my vacation in rubles increased daily.

When the hotel was finished, I took care of the visa. At first, the idea arose to also do its own design in order to save money. But, as it turned out, the visa is not issued through the embassy, only through tourism companies. The visa to the UAE is electronic; to obtain it, you need a “sponsor” in the country of holiday - a company that vouches for you (as far as I understand). For passengers Emirates airlines It’s simple - the airline itself acts as a sponsor for them. I was flying with Aeroflot, so I decided to apply for a visa in visa center Fortunately, you can submit documents, pay and get a visa via the Internet without going outside. All you need is a scan of your passport and a color photograph. The visa cost me 7,000 rubles.

What an independent traveler needs to do before visiting Dubai is to download a city map in 2GIS to your smartphone. Surprisingly, this application offers very detailed map Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman with all public transport routes and bus stops. For an independent traveler who tries not to spend money on a taxi, this is just a godsend. Unfortunately, the application does not have a map of Abu Dhabi, which would be very useful, but I hope it will be added in the future.

I also recommend purchasing tickets online in advance for attractions - the observation deck at Burj Khalifa (At the Top) and one of the water parks. But I don’t recommend taking a ticket to the Dubai Mall Aquarium; there’s absolutely nothing to see there.

And then they died down new year holidays, early in the morning I went to Sheremetyevo and from there on a direct flight to Dubai. At the airport of departure, I advise you to buy a small amount of cash for rubles, because upon arrival at the airport you will not have time for this, fortunately the exchange rate is not very different from the official one.

In January, the temperature in Dubai is around 22-27 degrees, so it is recommended to take off a warm jacket at the airport and put it in your luggage before check-in. Upon arrival, the longest procedure is going through border control, where they check your visa and also do a retinal scan (and they do this from a fairly large distance: you will just need to look at the pole with a camera behind the border guard), this procedure is not quick, the border guards They work slowly and the queue can last for an hour.

Having dealt with all the formalities, I hurried to the metro station, where I bought a Nol Silver transport card, and went to my hotel, which took about an hour to get to without transfers. You can get an idea of the ultra-modern Dubai Metro, which operates without drivers, from the following video:

Ride the Dubai Metro

From Dubai Internet City to Mall of the Emirates

I’m also posting the metro map:

The cost of the trip depends on the distance: from the airport to the hotel it cost 7.5 AED, the minimum cost was 3 AED. This card can also be used to travel by bus and tram. But to ride the monorail along Palm Jumeirah, you will need to buy a separate ticket, which costs 25 AED round-trip. You can also use the Nol card to take a regular bus to Abu Dhabi.

It’s better not to change dollars at the airport, because the exchange rate there is unfavorable, plus they charge a commission. It’s better to do this in UAE Exchange exchangers, this is what they look like:

They are found in many shopping centers and subway lobbies.

There are a huge number of expats living in the UAE, mainly from Asia, so English language is the main language in the UAE. Almost everyone here speaks English, even Arabs, maybe with the exception of Russians and Chinese tourists(that’s why organized tourism is so popular among them). The difficulty is that all these people from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Pakistan and India speak English with accents, and for an inexperienced Russian ear it can be very difficult to understand at first what they are saying to you. You have to ask again several times until you get it.

Having safely reached the hotel and checked into the room, I discovered that although the room was double, it was prepared for one person: one bottle of water, one teaspoon on the table (although there were two mugs). Plus, the shower didn’t work, I had to call the reception and call a repairman, fortunately he fixed everything, and the sheets had holes. Overall, the impression of the room was satisfactory - Holiday Inn Express fully lived up to its name.

After resting a bit, I went to explore the surroundings. As it turned out, there were many different cafes nearby, which I was very happy about, because the only food at the hotel was breakfast. Having tried several, I can immediately recommend two small chain cafes:

where they serve pizzas and salads in huge portions (average bill 100 AED for two),

and London fish&chips -

Mall of the Emirates from inside

It should be noted that I liked this shopping gallery more than others in Dubai. It is easy to navigate, it is quite spacious, there is no such crowd as in the Dubai Mall and there is a Carrefour hypermarket.

The closest beach to it is Jumeirah beach, which is a 15-minute walk from the metro.

Forward to Burj Al Arab

Across the road from the beach there is a small shady park where you can relax with children, and next to the bus stop they sell freshly prepared delicious ice cream, and the seller there is a Russian-speaking girl - be sure to check it out.

