Ski resorts Sochi. Ski resorts in Sochi Famous Sochi ski resort

In a broad sense, the ski resort in Sochi is called Krasnaya Polyana, although there are no ski complexes in the village of Krasnaya Polyana, they start from the village of Esto-Sadok, next to which Gazprom and Gornaya Karusel are located, and end with Alpika and the most extreme resort "Rosa Khutor".

In general, a lot has already been done for the development of skiing for the Olympics, which is natural, but even now the complexes continue to rapidly develop and compete with each other, so that every year you see something new: new cable cars are being built, new slopes are opening, hotels, all sorts of entertainment.

Guns are now everywhere, because you can’t always count on Mother Nature. The official season lasts from December to April and even May, but in fact we definitely ride in February and March.

Where to ski in Sochi

Every time we visit, we try to go to all the places to see and experience all the innovations. Actually, only 3 complexes with mountain slopes in Sochi are currently operating.

Alpika-service, the very first resort in Krasnopolyansk, is currently under reconstruction. There is expansion and construction going on there, so for now everything is closed, we are waiting for something big. For now they sell Gazprom ski passes and deliver with their cable car to Gazprom routes. In general, everything seems to be heading towards a unification with “Rose”.

We consider Gazprom (also called Laura after the name of the river and the ski and biathlon complex) to be the best so far; it could compete with many European resorts, and on modern slopes, and on lifts, and on infrastructure, as always, it loses only in service . Complex website http://polyanaski.ru/

There is artificial lighting and snowmaking on the slopes, so the snow there is usually fine, although the resort is located quite low.

The complex is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and until 11 pm on Fridays, weekends and holidays. There are 14 here cable cars: gondola, chairlifts and rope tows. We didn’t see any special queues here.

There are currently 15 trails of varying difficulty, but more will be opened. There are wonderful, gentle slopes for beginners, and there are excellent “black” ones, but they are only open with reliable snow cover.

It’s very good to learn on the “green” Gazprom slopes; all our beginner friends and especially children started skiing there. In general, everything here is focused on family holiday: wide tracks, non-skiing activities such as snow tubing, karting, large Entertainment Center"Galaktika" (cinema, skating rink, mini-water park, club, etc.). Prices, I note, are not low, especially for restaurants, etc.

"Mountain Carousel"

There are some beautiful places here, although the resort itself is not as popular and fashionable, and the infrastructure is not as rich as in “Rosa” and “Gazprom”. But this is a calmer, more democratic place. But, most likely, everything will change soon, development here is proceeding at a rapid pace, because the “Mountain Carousel” is part of the grandiose Gorki-Gorod project: modern hotels, shopping centers, water park, etc.

Recently, evening skating was introduced at Carousel, but previously the tracks were only open until 5 p.m., and there are cannons too. There are not many trails yet, only 25 km from “green” (training ones are very good) to “black” ones. The freeride complex is very popular, i.e. off-piste skiing, which, by the way, is prohibited. There are 13 lifts in total, gondola and chairlifts.

The atmosphere here so far, I repeat, is quite democratic, you can easily find an inexpensive and tasty snack, for example, what else can you look for at Gazprom and Rosa.

"Rosa Khutor"

The most fashionable resort where you can ski, mostly young people, quite modern and developing. True, here too we encountered rude service, but it is clear that the level is growing. “Rose”, in fact, has already gone beyond the ski resort; it exists on its own, without any geographical reference to any locality, and it has kind of become such a point itself, because there is absolutely all the infrastructure, including entertainment for children and families, and you can easily spend up to a week there without going anywhere at all.

There are cannons, so the snow is fine, there was no lighting, but evening skiing has already been done. 18 lifts of all types: gondola, chairlifts, rope tows, conveyor lifts, there are small queues on them.

The ski area here is huge, about 30 slopes from green to red and black, but some are closed. Here is the most spectacular ski lift in Polyana, “Olympia”, passing over the abyss, and also the most high point skiing – 2320 m.

View from Olympia

Infrastructure of "Rose": shops, fashion boutiques, cafes, restaurants of any cuisine, hairdressers, skating rink, karaoke. Accommodation: from apartments to luxurious Radisson. Everything is expensive.

In summer, the trails are used for mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding.

How to get there

Previously, the most convenient way was “Swallow”, but now their routes have been greatly reduced, now nothing goes from the airport at all, so we have to look for options.

If we go to “Rosa” or “Gazprom”, we get off at the “Rosa Khutor” station, i.e. the final one, and if you go to “Karusel”, you can also get off at Esto-Sadok and get to the complex on Karuselevsky free bus.

