What are the best beaches in pattaya. Pattaya beaches

Thailand is a country in South-East Asia located on two peninsulas: Indochina and Malacca. This state is washed by two seas: Andaman - on west coast and South China - on the eastern side.

Swimming seasons in Pattaya

The climate of the resort allows you to comfortably relax in Thailand all year round, but there are still some peculiarities in weather conditions and the behavior of the sea.

AT low season beach holidays are somewhat overcast: heavy rains often fall, thunderstorms are present, and the sky is rarely clear. In addition, the water in the sea is characterized by increased activity, which brings a lot of debris, silt and dirt to the shore during high tides. The appearance of the beach areas is unsightly, the water is muddy and dirty, which discourages any attempt to swim or lie down on the sand.

From the beginning of November to the end of March in Pattaya is the high season. The sea at this time is transparent, clean, but only until a large number of vacationers appear on the beaches.

The water in the sea is comfortable and its temperature does not fall below + 25 + 28 degrees.

What are vacationers saying?

A few decades ago, there were no problems with cleanliness in Pattaya (then still a small fishing village), as the resort was just gaining momentum and did not open its beaches for such a huge number of people. In a record short time, Pattaya has become a very popular and sought-after resort, and the faster it developed and deteriorated, the more tragic the situation on the coast became.

Today, most tourists who have visited resorts not only in Thailand, but also in other countries, say that the coast in Pattaya is not suitable for good beach holiday. In the event that you are not a sophisticated tourist and feel quite comfortable on Black Sea resorts, then for you the sea of Pattaya will seem clean and quite suitable for swimming. Even if you are disappointed in the cleanliness of the Pattaya coast, there is always the opportunity to go to the nearby islands to relax on the white sand and swim in the azure waters of the South China Sea.

Holidays in Thailand have long been associated among travelers from Russia with a mandatory visit to Pattaya. This cozy resort town gained great popularity due to its convenient location on the shores of the Gulf of Thailand and well-developed tourist infrastructure. It is in Pattaya that everyone can feel at home: almost all signs, menus, ATMs are in Russian.

It looks like a city beach in Pattaya

Of course, not everything here is perfect, and in some areas you can encounter such not-so-pleasant phenomena as smog, garbage and a dirty sea. Therefore, it is better to study in advance the most comfortable Pattaya beaches in order to find a hotel near them later.

detailed map Pattaya showing all beaches

If you look at Pattaya on the map, you can see that this city consists of three main parts: northern, central and southern. The beaches in these areas are quite different from each other.

  • The northern part of Pattaya is considered to be one of the the best places in the city for a quiet relaxing holiday. There is little transport, the beaches are clean and not crowded;
  • The central part is more suitable for lovers of night club life. Swimming here is almost impossible due to garbage and a busy road near the beach;
  • The southern part is a successful combination of lively bars and restaurants with good beaches. A separate pride of the southern region is Pratumnak Hill, where lush tropical vegetation and several small beaches for secluded recreation have been preserved.

Wongamat beach

Wongamat Beach is located in North Pattaya. Among the main advantages are:

There are no "bananas", water scooters and other noisy entertainment. Only the sea, the sun and a pleasant atmosphere. On all sides, Wong Amat is surrounded by modern high-rise hotels.
Since they all feature harmonious architecture, there is no "stone jungle" effect. Rooms in the nearest hotels are quite expensive by Thai standards: you can count on the amount of 3-4 thousand baht per day.

Hotel building with swimming pool in Pattaya

Nevertheless, it is not at all necessary to choose a hotel in the immediate vicinity of Wongamat: everyone is allowed on the beach. There are simply no serious disadvantages near the beach, but, nevertheless, there are several disadvantages:
  1. There are no cheap grocery stores like 7-11 or Family mart nearby. Of course, you can always dine in one of the nearby cafes. But if you just want to buy a bottle of water or ice cream, then you can spend a lot of time looking.
  2. There are not so many sun loungers, and there are often not enough of them for everyone.

Crescent beach

If you move further north from Wongamat, you can find a secluded place with beautiful name– Crescent Beach (Crescent Beach). Even during the tourist season from December to March, it is not very crowded here.
Crescent Beach is the quietest beach in Pattaya. It is often forgotten to be mentioned in guidebooks and not always marked on the map.