Dubai Tram does the same indelible impression, like the metro:

Knowledge Village tram station

The train consists of 7 sections connected by a through passage. When entering a stop, do not forget to attach your Nol card to calculate the fare, and when exiting at a stop, you must attach the card again to write off the funds. Special employees are vigilantly monitoring this. You can take the tram to a small area of skyscrapers on the coast - Dubai Marina. You need to come here at night, because with the onset of dusk this area comes to life.

Here you can leisurely stroll along the promenade along the canal, ride on Dou boats, swim to the other side on a water bus, wander around the Marina Mall and, of course, take unforgettable photographs.

Of course, the main attraction of Dubai is the most... tall building Burj Khalifa skyscraper ever built by man. It is impossible to visit Dubai without at least once going up to the observation deck of this engineering marvel.

But still, the main highlight of the center of Dubai is dancing fountain! It was he who made an indelible impression on me:

The Dubai Fountain - Con te partirò (Time to Say Goodbye)

The feeling from it cannot be conveyed either by photography or video recording - it needs to be felt personally.

But what can really disappoint you is the aquarium in the Dubai Mall. You can admire it from the shopping gallery; it’s definitely not worth buying a ticket to take a photo in the tunnel under it. The ticket will also take you to the top deck of the aquarium, where they will show you how the fry are bred and the fish are fed. Even higher is a small zoo.

For more reasonable money, it is better to visit the Moscow Oceanarium at VDNH; you will be much more impressed.

The next day I had a water park planned. And not some Wild Wadi, but himself. Although after visiting the water park I somewhat regretted my choice, I still had to Wild Wadi take. I bought my ticket in advance, so I couldn’t guess the weather: although it was sunny, it wasn’t very hot, about +22.

From my hotel you can walk along the tram tracks to the monorail to Palm Jumeirah. You need to buy a ticket for the monorail separately; this attraction costs 25 AED round trip, and on the way back the ticket will be taken away from you, so you won’t even be able to keep it as a souvenir. The trip itself lasts 5 minutes, if you are interested, you can watch the video.

Monorail ride on Palm Jumeirah

The train arrives at the station located in the water park itself, the entire territory is visible on the right hand:

Aquaventure water park area

Because of this, it is tempting to go right at the exit. But there is only a parking lot there for buses. To get to the water park, you need to turn left and go in the direction of the hotel. By the way, there is a stop here excursion buses Big Bus. On the way to the water park you will come across quite a few boutiques, as well as this wonderful gold vending machine:

Would you like some gold to go?

You need to show the ticket purchased and printed in advance to the girl at the entrance, then you won’t have to stand in line at the ticket office, she will immediately indicate where to go. It turns out that in this water park a locker is not included in the price of admission (very strange, however). You can take one for two, a locker costs 40 AED. You will have two bracelets on your hands: one for the entrance, the other for the locker. Make sure that they are well glued, because during skating the bracelet may tear (which actually happened to me, fortunately I noticed it in time and prevented the loss of the bracelet). Also, you don't necessarily have to go to the nearest locker room to the left of the entrance, which may be packed. There are also changing rooms at the far end of the water park, you can easily walk there along the paths, and at the same time explore the water park.

Of course, the biggest impression is made by the slide "": you slide down at an angle of 75 degrees from a height of 28 m and fly in a pipe under a pool with sharks. At the top there is usually a queue of the same daredevils as you. It is there, at the top of Neptune's tower that fear begins to creep through you...

Another test awaits the most reckless and fearless in the very far corner water park - Poseidon Tower.

Tower of Poseidon

Having climbed to the very top, you will find two capsules that will shoot you almost vertically down - this is “Poseidon’s Revenge”. I am attaching a short video, not filmed by me, solely to demonstrate the process:

Poseidon's Revenge Atlantis Dubai

After watching this video I wanted to ride the slide again!

Otherwise, the water park offers measured rest in the hot sun. The downside of my visit was that it was cold. The water in the slides and in the main river was not heated; after half an hour, teeth began to chatter in the water.

When going to the UAE, I decided to definitely visit the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi. You can get to the capital of the Emirates by regular buses, one of which - E100 - comes from the center of Dubai, and the other, more convenient for me, - E101 - from the Ibn Batuta metro station. By the way, at this metro station there is also an interesting shopping center - Ibn Batuta Mall. It is interesting because it consists of halls decorated to resemble the countries visited by the great Arab traveler Ibn Batuta, after whom the station is named.

