The Urals are famous for their oldest mountains and the ski resorts located on them, of which there are already more than 50. Many of them are equipped and have service no worse than in Europe. The mountain slopes of the Urals will delight tourists of all ages, young and old, and provide excellent opportunities for athletes of any skill level.

The most ski slopes in the Urals are in Bashkiria, V Chelyabinsk And Sverdlovsk regions. Here is a list of the main ski resorts with their location, climate and advantages:
- Bashkiria:
- Abzakovo, 65 km from the city of Magnitogorsk. This resort is well equipped technically, has a large number of trails and a sufficient number of lifts. There are pistes for freeriders and many pistes for beginner skiers.
- Mratkino, Beloretsk, 40 km from Magnitogorsk. A fairly large center with 8 tracks, famous for its large elevation changes, and has tracks for slalom and giant slalom. It is believed that this ski was one of the first built in the Urals.
- Chelyabinsk region:
- Sunny Valley, Miass. The most beautiful resort Ural. There is a unique track - a double track for the Olympic ski cross. Absolutely all trails are illuminated for evening skiing, their condition is always excellent, as they are processed by snowcats twice a day. The lifts have a ski pass system.
- Metallurg-Magnitogorsk(Resort "Bannoe"), 40 km from Magnitogorsk. The resort is the youngest and has excellent technical equipment, for example, it has gondola lifts. The complex offers an extensive entertainment program, including paintball, karting, massage and much more. It has its own rescue service. There is a tubing track and a separate track for snowboarders with its own rope tow.
- Zavyalikha, Trekhgorny. An ideal ski resort for snowboarders. It has an unusual and interesting additional entertainment program, for example, paragliding or hang gliding.
- Adzhigardak, Asha, 300 km from Chelyabinsk. This resort has the largest number of slopes among all the ski slopes in the Urals, and there are all levels of difficulty from the simplest to the most difficult. The resort has a snowboard park and a trail for night skiing. The resort is suitable for families with children, there is children's entertainment and a games room with a nanny.
The climate here is continental, winters are cold, frosty and usually snowy, the average January temperature is 19 °C. The snow cover forms by mid-November and remains for about 5 months.
- Sverdlovsk region
:
- Flux, 40 km from the city. The largest ski complex in the Urals. Both beginners and super-professionals will enjoy skiing; the resort has more than 20 trails of all difficulty levels, 6 trails are illuminated in the evening. The center offers jumps, rails for snowboarders, and a snow park.
- Mount Voronin, Mikhailovsk. This resort was once nicknamed the Little Ural for its beautiful views with spruce and fir forests and snow-capped hills. The ski resort has 10 slopes, which are well groomed by snowcat.
Climate continental, winter is consistently frosty. The average January temperature is -19 -20 °C.
- Perm region:
- Gubakha, village Pervomaisky. The resort is second in the number of tracks in the Urals, first in the number of the most difficult “black” tracks (5 pieces). We love skiers for the variety of slopes and large amounts of natural snow.
- Tuckman, 5 km from the city of Chusovoy, 130 km from Perm. This resort is the easternmost in Europe. Due to its location, there are almost no strong winds here, which plagues tourists. The ski resort is quite large and has 10 slopes of all difficulty levels.
The climate is temperate continental, winters are cold, long, and consistently snowy. The snow cover forms by the end of October and remains for almost 6 months. January temperatures, on average, range from -15 to -19 °C.
- Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous region
:
Stone Cape, within the city of Surgut. The most famous and popular resort in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. It is one of the ten largest ski resorts in the Urals, has 10 slopes and 6 rope tows. Its slopes are always maintained in excellent condition.
Climate temperate continental, the winter is long, harsh, snow lies for a long time. The temperature in January is usually -19 -23°C.
Abzakovo is the best among Ural mountains skis on additional services, including for children, for example, has a small zoo and an indoor water park.
Climate at the resorts continental with fairly cold winters. January temperatures are usually between -15 and -18 °C. Snow cover usually forms by the beginning.