Train schedule

As an option - a taxi, from Address will cost 1200-1500 rubles, or buses (from the center of Sochi, Adler and the airport).

Accommodation

In general, an expensive resort is probably the most expensive in Russia, and ski resorts are traditionally even more expensive than beach resorts. Although there are not only 5-star hotels here, there are enough 2-3* accommodations, apartments, and even the private sector, but the prices still, let’s say, do not always correspond to the quality of service.

Most cheap option residence – Adler private sector, but you will have to regularly travel to the mountains, so this is only suitable for the option with a car.

10 Augusta

There are four ski resorts in Sochi. These are Rosa Khutor, Gornaya Karusel, Gazprom and Alpika Service, although the latter is currently under reconstruction. Each of those remaining in service offers a choice of trails of varying difficulty levels, from the simplest for beginners to extreme trails for professionals.

Rosa Khutor Resort

One of the most popular ski resorts in Sochi. For the 2014 Olympics, the complex was completely reconstructed, and today it is the most modern ski resort in the country. In total, the slope has 39 trails of varying difficulty levels, with a total length of 94 km. The elevation difference is 1534 meters. To reach the heights, 26 lifts of various types are used. Thanks to modern equipment for creating artificial snow, the skiing and snowboarding season begins in November and lasts until May.

In the summer, the Rosa Khutor resort offers visitors five walking routes and three bike trails. Also at an altitude of 1350 meters above water level there is the Panda Park rope complex. There are three routes to choose from, one of which is at an altitude of 23 meters.

Some of the trails are illuminated, allowing you to ski in the evening. Snow cannons guarantee snow until May, and 11 cable cars help skiers reach the starting altitude. The complex features 7 “green” and “blue” ski slopes for beginners, which are ideal for training, including children. Eight “black” slopes for professionals and 8 slopes from easy to difficult for the whole family. You can move around the complex on 14 cable cars, one of which is the longest ring road in the world.

After the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, the ski resorts of Krasnaya Polyana were transformed. Now they are in no way inferior to their counterparts in the European Alps: professional tracks, modern equipment, fitness centers, restaurants and decent rooms - everything your heart desires. ParkSeason talks about the three main ski resorts where you should start your acquaintance with the mountains of the Krasnodar Territory.

"Rosa Khutor"

Rosa Khutor is perhaps the most popular ski resort in Krasnaya Polyana. The slopes are equipped with 23 lifts. Some slopes are designed for freestyle, others for piste skiing. It is convenient for athletes of any level to ski here, as there are trails of varying degrees of difficulty. The total length of the slopes is 77 km. Those who do not know how to ski or snowboard can hire a personal trainer, or enroll in a school with group classes “Egorka”.

Relaxing here is not a cheap pleasure. There are as many as 14 places to stay on the territory - chalets for big companies, apartments, as well as hotels of the highest category. During the season, the cheapest room will cost 4,000 rubles, and renting a house in the mountains for 15 people with service costs 100 thousand rubles per day. All facilities were built specifically for the Olympics in Sochi, which took place here in 2014.

The resort boasts a spa, yoga and massage center, art studio, children's club and numerous restaurants. In addition to skiing, you can entertain yourself here by helicopter flights, ATV riding and snowmobiling, winter fishing, horseback riding, mountaineering and other activities active rest.

"Gorki City"

“Gorki Gorod” is considered the largest ski resort in Krasnaya Polyana and can accommodate up to 10 thousand vacationers at a time. It grew out of the Gornaya Karusel ski complex, opened here more than 15 years ago. During the 2014 Olympics, Gorki Gorod hosted a media village where sports journalists from all over the world lived and worked.

The resort is located on several levels, the highest point of descent is at the peak of the Black Pyramid mountain of the Aibga ridge - this is 2340 meters above sea level. For skiing, there are 30 kilometers of ski slopes of varying difficulty levels, including illuminated slopes for those who like to ski in the evening and slopes with artificial snow in case bad weather. There are 11 cable cars for the ascent. You can learn how to ski in three instructor schools; there is a separate ski club for children.

Accommodation can be chosen from 11 hotels and apartment complexes. The cheapest accommodation will be in the Gorki Gorod apartments at 540 meters, the minimum room rate is 2,220 rubles per day. If there is no need to save money, then you can stay in the five-star Rixos Krasnaya Polyana Sochi hotel with panoramic views of the mountains and a room price from 6,400 rubles. The resort has spa and fitness centers, a water park, a cinema, billiards, bowling alley and the Gorky Gorod Mall shopping and entertainment center.

