Today Adler is the ceremonial facade of the entire Black Sea coast of Russia, practically an exemplary city, built almost “from scratch” for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. Of course, we are not talking about old areas that have undergone minimal changes. Tourist interest in Adler increased many times after the end of the competition, although before it did not suffer from the lack of vacationers.

In recent years, vacations on the territory of Imereti Bay have been vacations on a completely different level than in the Soviet and post-Soviet periods. Tourists can expect comfortable hotels, gourmet restaurants, a varied entertainment program, interesting excursions and a higher level of service, which local residents are trying to get used to.

The best hotels and inns at affordable prices.

What to see and where to go in Adler?

The most interesting and beautiful places for walks. Photos and brief description.

A complex of structures for the maritime Olympic cluster, erected for the Winter Games in 2014. Competitions in figure skating, hockey, curling, short track speed skating and speed skating were held on its territory. The Olympic Park consists of several sports arenas, centers, and spacious stadiums, which, after the end of the games, they try to use as much as possible for various events.

The most grandiose object of the Olympic Park. It hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the games, but the competitions themselves were not held here. The arena has a unique design: it is equipped with a glass sliding roof, on which colorful illumination turns on in the evenings. The Fisht stands accommodate more than 41 thousand spectators. After the end of the Olympic Games, it was converted into a football stadium with the expectation of the 2018 World Cup.

The race track where the Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix has been held since 2014. But Sochi Autodrom is not just a road and stands, but a full-fledged complex, popular among fans of racing and everything related to high-speed cars: there is a motorcycle school and a museum, a racing taxi offers its services, excursions and master classes are held. On special track days, everyone is given the opportunity to test the track in their own car.

Russia's first large-scale theme park. His concept was based on stories from Russian fairy tales, historical and folklore motifs. It was built by 2014 and officially opened on Children's Day, June 1st. There are many extreme attractions here: “Snake Gorynych”, “Firebird”, “Quantum Leap”, calmer entertainment like the “Magic Labyrinth” and the “Jungle” complex, and since 2015 there has been a dolphinarium.

The museum is located in the Olympic Park. His collection consists of Soviet retro cars manufactured in the 1930s–90s. In addition to passenger cars, buses, ambulances, trucks, fire engines and much more are exhibited here. You can explore the exhibition on your own; an alternative option is to book a guided tour. The museum has a souvenir shop where they sell models of all real exhibits.

An extended walking area 7 km long, specially created for the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. Today it has become a real decoration of Adler and a place of attraction for all tourists visiting the Olympic Park. The walking part of the embankment is paved with tiles, and there is a separate path for cyclists, covered with rubberized material. Walking along the alley, you can see almost all the Olympic objects one after another.

All city beaches are covered with pebbles, but in some places you can find rare patches of sand. The swimming area begins near the village of Kudepsta and ends 3 km from the Abkhaz border. After the improvement and global reconstruction of the entire Imereti Bay, the quality of the beaches and infrastructure have noticeably improved, although the main drawback - the proximity of the railway tracks - still prevents the Adler beaches from being called ideal.

Arboretum covering an area of 19 hectares. More than 5 thousand plants grow on its territory, including exotic and rare species. Among them are 300-year-old oak, Japanese sakura, Chinese fan palm, and tulip tree. In the ponds, among the thickets of water lilies, lilies and lotuses, swans and ducks swim, which you can feed. The park’s special pride is its magnificent rose garden and a diverse collection of coniferous plants.

A square of the early 20th century, named after the writer, publicist and Decembrist A. A. Bestuzhev, who died here in 1837. In the 1950s, a monument was erected at his grave (bas-relief against the background of a stone wall). The park occupies a small area - it is just a cozy corner of greenery in the middle of urban development, which locals and tourists love to visit to sit among magnolias and cypress trees.

A city park designed for walking, entertainment and family recreation. There is a labyrinth, a trampoline, an autodrome, fun slides, a fun room and other attractions that are well known from childhood. There are also play areas for children, and dance and sports grounds for adults. In the center there is an artificial pond, along the alleys in the shade of trees there are benches.

What would a vacation in the south be without juicy fruits and local delicacies? Various goodies can be bought at the city market, where products are brought from all regions of Kuban, as well as from Abkhazia and Turkey. A special trick of local traders is to lay out colorful spices on the counters, arranging them in fancy patterns that involuntarily attract the eyes of customers. Another trick is orderly rows of nuts in jars of honey, which you want to buy and taste immediately.