Clean and deserted Crescent Beach

However, this is an ideal place to relax alone or with a small company in the lap of nature. Near the beach there are several attractions that you should definitely visit:

  1. Temple of Truth. This is the only temple in Thailand that is made of wood. It resembles a huge fairy-tale tower, where you can meet amazing fantastic creatures from myths and legends. The entrance ticket costs 500 baht.
  2. A small water park on the territory of the Centara Grand Hotel. The slides and pools of the water park are skillfully stylized as natural waterfalls and lakes.

The tourist infrastructure near Crescent Beach is rather poorly developed compared to other areas of Pattaya. This has its advantages - you can take a break from the tireless Thai merchants who constantly offer their goods and services. However, some benefits of civilization exist here:

Jomtien beach

Jomtien is the largest beach in Pattaya. It stretches as a continuous sandy strip for six kilometers. To get to Jomtien, you need to drive to South Pattaya. Direct flights of local open minibuses do not go here, so you need to make a transfer. Here's the easiest route.

Jomtien - pretty clean beach, but inferior to the coast of North Pattaya. Compared with it, the following disadvantages are immediately evident:

  • Garbage on Jomtien is also removed, but not so quickly. After the weekend on Monday mornings, you can often see bottles and packages left over from picnics here;
  • Runs along the beach highway. And although it is not as lively as in Central Pattaya, you should not expect a good outdoor recreation here.

However, the positives of Jomtien often outweigh and many tourists stay here for months at a time.

  • clean sandy strip and transparent sea;
  • a beautiful shady grove of fan palms, where you can hide from the sun;
  • toilets and showers (unfortunately, the beaches in Pattaya are very rarely equipped with these benefits of civilization);
  • distance from the highway;
  • rental of water motorcycles;
  • rescue service, which will come to the rescue in case of emergency.

Sun loungers on Dongtan beach

Swimming on Dongtan is best in the afternoon before sunset. With the onset of twilight, they often gather here sea urchins. It happens that the whole bottom is literally strewn with these creatures, and you can swim only in slippers or sandals.

So the moment has come when it's time to collect all the beaches of Pattaya in one article, leave your feedback about each and give an assessment.
I do not pretend to objectivity, since the beaches of Pattaya, their appearance, occupancy - depends on the season.
If you are going to Pattaya on vacation and are thinking about which area to choose, this article about the beaches of Pattaya will help you make your choice.

All Pattaya beaches in detail:

Having traveled many times all the beaches of Pattaya, I can say with confidence that you can swim on the beaches of Pattaya. Yes, the sand is not as white as on Samet,
(in Pattaya it is yellow everywhere), but in Pattaya there are clean beaches with clear water.

Dongtan is also considered the beach of the LGBT community. That's right, part of Dongtan Beach is really occupied by kissing men.
If you don't like this sight, just go a little further. The blue part of the beach starts at the very beginning of Dongtan (from the intersection with
Jomtien) and ends after 100 meters.

Dongtan beach is quite clean. In summer, it is generally almost flawless and it is pleasant to look at it and walk along this beach.
I can also please mothers with children and prams, along Dongtan Beach there is a footpath along which you can walk to the hotel
Royal Beach View. It is long and without car traffic. (There are hours restricting the entry of vehicles).

The entrance to the sea on Dongtan is gentle, you can swim with children, there are many Russian vacationers from neighboring hotels in Pattaya Park and other adjacent ones.
There are sun loungers, boat rental, you can ride a kite, in general, everything is nice and positive.
I advise families, as well as people with limited mobility, who will have difficulty moving in other areas,
Sidewalks in Pattaya are almost never provided.

Cozy Beach and Royal Cliff Hotel Beach

All beaches in Thailand are public. Or rather, not so, they all belong to the King, and he, in turn, allows the people to use any beach at their discretion.
But you will run into confusion when you try to explain this to the guard at the Royal Cliff Hotel or the Dusit Thani Hotel, as well as
the guards of all other beaches adjacent to expensive hotels.

I'm sorry to disappoint people who paid crazy money to stay at Centara Grand, but in my opinion the beach there is just awful.
Muddy dump, heaps of garbage, waste drain.

Yes, and the hotel itself is similar to Turkish - a lot of people, ala-all inclusive. It doesn't look like Thailand at all.

Beach at Asia hotel and hotel Cabbage and condoms

, which you just won’t get to if you don’t know about it.
It is impossible to wander into it by chance from neighboring beaches, since the beach at the Asia Hotel is surrounded by rocks and is located in a tiny bay.