Ibn Batuta Mall, Egyptian Hall

Ibn Batuta Mall, Chinese hall

Payment on the bus is made using Nol cards, a one-way ticket costs 25 AED, so make sure that you have 50 dirhams on the card (the card is applied at the beginning of the trip and at the end, at the exit). It takes an hour and a half to get to the capital of the emirates, and it is advisable to get up early.

You arrive at the bus station, whose interior is very similar to its counterparts in Russia, especially for the restroom.

To get around the city by public transport, you need to buy a separate card, Nol is not valid in Abu Dhabi. It is possible to buy a temporary card right at the station, which costs 2 AED and put at least 10 AED on it. A trip from the bus station to the mosque will cost 2 dirhams one way.

When leaving the bus station, an unpleasant surprise awaited me - a police patrol stopped me and asked me to show my Emirates ID. During a long conversation with law enforcement officers, I was asked to show my passport, visa, or their electronic versions on my phone. To be honest, I didn’t take any documents with me on the trip, so I frantically rummaged through my phone. The impression of the capital of the Emirates was completely spoiled. Therefore, dear travelers, do not repeat my mistake. Carry a printed visa and a copy of your passport with you.

The difficulty of moving around Abu Dhabi by public transport is that the stops are not marked on any map, even Google does not know about the Abu Dhabi bus network. But near the bus terminal at the stop there is a schedule and a picture of a mosque with a caption that we need route 54. You need to exit from the western side of the mosque (a stop named after a hospital).

The mosque is truly magnificent: a huge courtyard, the largest carpet in the world and amazingly beautiful chandeliers are amazing.

After visiting the mosque, I took a ticket for the Big Bus Tours and went towards Yas Island, because I wanted to see theme park Ferrari. Now I understand that I shouldn’t have done this, because there was half a day left and it would have been better to take this bus to the city center. Or, if you really wanted to see the theme park, you should just take a taxi, it would be cheaper.

By the way, Big Bus Tours buses also run around Dubai; a ticket for the whole day costs about 260 AED. If you have a free day, I recommend it bus tour around the city, especially since the audio guide includes Russian.

Another place worth visiting in Dubai is the Global Village exhibition and entertainment complex. You can get to it from Union metro station by bus 103, the fare will cost 10 AED.

The complex opens at 16:00 and is open until 1 am.

Once we were traveling on a train from Moscow with a young man. He said that he vacationed in Dubai for about $800 for 10-11 days. Then this question did not bother me. And now I would like to visit this country, but we don’t have a lot of money. I would like to know if anyone has traveled to the Emirates to inexpensive hotels? Interested beach holiday, at least 10 days. The hotel is not necessarily on the shore. Thank you

800 - for one? For this money you can relax in a city hotel. More precisely, not to relax, but to spend time in Dubai. City hotels are not suitable for a beach holiday, but free shuttles run from them to the beaches. If the shuttle schedule is not convenient for you (it picks up people at lunch), you can take a taxi; there are beautiful Toyota Camrys with air conditioning, relatively inexpensive and on the meter. Generally speaking, holidays in Dubai are specific. Basically, city hotels are filled with people who plan to spend a significant portion of their time shopping. It’s not that there’s so much shopping there, but that’s the tradition. Those. It is of interest to you to be in a rather large and noisy city during your vacation; you do not expect that there will be any animators, all-inclusive meals, etc. Beach hotels in Dubai are luxurious, but for people with means. We really liked Dubai, we knew where we were going. We are planning again in October.
People advised Ajman - I don’t know. I didn’t really like Sharjah (the emirate neighboring Dubai), it seemed a bit boring, but we weren’t on vacation, we were just passing through. But if you have small children, there is definitely nothing to do in the city in Dubai, or in a beach hotel, or in Sharjah.