The huge open-air shopping complex, consisting of nine buildings that are connected by passages, is a true paradise for shopping lovers. This is a whole city with endless labyrinths of streets (there is even an observation tower, a concert hall for 1200 spectators and a swimming pool, not to mention numerous cafes). The shopping center is designed in such a way that visitors can immediately go to the beach from the shopping galleries.

A two-story oceanarium covering an area of 6 thousand m² and consisting of 30 aquariums. Its collection is very diverse: dozens of species of tropical fish, sharks, stingrays, jellyfish, turtles, inhabitants of the Red Sea, catfish and other representatives of marine fauna. The main tank of the oceanarium is a 44-meter tunnel, from which you can observe underwater life from the inside. Various shows are held for visitors every day.

“Monkey nursery” is the popular name of the only scientific research institute of medical primatology in Russia. It was founded in 1927; currently it is home to about 4.5 thousand individuals, on which drugs and vaccines are tested. Interesting thematic excursions are held for tourists in the nursery - of course, people are shown only individuals who do not take part in the experiments.

The Dolphinarium was opened in 1998; during the summer season it is visited by more than 130 thousand spectators. Today, bottlenose dolphins, white whales, sea lions, seals and walruses perform at the arena. The main show arena is a 20-meter swimming pool, around which there are stands. A standard performance lasts about an hour, during which the animals perform various tricks and follow the instructors' commands.

The Adler terrarium is the home of all kinds of snakes, lizards, spiders and turtles. Animals are kept in small aquariums and cages located in darkened narrow corridors. Some tourists think they look tortured. For a fee you can buy food and feed the “reptile” you like. There is also a private room with monkeys and a petting zoo with rabbits, chickens, sheep and goats.

The new church in 2014, nicknamed the "Olympic Temple" as it was built in preparation for the Winter Games. This is a grandiose 43-meter building in the neo-Byzantine style with luxurious interior paintings - it is immediately noticeable that no expense was spared on its construction. The structure was erected according to the design of F.I. Afuksenidi; a team of 25 artists worked on the frescoes for four months.

An Orthodox church built in the 1990s. The building and the surrounding area look elegant, despite the simplicity of the architectural forms, clearly leaning towards classicism. Previously, there was also a church on the site of the modern building, which was demolished in 1947. In Soviet times, there were railway ticket offices for pre-sale tickets. Since 1993, the territory was returned to the parish, and a few years later construction of a new church began.

The Temple of the Holy Spirit is another church that replaced a building that was demolished in 1947. But unlike the nearby Holy Trinity Church, it looks completely different - it was based on a 2-story civil building from the 2000s. In the facade of the building you can even see Moorish motifs, characteristic of the architecture of Central Asia during the heyday of the Bukhara Khanate, although in general its forms are quite laconic.

A convent organized in 1999 on the site of the Holy Trinity Monastery, which was abolished during Soviet times. The complex of buildings includes the main cathedral, nine temples, utility and administrative buildings. All buildings are new, built in our time, so they are in very good condition. The monastery buildings are located among dense greenery and blend harmoniously into the natural landscape.

A local history museum dedicated to the study and popularization of the history of the region. It was founded in 1989. Visitors can view several collections. Archaeological, where finds from the Paleolithic, Bronze Age and objects obtained from the site of early medieval settlements are collected. Ethnographic, which presents samples of weapons, handicrafts and tools. And historical, telling about the fate of the region in the 19th–20th centuries.

The lighthouse was built in 1898 and still performs its functions today. The tower reaches a height of 11 meters, the signal is clearly visible from a distance of 13 miles. The structure is an iron structure painted red and white. At the top there is a booth with lighting equipment and a platform. The Adler lighthouse is the southernmost in Russia, as it is located just 10 km from the Abkhaz border.

A complex of water attractions designed for the whole family. Tourists craving thrills can slide down steep slides and get their share of extreme sports; for children there are safer and quieter entertainments. The water park also has four swimming pools, several cafes and cocktail bars, and a pizzeria. Considering the small size of the Amphibius, in the summer it can be quite crowded here, and you have to wait 10 minutes for your turn on the slide.

The only park of this kind in Russia. There are similar sites in Singapore, Germany, France, Australia and China. AJ Hackett Sochi was created on the initiative of A. Hackett, an extreme athlete who professionally engages in air jumping with insurance. The park is located in the Akhshtyr Gorge on the world's longest suspension bridge, Skybridge. In addition to jumping, you can book a helicopter ride here.