Only about 100 meters of beach strip and few people.
Clean, beautiful, there are sunbeds for 50 - 80 baht, there are 2 cafes, I wrote about it as the best beach in Pattaya, which it is in the off season. During the season (November to March) it loses some of its charm because people drive up.
Well, the rest of the year is perfect for family vacation. There are no people, the sea is clear, beauty!

The beaches of Na Jomtien - Ambassador, Dor Shada

Na Jomtien hotels – Dor Shada, Ravindra, Botany Beach, Ambassador

If you happened to get to Pattaya through the Ambassador Hotel, not everything is so bad. No, it’s bad, of course, because the Ambassador
is located outside the city of Pattaya, from there it is rather dreary to get to the center and you are essentially confined to this piece of land.
But the beach at the Ambassador and adjacent hotels is quite tolerable.

Rayong Beaches - photos and reviews

How to save money on a hotel or apartment on vacation?

I'm looking on the Rumguru website. It contains absolutely all discounts on hotels and apartments from 30 booking systems, including booking. Often I find very profitable options, it turns out to save from 30 to 80%

How to save on insurance?

You need insurance abroad. Any admission is very expensive and the only way not to pay out of pocket is to choose an insurance policy in advance. For many years we have been making out on the site that give the best prices It takes only a couple of minutes for insurance and selection along with registration.

Phew, like everything? If you have any questions about the beaches of Pattaya and the surrounding area, you can ask them in the comments.

Today we will provide you with information about all the main beaches of Pattaya, show photos and take them short description with all the advantages and disadvantages. We will also talk about the best beaches that are located in the vicinity of Pattaya and which can be very easily reached on your own.

As a rule, when choosing a particular hotel and area to stay in Pattaya, most tourists are guided by several criteria, such as the proximity of shops and markets, the availability of public transport, entertainment, and, of course, the quality and cleanliness of the beach. There are very few hotels in Pattaya that have their own private beach. Perhaps the most famous of them is the Ambassador City, which since last year has banned access to its territory for all outside visitors. So the vast majority of tourists in Pattaya use public beaches.

Pattaya beaches on the map

Along with Central, Jomtien Beach is one of the two largest beaches in Pattaya. Jomtien Beach stretches for four kilometers along Jomtien Road, where all the most popular hotels in the area are located, as well as a huge number of all kinds of cafes, restaurants, shops, mini markets, currency exchange offices, tourist kiosks selling excursions, etc. Those. there is everything that a tourist needs for a comfortable pastime.

Because of such large sizes, Jomtien beach is very diverse in terms of conditions for recreation: somewhere the coastline is very wide and there is an opportunity to run and play various active games, and somewhere it is very narrow, sunbeds are literally by the water. The same can be said about the cleanliness and well-groomedness of this beach. Somewhere the sand is cleaned very carefully and regularly, but somewhere the garbage is practically not monitored. But during the high tourist season, from December to March, local entrepreneurs still try to keep the beach in good condition. But when the flow of tourists to Pattaya is sharply reduced, Jomtien Beach is occupied locals and the beach looks rather deplorable. Thais don't really care about the environment.

From active entertainment on this beach there is a windsurfing rental, a large volleyball court (opposite the Pattaya Night Market), a jet ski rental, and of course banana riding.

Photos of Jomtien Beach in Pattaya:

Next to Jomtien Beach is another very popular Pattaya beach - Dongtan. Due to the large number of gay people who, for some unknown reason, prefer to relax in this place, it is also called Pattaya's main gay beach. But to be honest, it did not seem to us that the concentration of gays and lesbians there is higher than anywhere else in the city, although who knows. In any case, Dongtan Beach makes a rather pleasant impression, it is very different from other beaches in Pattaya. Its main feature is the presence of a cozy, well-groomed palm grove, in which it is very pleasant to hide from the scorching sun and, for example, have a small picnic. There you can also use the services of local massage therapists.

Pratumnak Beach is one of the cleanest and most well-groomed beaches in Pattaya, and also has a fairly wide coastline, which is perfect for lovers of active pastime and self rest(no sunbed rental).

The beach area is regularly cleaned and kept in almost perfect order (as far as possible in the peak of the tourist season).

Also on Pratamnak Beach there is a shady grove where you can hide from the sun.

Active entertainment on the beach: banana rides, jet ski rental.