Really. The question is what do you get for this money. There are hotels in Dubai as city ones, i.e. located in the city, on the streets, without territory and with swimming pools on the roofs, and beach ones, located some distance from the city, on the beach, in the Jumeirah area. Beach hotels in Dubai are good, but quite expensive. I think for 800 per person 11/12 days will be unrealistic. Staying in a city hotel is not quite a beach hotel. Those. City hotels are quite shabby from intensive use, full of a variety of people (I have never seen such a variety of facial textures as in Dubai - yellow, black, etc.), including our “shuttles”. No one at the hotel will entertain you or be interested in you at all, as, say, in Turkey or Egypt. The hotel doesn’t have much infrastructure either - well, a sauna, a pool on the roof. Free hotel the bus is coming to the beach, say, around 9 am, and back around 1 pm. Those who didn’t hide, it’s not my fault - they go to the beach by taxi or city bus, in my opinion, No. 8 goes along Jumeirah Beach Road to the center. On the beach, however (both paid and free), there is volleyball and beach football. Shower. But sunbeds and umbrellas cost money. That is, it is assumed that you do not intend to stay at the hotel at all, there is nothing to do there, and upon arriving from the beach you go to wander around the city. Walk, wander around shops, bars (according to interests), etc. You can go on vacation for 2 weeks for $500 per person, but I’m afraid it will be a collective farmer’s house in Dubai. When we went for the first time, experienced acquaintances frightened us with the high cost of food - what do you mean, like for $15 - just to look at dinner. And for dinner - from 50. We, in general, people without big complaints, had dinner in Golden Fork (fast food) - 7-10 $ large dishes, meat, seafood, or in eateries where some local people eat, delicious, clean, fried meat with vegetables and fresh juice $4 per person. But in Dubai there is no limit to prices. Those. if you want to spend more on vacation and food, in my opinion, there are no limits at all. (Once we even took Thai Tom Yam soup - also tasty and inexpensive, in general). Taxi is inexpensive (compared to Moscow). Well, what else... Alcohol is expensive and only in hotel bars; we took so much with us at Dubai duty free that we took some back. We went to the Irish Village in Dubai, drank Guinness, ate pork, Guinness, if I'm not mistaken, cost 6 dollars a mug. They didn’t take sun loungers on the beach, they lay on the sand, it’s white and soft, very pleasant. Here on the forum someone said - demon paid beach filthy. Bad luck. Ours was clean, they cleaned it constantly, and in general there were no cigarette butts lying around. Towels (beach) are provided at the hotel and changed every day. We visited both the free beach and the paid Jumeirah Beach, but we didn’t get to Al Mamzar, so we want to go there this time. Don’t believe that the water in the ocean is lifeless; if you dive with goggles, you can see small sandy stingrays at the bottom.
SUMMARY. For 800 dollars, if you want to count travel allowances here, the hotel will be very simple, 2 stars, if the travel allowances are separate - the usual Emirati three rubles. Both are in the city. Or a beach hotel in the neighboring emirate of Sharjah, but I can’t say anything about Sharjah. You will have the same sea and beach in all cases, you will get there from a 2,3, 4 star hotel, you will go yourself or they will take you.
p.s. All of the above is my experience and does not claim to be the ultimate truth.

Another piece of advice, if you may: take a 2-3 star hotel in the city ($25-30 per person per night, including breakfast and lunch, you can have dinner in the Deira area, there is a cafe there with real prices: 13 dirhams per person: you take a tray and fill yourself with food, the choice is normal, you take as much as you want, we sometimes took one tray, stuffed to capacity, for two of us and ate at the hotel!). My family and I were in Spectrum**, it’s not a “fountain”, but you can live: the room has air conditioning, TV, a shared bathroom, the staff is quite polite. Or COMFORT INN***, it is more expensive and, accordingly, better. If you drive a car, rent a car (a Russian license is good, $25 per day for a new “Queen” or “Civic”, gasoline is pennies, the rules are as follows -same, but the drivers are very polite to each other). We always take a rent-a-car, we have traveled all over the country, we do not depend on the hotel bus to the beach, in addition, it is better to go to the paid beach (Al Mamzar, 30 dirhams per car), you can go to Indian Ocean, in Abu Dhabi, etc. In general, if you are interested in my advice, write, I will share my experience, economical holiday in the UAE.

Just returned from the UAE. We were in Sharjah Beach Hotel Sharjah 3*, $400 per week on a half board basis. But this is natural summer prices. Although we probably wouldn’t go there for a lot of money. The advantages of the hotel - it is located right on the shore, sun loungers, umbrellas, mattresses, towels are free, large swimming pool, good rooms, we got a 2-room suite with a sea view for three people with a child, although I knew that some rooms overlook the road and was ready to change the room. Nice beach, sand, pure water, swimming is a pleasure. The food is quite varied, with themed dinners in the evenings. Free buses 4 times a day to Dubai, 2 times to Sharjah. In my opinion, it is better to live in beach hotel, unless, of course, you are going not only to the shops. In the morning we got up, swam, sunbathed and calmly went to Dubai. We took a 12 o'clock bus and walked there until the evening. As a rule, we returned by taxi. There are plenty of them there good cars. Drive 20 minutes without traffic jams. Only once, around 7 pm, we drove for about 40 minutes in traffic jams. It seems to me that Sharjah is the best option if you need inexpensive holiday on the sea plus proximity to Dubai. If you are looking for luxury hotels with beautiful grounds, this is not the place. If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer.