The new building of the city station can be considered a masterpiece of modern architecture. It was built taking into account all the latest security and infrastructure requirements. The building is lined with mirror tiles and on a sunny day it plays with numerous reflections, attracting attention. From the sea side, you can get to the station by climbing the stairs to a wide platform from where a magnificent view opens.

An expressway with a railway line with a length of about 50 km, connecting Adler with Krasnaya Polyana. Like many other facilities, it was put into operation before the Olympic Games. Most of the route is built through tunnels. The construction of the road became one of the most expensive projects in preparation for the games, for which it was repeatedly criticized by the media.

The Adler trout farm is the largest Russian enterprise of its kind. Several species of valuable fish are grown here, providing supplies to shops and restaurants in Greater Sochi. In addition to selling its products (including in company stores), the trout farm provides tourism services in organizing excursions, tastings, paid and sport fishing.

The cave was discovered at the beginning of the 20th century by the French explorer E. A. Martel; in 1936, Soviet scientists found an ancient human site on its territory. For tourists, visiting became possible only in 1999, since previously the object had the status of a monument of primitive architecture, and entry into it was prohibited. The depth of the cave is 160 meters, the height of the ceilings of the underground halls is up to 10 meters, the width is up to 8 meters.

Gluboky Yar is one of the highest waterfalls in Greater Sochi (41.5 meters). At its foot there is an entrance to a cave and a small lake. The road to the natural attraction begins near the village of Monastery. To get to the waterfall, you need to cross the Mzymta River and then follow the signs and the walking trail. Just above the cascade, at a distance of 300–400 meters, are the ruins of a Christian temple.

The deepest river feeding the Black Sea. It originates in the depths of the Main Caucasian ridge and through the Aibga-Achishkho chain rolls its muddy waters along the Akhshtyr Gorge. The predominantly gray color of the river is due to the fact that a large amount of rock remains is mixed in the water. A fairly common version is that Mzymta, translated from the local dialect, means “mad.”

Arriving in Sochi, you can’t help but see the Olympic venues. In this article I will talk about the Olympic Park and the Olympic Village, located in the Imereti Lowland on the Black Sea coast. This is the so-called “coastal cluster”.

The opening and closing ceremonies of the Games took place at the Fisht stadium, which is currently under reconstruction: at the request of the organizers, it should be expanded for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Russia.

Coastal cluster and its buildings

Over the course of 7 years, a huge Olympic Park and Olympic Village were built by the sea, later to which were added Sochi Park (opened in June 2014, our answer to Disneyland) and the Formula 1 track (the first Russian Grand Prix race took place here on October 12, 2014 ).

The diagram shows the location of the main objects of the Olympic Park:

All Olympic venues are grouped around. Located here. In the evening, the Olympic Flame turns into a light and music fountain. If you stand in front of it, then it and the Fisht stadium behind it will appear as a single object, symbolizing the Firebird. From here you can see all the Olympic venues.

Olympic Stadium Fischt". The opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic and Paralympic Games took place here; no other sports competitions were held here during the Games. It could accommodate 40,000 spectators; after reconstruction, by 2017 it will accommodate 47,659 spectators. In 2017, part of the Confederations Cup matches will be held here, and in 2018, matches of the FIFA World Cup. The stadium got its name from a mountain peak in the western part of the Main Caucasus Range. From the Adyghe language the word “fisht” is translated as “white head”.

Ice Palace "Bolshoi"- a large ice arena, the main hockey stadium during the 2014 Games. Accommodates 12,000 spectators. Its appearance resembles a frozen drop.

Ice Arena "Shaiba"— small ice arena, hockey stadium, 7,000 spectators.

Indoor skating center "Adler Arena"(formerly the Olympic Oval). Accommodates 8,000 spectators. Speed skating competitions were held here during the Winter Olympics, and a tennis academy has been operating there since September 2014.

Ice Palace- competitions in figure skating and short track speed skating, accommodates 12,000 spectators. It was initially assumed that after the end of the Games the stadium would be dismantled and moved to another region of the Russian Federation.

— curling arena, seats 3,000 spectators. The design is of a prefabricated type, it was initially assumed that after the end of the Games it would be demonized and transported to another city in Russia for post-Olympic use.

In addition, there are two training arenas— hockey training rink and figure skating training rink.