"Gorki Gorod" also sells ready-made thematic programs for recreation - for example, health programs or designed for corporate trips.

Gazprom-Laura

Gazprom's year-round resort opened in Krasnaya Polyana eight years ago, and by 2014 it was replenished with the Laura ski and biathlon complex. During the Olympics, biathlon and cross-country skiing competitions were held here, and after the games the complex turned into a permanent training ground for professional athletes.

There are 13 cable cars here, one of which, the five-kilometer 3S, is one of the longest in the world. The trails are divided into different difficulty levels, seven descents are illuminated. In addition, all slopes have a system for creating artificial snow, so unexpected warming will not spoil your vacation.

The resort has three hotel complex: the five-star Grand Hotel Polyana (there are rooms and there are separate villas), the four-star Peak Hotel and the high-mountain Polyana 1389 Hotel and Spa. The cost of accommodation starts from 2,750 rubles (Peak Hotel), but the trip will be much more profitable if you track special offers on the website and buy ready-made holiday tours with meals included, excursions and a ski pass.

You can relax after skiing at the local spa, swimming pool or Galaktika shopping and entertainment center, where, in addition to shops, there is a water park, ice skating rink, bowling alley, billiards club, cinema, restaurants and a scientific and educational center for children.

Fans of active recreation can visit the climbing wall, ride horses or ATVs, go karting or rent a Segway. There are interest clubs for children.

Ski resorts in Sochi 2020 - prices including accommodation and an overview of the most popular places in the village of Krasnaya Polyana (Rosa Khutor). Houses, apartments, cottages and hostels - where is the best place to stay. Alpine skiing in Sochi 2019 is somewhat different from last year, both for the better and for the worse. Best places for skiing and infrastructure have become different. In particular, the Polyana 1389 hotel was finally opened in Laura - it is especially convenient for those who have the means and travel to Sochi by car in winter. There is parking there, the cottages are comfortable, and there are spa programs for women. But those who decide to travel by train will have to take care of purchasing tickets in advance: “Swallows” have been greatly reduced, so from October it has become inconvenient to travel by train.

Five facts about alpine skiing in Sochi:

Fact No. 1: Laughter grass grows in the vicinity of Krasnaya Polyana.

In the forests near the village in summer time there is laughter-grass, which local residents called Allium (Allium ursinnum). One bunch of such grass makes a person laugh for about 30 minutes without ceasing.

Fact No. 2: We skied in Krasnaya Polyana back in 1992!

The first ski lift was built by the Alpika-service company 25 years ago, when the resort was little known in Russia, and livestock was grazed in the village itself.

Fact No. 3: The first inhabitants of Rosa Khutor were Estonians.

The name of the resort comes from the name of the first resident, Estonian Adul Rooz. Estonian settlers settled here in the 19th century, becoming winners of the USSR All-Union competitions named after. Stalin in bobsleigh.

Fact No. 4: During the construction of the cable car, the builders used catapults.

For delivery of construction materials to hard to reach places special catapults were designed that threw stones and bags of rubble to the construction site so as not to spoil the forest.

Fact No. 5: One of the Rosa Khutor tracks has its own Hachiko.

The poor dog has been waiting for his owner for 5 years, who went skiing in the fog and disappeared. The dog can be found at the rescue station near the ski lift - it is fed by local workers.

In addition, due to the crisis, service in many cheap and middle-class hotels has decreased. A lot of hotels were built, but after the Olympics the service dropped somewhat. Maybe now the situation will improve - after all, the crisis has forced the majority of ski lovers to abandon not only Switzerland and Austria, but even Bulgaria. So Sochi's Krasnaya Polyana has great prospects in this regard.

Accommodation prices

Hotel houses with views of the river and mountain panoramas are in greatest demand. The easiest way to rent an inexpensive room at the Rosa Khutor ski resort is through online booking. On New Year As a rule, prices for rooms and cottages increase by about 20%. Despite the fact that the resort has a huge number of restaurants and cafes, it is best to choose tours with all-inclusive meals. At the same time, many hotels know that tourists wake up and ride at different times, so the buffet is available almost around the clock.

When renting houses, you can rent a cottage with a bathhouse, parking lot, children's playground and barbecue area. However, given that plots in these protected areas are worth their weight in gold, almost all real estate has a very modest internal territory.