Cozy Beach is the most unusual and most atypical beach in Pattaya. It is located far from the bustle of the city, in a quiet place behind Pratumnak Hill. Being on this beach one gets the feeling that you are relaxing somewhere on the island, but certainly not in the city.

On the public transport you can't get to Cozy Beach. You need to go there either by bike / car or by taxi. For those who are staying in South Pattaya or in the Pratumnak area, this will not be too expensive.

Right behind the Pattaya Park water park is another beach where you can have a good time. This beach is quite small, but quite clean and comfortable. It is within walking distance from the tower, so for those who stay there, the beach Pattaya Park and would be perfect for relaxing.

Active entertainment on the beach: banana rides, rentjet ski, windsurfing, two volleyball courts..

The largest, noisiest and relatively dirty beach in Pattaya. Mostly Europeans rest there, for whom the quality of sand and water does not play a special role, the main thing is to have a taechka and beer at hand; or those who are just too lazy to go to Koh Lan or any other city beach.

There is nothing to do with children on the Central Beach. All along coastline there is a very busy road with incessant heavy traffic and constant traffic jams. This circumstance has a corresponding effect on air quality and noise production. So it is unlikely that you will be able to rest in silence there.

And further Pattaya Beach is famous for the frequent cases of divorces of Russians and foreign tourists money for allegedly damaged jet skis. So renting water equipment there is strongly not recommended.

But in general, despite all its shortcomings, Pattaya Beach is a very beautiful city beach for everyone. In the high teristic season, everything is pretty decent in terms of cleanliness and order.

Very nice clean beach in North Pattaya (Naklua area). It is distinguished by a wide coastline and a large amount of high-quality sand, on which it is very pleasant to sunbathe without a sunbed. It is also believed that this beach has the cleanest water in the sea in the city of Pattaya. Perhaps this is the case, at least in appearance the water does seem to be quite clean.

We consider the main disadvantage of Wongamat beach to be the lack of places where you can hide from the scorching sun. Rare palm trees planted along the coast do not save at all.

Wongamat Beach is located away from busy roads, so it is very pleasant to relax there. Along the coastline are the most expensive and prestigious Pattaya hotels(who actually keep the beach clean), as well as several cafes and impromptu massage parlors with beautiful sea views.

While walking along Wongamat Beach, we stumbled upon the super star of the world strongman, Mikhail Koklyaev. So we can say that Misha and two other kachers recommend this beach.

  1. Pratumnak Beach;
  2. Dongtan;
  3. Wongamat;
  4. Cozy Beach;
  5. Jomtien;
  6. Central beach.

Thailand attracts tourists from all over the world primarily with its warm climate and sea. But, often the city coasts are not cleaned and it is not comfortable to rest on them.

Pattaya Beach is the dirtiest and noisiest. Its length is about 3 km, but it is located just along a busy highway. Cars constantly drive here and vacationers breathe exhaust fumes. They clean it only once a week, and during this time mountains of garbage and food waste are collected. Swimming here is not recommended. We were on this coast only once, but we didn’t want to stay, we went to a cleaner one. I don't know how tourists can swim here.

The coast of Jomtien is considered much neater. There are tents and shops within walking distance. It is the owners of these establishments who monitor the cleanliness so that people come and rest here. They are directly interested in people and in their revenue from tourists. Here you can do popular water sports sports. The depth is shallow, so there are many families with small children. on this beach several times we rested with the whole family, I didn’t like only one thing - very noisy and intrusive sellers. If you want to take a nap on a sun lounger, they will immediately wake you up and start offering souvenirs, ice cream or other little things. I really wanted to hang a sign on myself like in a hotel with the inscription "do not disturb".

Na Jomtien Beach is located next to the previous one and ends in the suburbs of Pattaya. The water cleavage is gentle and has different depths, this allows you to relax with children or scuba dive. Along there are paid sun loungers and umbrellas, small traders walk around and fishermen sell fresh catch. There are many restaurants and shops on the coast. Sitting on a sun lounger near a cafe, you can catch Wi-Fi and surf the Internet right on the seashore. It is not so crowded here, you can sunbathe, swim and have a delicious meal in a cafe nearby.

Naklua - this beach is located in the north. There are no shops, restaurants and hotels on the beach. Therefore, it is quiet and calm, but you need to stock up on food and drink, since the nearest store is located a kilometer from the sea. It was on this coast that we spent the rest of our vacation. They bought food, water and fruits at the market and got there by tuk-tuk. They say the islands are even better. but, unfortunately, we did not get to them.