Located next to the Olympic Park Sochi Circuit— Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix circuit with a total length of 5853.7 meters. Part of the route passes directly through the territory of the Olympic Park.

To the northwest of the Olympic Park is located where the competition participants, members of the IOC and IPC lived during the Games.

Behind it, not far from the left bank of the Mzymta River, is located. It was founded in 1910 by General Daniil Vasilyevich Drachevsky (1858-1918) on the lands of his estate “Casual”. The garden design was carried out by the talented landscape architect and dendrologist Arnold Eduardovich Regel (1856-1917).

To the east of the Olympic Park there is an entertainment complex, hotel complex "Bogatyr" ****, children's educational center "Sirius", other hotel complexes, as well as the houses of those who were relocated from the construction site of the Olympic facilities. The ponds have been preserved, the area around which was left in its original form at the request of environmentalists.

At the moment, the Olympic Park is very crowded, people come here both for the whole day and for several days, training and competitions are regularly held at the stadiums, and various shows are organized. The fears of those who were worried about the desolation of the Olympic Park and the Olympic Village, fortunately, were not justified.

Photos of the Olympic Park

Let's take a short tour of the Olympic Park. I will stick to the itinerary of our trip here. Of course, the place still doesn’t seem very lived-in: all the buildings are new, although in some places traces of careless construction are visible, no vegetation has risen.

The first point on our program was the Olympic Village. Now located here Imereti resort area, a premium resort. Here you can rent apartments and apartments for the duration of your vacation, or purchase housing as your own. Near - Dendrological Park "Southern Cultures", where a variety of plant species grow, including rare ones (not to be confused with the Sochi Arboretum), as well as Ornithological Park, where birds nest, many of which are listed in the Red Book.

Near the Olympic Village is located, built specifically for the Olympic Games. Thanks to it, not only a stable energy supply was ensured during the Games, but also the problem of energy shortage in Sochi that existed in the past was solved.

The houses in Imereti, where the Olympians previously lived, are slowly settling in, life is appearing.

Houses for Olympic athletes in the “Park Quarter”

Near the houses for the Olympic teams there are houses for Paralympic athletes. They are distinguished by wider doorways, ramps, and the absence of thresholds. Everything inside is done for the convenience of people with disabilities.

Houses for Paralympic athletes in the Park Quarter

Between the Olympic Village and the Adler Thermal Power Plant is located Science Park of the Sirius Children's Educational Center, where the laboratories are located (the Sirius educational center itself is located on the other side of the Olympic Park, on the shore of Imereti Bay). During the Olympic Games this building housed main media center of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. A multi-colored building next to it - hotel "Tulip Inn Omega Sochi" ***, which belongs to the international hotel chain Tulip Hotels, Suites & Resorts.

Science Park Children's Center "Sirius" and the hotel "Tulip Inn Omega Sochi"

Indoor skating center "Adler Arena" and stadium "Fisht"

Along the shore there is the “Marine Quarter”, parallel to it there is the “Reserve Quarter”, behind which lies a green protected area with a pond. On the other side of it, the “Park Quarter” was built, which I wrote about above.

At the end of these blocks there is a hotel Radisson Blu Resort & Congress Center *****. During the Games, members of the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee lived here.

From the Olympic Village we drove past the Olympic Park in the other direction - to Sochi Park and the cultural and historical center “Selo Nekrasovskoye”.

"Reserve Quarter" and Bolshoi Stadium

Driving past the Fisht stadium

We drove past hotel complex "Bogatyr" ****, built in the style of a fairytale castle. During the Games, high-ranking guests lived here: members of royal families, princes, etc.

The road took us to Staroobryadcheskaya Street. This name did not appear here by chance. Before the Olympic Games, Old Believers lived in the nearby territory. During the construction of Olympic facilities in the Olympic Park, their houses had to be destroyed, and a new quarter with modern cottages and all the necessary infrastructure was built for them along the coast. On the territory of the Olympic Park, next to the Fisht stadium and the Main Ceremonial Square, an Old Believer cemetery has been preserved, fenced off from the eyes of strangers with a blank fence.

Opposite Nekrasovsky there is a block Azimut hotels *** And hotel complex "Alexandrovsky Garden". Next to them is another pond, left from previous pre-Olympic times.