Gazprom (Laura)

The ski resort in Sochi Gazprom or, as it is also called, Laura, is one of the best. Anyone who has been to European resorts will not be very disappointed in it. The only unpleasant thing is not always decent service and occasional rudeness. And your face will be photographed at the entrance - in case you steal your rented Fisher skis. But overall, in terms of comfort, everything is fine.

The main base at Gazprom is located near the lower lift. Cottages, restaurants, Beautiful places- all this is guaranteed. The infrastructure is good with the exception of some drag lifts, near which queues accumulate. Plus, the resort is low, so the organizers have to maintain the snow cover with the help of cannons in some places. So it doesn’t happen that the snow has melted in Laura and it’s impossible to ride. Moreover, artificial snow is better for athletes and professionals. Therefore, snow cannons in Gazprom are really a big plus of this resort.

In total, Gazprom has 16 tracks of varying difficulty. Those who have not previously practiced alpine skiing in Sochi 2020 will find it very comfortable and convenient - there are gentle slopes for training. As for the price of ski rentals, you will have to pay from 500 to 1000 rubles for a Volki or Fisher set. Overall, not bad, you can have a wonderful rest in a few days. You can also rent a snowboard.

"Rosa Khutor"

The ski resort in Sochi “Rosa Khutor” is a former resort for poor people. Prices here are the most affordable, especially in terms of accommodation. But rental and ski lifts are even more expensive than in Europe. A lift for 1 day will cost 2,650 rubles. Conditions - after the Olympics (and competitions were held here too) became quite normal. A picturesque, but somewhat dull view of the Mzymta River, all kinds of Russian taverns and borscht houses, a good cable car with spacious cabins. By the way, there are also expensive hotels in Rosa Khutor, but you need to understand that the resort is mainly dominated by young people and locals.

The length of the routes at Rosa Khutor is greater than at Gazprom-Laura. There are as many as 77 km of them, 16 lifts. The snow cannons are working - there is plenty of room to ride. Some of the lifts are still under construction, and have been for several years now. The downside is that there are rocks and ice blocks on some routes. There are also queues at the lifts. In addition, reviews from tourists about Rosa Khutor indicate that the resort loves to cheat with prices. So everything is typical Russian. But again, those who come for a ride will get it. The only thing is that you need to be careful, because not all dangerous routes are marked. Look at the map, remember, don’t rush.

In general, Rosa Khutor is irritating, especially for those who have visited Europe before. But there is nowhere to go. If you accept it and just come for a ride, you might even enjoy it. By the way, those who want to buy children's mountain skis should know that personal equipment is sometimes stolen at Rosa Khutor.

"Mountain Carousel"

The ski resort in Sochi “Mountain Carousel” is located in the town of Estosadok. It became famous because Medvedev skated here. If you manage to book a hotel in the “Mountain Carousel” at 960 meters, you will enjoy only one picturesque view. Of all the alpine skiing in Sochi 2020, Carousel is the most beautiful.

The length of the trails here is 27 kilometers. Most of the tracks are professional, there are even jumps, but there are also several tracks for beginners. It’s better not to come here with children, although there are good instructors for them. It’s just that, in the opinion of many, the tracks for children’s skiing are dangerous. And it’s difficult to drive a car here—there’s almost no parking. Otherwise, “Mountain Carousel” is a very worthy object. Hotels are average in price, from 3,000 rubles and kopecks per room. Alpine skis for rent from well-known companies - Salomon, Rossignol, Berton, elite Volki and Fisher. Cost – about 1000 rubles. A ski pass will cost 700 rubles and more.

The service at the Mountain Carousel is not too different from Gazprom and Rosa Khutor, but, probably due to the smaller number of people, it is calmer and more dignified. Plus, the infrastructure is not so developed - there are much fewer restaurants, saunas and bars here.

Although skiing in Sochi 2020 are inferior to the European level, they are developing every year. Those who don’t go to Sochi go to Dombay. Organizers of ski resorts in Sochi are working to improve service, which increased noticeably in 2019.

Sochi ski resorts are located in Krasnaya Polyana, on the slopes of the Caucasus. All of them are located close to the sea, as well as international airport. There is a pleasant mountain-sea climate and easy access to the slopes, so the resorts are very convenient for tourists. Many people celebrate the New Year at one of the Sochi ski resorts.

The 2014 Olympics competitions were held in Krasnaya Polyana. As a result, there are new high-quality slopes and lifts, developed infrastructure, a lot of daily accommodation and hotels, and a large range of related entertainment.