Planning independent trip to United United Arab Emirates, it must be remembered that this is a special strange thing, even among the countries of the Arab world. Strict requirements for strict execution visa regime, restricts entry into the country unwanted people. Even when applying for a visa through a travel agency, there are cases of unmotivated refusals. Moreover, no one will explain the reason for the refusal. And, if, say, after some long time, you submit documents to the visa department again, rest assured, you will be refused again. That is, for some reason, your identity is not desirable to enter the Emirates.

However, some people have reasons to apply for a visa on their own. This is where some difficulties arise. Some are surmountable, some are not. Let’s say it’s impossible for Israeli citizens to get to the UAE. This applies to Russians dual citizenship. Also, if you were once in the UAE, and you had problems complying with the law of this country. In this case, even if you subsequently managed to somehow change your personal data and obtain an entry visa, then passport control won't be able to get in. The fact is that the iris of your eyes, already in the computer database, does not indicate your presence in the country. To overcome this obstacle, you need to lose both eyes. And get to know the country by touch. Joke. But this is by the way.

I’ll try to give a short list of what those who need it for some reason need to know. My story is not an instruction to which you can refer. This is just a rough description of your actions. And, if your intentions are serious, you will have to work through this issue yourself.

You will deal with this issue yourself, or entrust the company, to save time, prepare additional documents, in addition to the passport and photographs.

If you and your spouse have different last names, be sure to have a notarized translation of your marriage certificate. The Emirates, although a country with progressive views, is still Muslim. And Sharia law has not been abolished here. You will need this document when crossing the border. Checking you into one hotel room without it is also impossible.

If you plan to travel with children, be sure to ensure that the children are included in your spouse's visa. There is another difficulty regarding lovely ladies under 30 who are not married. Most likely, you will have to get a visa through a travel agency. There were no such restrictions 10 years ago. Alas, girls from Russia and the CIS countries, your reputation has been spoiled. For the currently fashionable trend of living in a so-called civil marriage, the Emirates have their own answer. They haven’t “heard” about it and won’t admit it. So, civilians, in the UAE, you are absolutely strangers, and you can very realistically fall under Sharia law. And lawyers in the Emirates are also completely Sharia compliant. So, if you want to go, run to the registry office.

Hotel prices in Dubai in 2019

How much a trip to Dubai will cost depends primarily on the level of the hotel and the season. First, let's deal with seasonality.

When is it expensive? October-November and March-April are high season in the Emirates. At this time it is neither cold nor hot: the air temperature is about +30°C. During these months, prices for holidays in Dubai are the highest.

When is it cheap? The cheapest time to go on holiday to Dubai is from May to September, but not everyone can withstand the heat of +50°C during this period. If you want to save money and not get cooked in the sun, come on vacation in winter. During the day +25°C, quite fresh and warm, however, not everyone swims in the sea in winter - the water temperature is +19°C. We flew to Dubai at the beginning of December - this is the perfect time.

Food prices in Dubai in 2019

How much money you will spend on food during your holiday in Dubai depends only on your gastronomic preferences and the thickness of your wallet. You can snack on Arabic shawarma or try a dish at a Michelin-starred restaurant - the choice is yours.

In the Emirates you will find a restaurant of any cuisine and any price category. You can eat deliciously and inexpensively in Indian and Pakistani establishments - a hearty lunch for two will cost 50-60 dirhams. There are many such restaurants in the areas of Bur Dubai and Deira.

Prices in inexpensive cafes in Dubai

  • breakfast - from 20 AED;
  • lunch and dinner - from 30 AED;
  • shawarma - from 10 AED.

Prices in restaurants in Dubai

  • breakfast - from 60 AED;
  • lunch - from 100 AED;
  • dinner - from 170 AED;
  • cost of drinks: classic cappuccino - 16 AED, fresh juice - 21 AED, imported beer (0.33 l) - 40 AED.