Sochi Park and Ferris Wheel

Then we turned to . This is the first entertainment park of this level in our country, the “Russian Disneyland”. There are extreme attractions here: the Quantum Leap gravity slide, which reaches speeds of up to 105 km/h; 65-meter free-fall tower “Firebird”; the “Snake Gorynych” roller coaster with an acceleration effect and a track length of 1056 m. In total, 12 attractions, a laboratory site and a complex of activities “Jungle”, a museum of entertaining sciences “Experimentanium”, a dolphinarium, and show programs were built on the territory of Sochi Park.

Sochi Park was opened to the general public in June 2014. The entrance ticket costs 1,500 rubles; tickets for attractions are already included in this price.

Sochi Park and the Bogatyr hotel complex

Entrance to Sochi Park

We did not go to Sochi Park, limiting ourselves to a ride on the Ferris Wheel installed in front of it. From here you have magnificent views of the Olympic venues and the surrounding area.

Buildings are clearly visible from the Ferris Wheel educational center "Sirius", created by the Educational Foundation “Talent and Success” on the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin. The goal of the Sirius Educational Center is the early identification, development and further professional support of gifted children who have demonstrated outstanding abilities in the arts, sports, natural sciences, and who have achieved success in technical creativity.

Olympic Park

After the Ferris Wheel ride, we went directly to the Olympic Park. The sun was setting, there was not much time left before darkness. Therefore, we decided to take a tour of the park in an electric car. In a short time we saw all the objects, and the guide told us about each of them.

Now on the territory of the Olympic Park there are not only sports facilities for training and competitions, but also numerous museums.

Near railway station "Imereti Resort"(until March 2016 it was called the Olympic Park) are located Search pavilions. This is the main entrance to the Olympic Park. During normal times, this part of the park is not crowded.

Next to him - Main grandstand of the Formula 1 circuit, in front of which there is a start-finish straight line.

Museum of Classic and Sports Cars in the Main Stand

Opposite the grandstand museum is a large lawn with a green sculpture of a classic racing car. This landscape composition was opened on September 11, 2014 in honor of the completion of construction Sochi Autodrom, tracks for the Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix.

In addition to palm trees and other subtropical trees, planted on the territory of the Olympic Park eucalyptus. These trees are able to draw water from the soil, thereby helping to drain the area. Eucalyptus trees appeared in Sochi back in the 30s of the 20th century - they were planted for drainage purposes and to fight malaria mosquitoes that lived in the swamps.

Despite the fact that enormous work was carried out to drain the Imereti Lowland and soil was brought in, soil shrinkage continues to this day.

Grandstand T2 Sochi Autodrom and eucalyptus alley

Installed near the Automuseum monument to the first Olympic champion in the history of Russia - Nikolai Aleksandrovich Panin-Kolomenkin(1872-1956), silver medalist of the 1908 Olympic Games in figure skating, 5-time champion of Russia, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR.

Monument to the first Russian Olympic champion Panin-Kolomenkin

Another unusual pavilion on the territory of the Olympic Park is mirror exhibition pavilion. It houses several museums:

  • Electrical Museum of Nikola Tesla,
  • Museum of the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games - an exhibition of equipment and decorations, including figures of the games mascots,
  • Dinosaur Museum,

We then drove to the other end of five footbridges.

You can see (and hear) from almost everywhere in the Olympic Park. attraction "Quantum Leap", located in Sochi Park. This is one of the most extreme attractions in the world. The carriage speed exceeds 100 km/h, and the overload is 4G.

Attraction "Quantum Leap"

Ice Palace

Fisht Stadium

Located next to the Fisht stadium Old Believer cemetery. It is closed by an impenetrable fence. Only Old Believers can go inside. The cemetery is still in operation.

After looking at all the objects, we finally approach The main ceremonial square Medal Plaza. Located here, now - light and sound fountain. Let me remind you that, together with the Fisht stadium, their appearance resembles a giant Firebird. The same image is repeated in the 100-meter circle on which the Bowl is installed. During the Olympic and Paralympic Games, award ceremonies were held here.

In the evening there is an hour-long light and music show. In time with the music, jets of water rise and are illuminated in different colors.

It's time to leave the Olympic Park. We drove past the Fisht stadium again. Its roof is now open - reconstruction is underway. Very soon the floodlights will be turned on here again and a new sports festival will begin.

My impressions of visiting the Olympic Park

To say that I was shocked by visiting the Olympic Park is to say nothing. The reality exceeded all my wildest expectations. But this is only half of the Olympic venues! Of course, I compared what I saw with. Much in Sochi, in my opinion, has been done much more interesting and on a larger scale than in . True, Beijing's Bird's Nest Stadium is beyond competition!

On June 18, on the territory of the city, the Velvet Seasons Hotel, on the initiative and with the support of the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar Territory Viktor Teplyakov, a palm alley appeared. Together with employees of the Omega Center company, hotel guests, and representatives of the Young Guard of United Russia, about forty young palm trees were planted as part of the Municipal Political Agenda project.

The Velvet Seasons Hotel is located in close proximity to the Olympic Park; it was built for the Olympic Games in Sochi and became the main accommodation for journalists during the Games. Now this hotel is an example of the tourist heritage of the Sochi Olympics. It welcomes the third summer season with a full number of rooms, developed tourist infrastructure, and well-maintained beaches.

A whole program of planting green spaces is being implemented on the territory of the hotel fund. So, a week earlier, resort guests planted eucalyptus trees near the hotel. Near each tree, the administration of the Omega Center company installs a sign with the name and surname of the guest who planted it.

“Today’s action not only has a good socio-ecological character, but also to some extent forms a tourist portrait of the post-Olympic resort of Sochi. After all, in an area where just five years ago there were swampy areas, thickets, and livestock walking, today we see a modern tourist complex that meets European standards. And you and I know that Sochi is not only the sea and the beach, Sochi has always been called a garden city. Only here you can see unique subtropical plants. Our palm alley will be a wonderful decoration of the Velvet Seasons hotel fund,” noted a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar Territory Victor Teplyakov.

“Young people simply have to green Sochi - after all, this is truly a foundation for the future and our responsibility. Such actions show love for our own city and our concern for its future,” said the head of the NGO Young Guard of United Russia. Vakhtang Khiklandze.

Dear reader, we won’t tell you how beautiful it is in the Olympic Park, how every year the park is landscaped, flower beds are planted, and various figures are built. We will not praise the stadiums themselves; there will still be those who, after visiting, will say that the stadium is concrete and nothing to look at. One piece of advice - if you come to relax in Sochi, Adler or Krasnaya Polyana, the Olympic Park is a must have in your review of the city and attractive places in the city!

The same park where representatives from all over the world were in 2014! The opening of the 2014 Olympics was a solemn event! The Olympic flame will never go out in our hearts!

We are talking about the Sochi Olympic Park.

In this article we will try to answer you questions such as:

-What is interesting and what can you see?

-What kind of entertainment are there;

-How and what is the most convenient way to get acquainted with the “Olympic attraction”.

-What to take with you for a walk in the park.

How long does it take to walk through the Olympic Park?

At the end of the article, we will show you the two most popular cycling routes: the first route is classic, we called it “Central” or “Small Olympic Ring”, the second cycling route is more intense, called the “Big Olympic Ring”, well, accordingly it is longer.

Where does the visit begin:

The central entrance is located from the Olympic Park railway station, in front of the central entrance there is a huge area with planted palm trees, a bus zone with stops and a large parking area for private cars (this is in case you came to the park with your own car).

Parking is free. There are also private taxi drivers on duty in the parking lot, in case you’ve been walking around the park late and public transport is no longer available.

At the entrance you will be offered a sightseeing tour in electric cars, or you may be offered a whirlwind ride on a snow-white mini-retro train.

In general, you can write a separate article about transport, because there are a huge number of types of movement around the park for every taste and color: bicycles, electric cars, trailers, Segways, two and four-seater cars, round capsules, like from the movie “Jurassic Park” and we We are confident that the number of vehicles will grow every year. For your route, you can contact the point BICYCLE RENTAL IN THE OLYMPIC PARK. As soon as you walk through the main entrance, your eyes will see the back of the Formula 1 grandstands.

On the first square, flower beds were planted, and the figure of a sports car was trimmed to its original dimensions. Next, our route goes a little to the left to a new alley of eucalyptus trees; benches for rest are installed along the alley.

The path will take you past a new karting track, an extreme park (for fans of rollerblading, skateboarding, and bicycles), a Russian fan house, now a car museum (a white building decorated in a lace-carved style), the Megafon building, and the mirror building of the former Bosco store. Now the building is occupied by: the Opening and Closing Museum of the Olympic Games, the Nikola Tesla Museum, the Leonardo da Vinci Museum and the Dinosaur Museum. You will definitely pay attention to the dinosaur museum (especially if you are with children): in front of the entrance you will be greeted by the dinosaur Deinonychus, nicknamed the terrible claw, he growls and moves.