Prices for groceries in Dubai stores

Most products in the UAE are imported, so they are not cheap. Food prices in Dubai supermarkets:

  • milk (1 l) - 5.50 AED;
  • loaf of white bread (500 g) - 4.60 AED;
  • eggs (12 pcs) - 11 AED;
  • chicken breasts (1 kg) - 26 AED;
  • tomatoes (1 kg) - 7 AED;
  • potatoes (1 kg) - 4.50 AED;
  • onion (1 kg) - 4 AED;
  • cucumbers (1 kg) - 13 AED;
  • apples (1 kg) - 9 AED;
  • oranges (1 kg) - 8 AED;
  • watermelon (1 kg) - 6 AED.

In large supermarkets you can buy ready food: salads, meat, desserts, juice. Such a lunch for two costs 40-50 dirhams, but bringing the idea to life is not easy: finding a large supermarket in Dubai is incredibly difficult, and eating on the street is inconvenient.

Transport in Dubai

Public transport and taxis in Dubai are cheap.

If you are too lazy to understand the system of routes and travel cards, choose Taxi- for such a rich city it is cheap: a trip on average costs 10-20 dirhams. For a family or company, a taxi ride will cost even less than a bus or metro ride.

However, I still recommend that even the laziest people take a ride on the ultra-modern metro and trams at least once. Metro trains run without a driver and are controlled remotely. The stations are interesting and beautifully decorated. Also take a ride along Dubai Creek on national boats - abras. The fare costs only 1 dirham.

So, how much do public transport costs in Dubai?:

  • Taxi: boarding - 5 dirhams, kilometer - from 1.7.
  • Metro and tram: from 4 dirhams per trip, from 20 for a travel card.
  • Abras - from 1 dirham, water buses - from 2 dirhams.

From airport. Read our instructions. If you need a transfer, I advise you to book it in advance on a convenient service so as not to look for a taxi on the spot.

The United Arab Emirates is the very destination that most people associate with first-class service and luxurious holiday. Many, however, are afraid that such a vacation will not be affordable for them. Indeed, a holiday in the UAE is more expensive than, for example, in Turkey or Thailand. But, as they say, there would be a desire. You can save a lot on holiday in the Emirates, the main thing is to organize your holiday correctly.

Where can you have an inexpensive holiday in the UAE? Of course, the world-famous Dubai is not cheap, just like the capital of this country - Abu Dhabi. But there is always an alternative.

Sharjah.

If your budget is limited, but you want to visit the Emirates, then best choice will become Sharjah. Holiday prices here are the most affordable in the country. If we characterize this resort, we can say that it is the most religious among the emirates; drinkers will get bored here, since there is a dry law here: you cannot bring booze either in stores or with you. But amateurs have a relaxing holiday will appreciate the peace and quiet of these areas - best place For family vacation hard to imagine. Even during peak season, you can find very inexpensive hotel rooms.

Sharjah

Diving enthusiasts will also definitely appreciate Sharjah. Here it is possible for those who like to dive into undersea world The largest diving center Scuba International has opened. In addition to the beach and diving, you can also go shopping - there are shops for every budget. Gold products, by the way, are very affordable here. And, of course, there is something to see: the largest mosque in the UAE, an amusement park and magnificent landscapes.

Ajman.

This emirate is of interest primarily to those who come for shopping. Ajaman has the most low prices for goods. Among the retail outlets, we can separately highlight the market on Sheikh Hamed bin Abdulaziz Street and shopping centers Safeer Mall and Carrefour Ajman City Centre. In addition, Ajaman is the smallest emirate of the UAE and the most loyal. Tourists who cannot see a vacation without a glass of whiskey or a glass of wine will not be judged here. The city is calm, beach holidays are perfectly complemented boat trips by speedboat or wooden dhow.

Swimming pool on the roof of the hotel

You can also recommend some tricks when choosing a hotel in order to save money. For example, hotels within the city, further away from the beach, will be cheaper. Shoppers who come only to spend the night usually stop there. You can’t expect much comfort from such hotels, but that’s not what they’re designed for. But when compared with analogues in the coastal area, you will not be left without a rooftop pool. If you don’t want to be so far from the beach, then you can look at options for the second coastline, but it costs twice as much to live in them.

Hotel prices fall in the off-season; if you monitor their level, you can pick the right moment and make a profitable investment. For example, a summer trip can help your budget.

It is also worth choosing a hotel carefully within the coastal zone, because prices may vary, for example, depending on the availability of your own beach or balcony in the room. This way you can save 20-30%.