From the bridge there is a view of the main part - the Iceberg is already clearly visible on the right, the snow-white Fisht rises ahead (reconstruction and preparations for the 2018 World Cup are currently underway)

Iceberg Figure Skating Palace

But on the left you will see the territory of Sochi Park. The Bogatyr Hotel, which resembles an ancient castle during the day, is the first thing you notice when climbing the bridges, and it fascinates with its spectacular lighting in the evening, and then you will see a giant purple structure nicknamed “Quantum Leap” - an extreme attraction for those who like to tickle their nerves).Beyond Quantum Leap, a special fairy-tale world of Russian fairy tales opens up, intertwined with extreme entertainment for adults and fun activities for kids. But we will tell you more about it in the next article.

Having gone down from the bridge, you find yourself on the second platform, which will lead you to the main stadium, where the opening and closing of the 2014 Olympic Games took place. Fisht Stadium is named after the mountain range here in the Caucasus, it is extremely beautiful and the name translates as Sugar Loaf. The stadium itself was built a little to the left, but metal corridors lead you to the main site of the Olympic Park. The structures are usually full of advertising campaigns. This year, the administration of the Olympic Park will focus on advertising the products of the Krasnodar region: instead of the numerous souvenir kiosks that occupied the park last year, they have installed kiosks where they will sell local tea and honey in all their variety.

In the center is the Olympic cauldron and fountains.

Each evening the fountains turn on at a scheduled time and give a show of water, light and music. The spectacle is very beautiful - we recommend everyone to see it at least once. We especially recommend coming closer to the fountain.

The bowl is surrounded in a tight ring by the Olympic stadiums where the competitions took place: Fisht, Shaiba, the Bolshoi Ice Palace, the Ice Cube curling center, where concerts and the Comedy Club festival are held, the tennis academy, Iceberg. (listing of stadiums from left to right).

Having reached the heart of the park, you can relax and leisurely stroll along the sports facilities, take photos, and relax. In warm weather, everyone can rest on the lawns of the park, read books, and sunbathe.

On the side of the Fisht stadium and the corridor that takes you to the center, there is an open food area. Several stalls with fast food: coffee, tea, beer, juices, burgers, pizzas. But prices are above average.

If you come for a walk for more than an hour, you can take with you a pre-prepared snack and water, tea or coffee in a thermos, for example.

We hope we answered the first two questions at the beginning of the article. The Olympic Park is an active recreation area, a huge territory without cars, where you can come for a walk with your child or just come for a bike ride.

What is the most convenient way to get acquainted with the park: it all depends on what your goals are. If you just want to take a couple of pictures and not spend a lot of time visiting, then buy a sightseeing tour at the entrance, they will take you to the center and tell you about what you are passing by. This type of walk is also suitable for older people who have difficulty walking long distances.

If you are good at cycling and want to come on a bike for at least 3-4 hours, then for you there is a separate article about how to save money on bicycle rental and where is the best place to get BICYCLE FOR RENTAL. Pros of cycling: You'll see a lot more in less time.

Well, for those who just want to experience something new, then take a walk, and here you can ride on a Segway or on a capsule.

How to dress and what to take with you for a walk:

It all depends on the time of year. In winter it can be windy and cool due to the large open area next to the sea, even in sunny weather.

Therefore, it is worth taking a hat and sweater with you.

Dress sportily. Excellent shoes are sneakers and sneakers.

In the summer season, the ideal time to visit the park is before 12:00 noon and after 17:00 in the evening. It's very hot here at noon. You may get heatstroke.

Bring a backpack with you at all times, and be sure to have a snack and a bottle of water (at a minimum).

In summer: swimsuit, sunscreen or sunscreen, hat, glasses, towel.

Camera and friends;).

Completion of the route through the Olympic Park.

An ideal place for sports or just a walk, either alone or with friends! If you want to return to the buses or go to the train station to take the Lastochka to the city, then your route will go in the opposite direction, to the main entrance from where we came.

If you want to go to the embankment, you will need to return to the entrance to the bridges, towards the sea.

From the sea side it is surrounded by a chic embankment with the longest bike path in Sochi.

As promised, we are posting a choice of two cycling routes around the Olympic Park. (see picture below)

We wish you a pleasant stay!