Resort rating

Abzakovo
The resort is located on the eastern slopes of the South Ural Mountains. "Abzakovo" is considered the best ski resort in the Urals, it has all the conditions for a magnificent winter holiday the whole family.
Russian teams in cross-country skiing, biathlon and alpine skiing train here, stages of the Russian Cup are held, as well as sports events and festivals.
Located 65 km from the city of Magnitogorsk. The resort is also interesting for beginners; there are separate trails for them.
- How to get there: to the city of Magnitogorsk (you can from major cities), then by bus or minibus 60 km to Abzakovo.
- Riding season: from November to , there is artificial snow.
- Trails: 13 pieces (3 “red”, 5 “blue”, 5 “green”), maximum length 3280 m, height difference 320 m.
- Lifts: 6 rope tows and 1 chairlift.

The resort offers many entertainment: small zoo, children's playgrounds, skating rink, indoor water park, spa complex, biathlon center, cross-country skiing, horse riding, cheesecake and snowmobile trails. There are equipped picnic areas.
Abzakovo has the widest choice from point of view placement and on its territory (with a total of more than 1000 places) and a few kilometers from it there are more than 20 options. Closest to the ski lifts "Sport Hotel", they are only 100 meters away. The hotel offers 2 categories of rooms: double and quadruple. The rooms are very comfortable and cozy, but one-room (even four-bed).
Also on the territory of Abzakovo you can stay in one of the 5 dacha log houses(cottages) and in holiday home "Abzakovo"(2 km from the ski slope), then you will get to the top of the slope using a double chair lift (or by a special bus).
Adzhigardak
A very popular resort in the Urals, they plan to expand it to 22 more trails, although even now it has a sufficient number of trails of all types of difficulty. The resort has its own hotel; families with children can come.
- How to get there: by train to the Asha station, then follow the signs to the ski resort, from nearby cities you can get there by bus.
- Skiing season: November to April.
- Trails: 4 (3 “black”, 4 “red”, 5 “blue”, 2 “green”), maximum length 3500 m, elevation difference 400 m.
- Lifts: 9 rope tows.
The resort offers recreation: a snowboard park, a track for night skiing, a children's sports school, a children's room with a nanny, snow tubing, an ice rink, snowmobiles, a sauna complex, barbecue gazebos, and billiards.
The ski center has more than 10 cottages with different capacities. Or you can stay in hotels in the city of Asha.
Metallurg-Magnitogorsk
Enough young And perfectly equipped ski resort in the Southern Ural Mountains. This resort was the first in our country to be equipped with gondolas - high-speed lifts with eight-seater cabins. On its tracks there will be a place for beginners to ride and experienced athletes not to get bored; there is a half-pipe for extreme sports enthusiasts.
Lifts are equipped ski pass(skipass is a small card with a microchip that allows access to the ski lifts). Beginners have a separate training track with their own lift and the opportunity to hire an instructor.
- How to get there: first to Magnitogorsk, then by bus or minibus to Lake Bannoe. Or you can get to, and from there take a paid bus 2 times a week directly to the resort.
- Riding season: from November to May, as artificial snowmaking systems are used.
- Trails: 8 pieces (3 “red”, 3 “blue”, 2 “green”), maximum length 3000 m, height difference 450 m.
- Lifts: 3 rope tows and 1 gondola.
The resort has ski and snowboard rentals, 2 parking lots, a cafe, and the “Mountain Gorge” restaurant at the very top of the mountain.
The resort offers extensive recreation program: paintball, karting, bicycle karts, rope course, cycling routes, gym, massage room, discos, winter fishing, river rafting and even excursions to nature reserves.
Accommodation here should not be a problem; in addition to hotels and hotels, there is a recreation center and a sanatorium.
The closest accommodation to the ski resort is in bungalow on "Banny" (600 m to the GLC). There are two-room, three-room, four-room and six-room bungalows with a maximum capacity of 10 people.
It will be much cheaper to stay in nearby sanatoriums and recreation centers. If they don't suit you, there's also a hotel "Europe", but she is already 40 kilometers from the resort.
Zavyalikha
The resort is located in the Chelyabinsk region in the city of Trekhgorny. Zavyalikha ideal for snowboarders, it is she who hosts international snowboarding competitions and where Russian teams train. "Zavyalikha" is good for family vacation. Each route has the name of semi-precious stones that are mined in the Urals.
- How to get there: to Ufa or Chelyabinsk, then by train to the Vyazovaya station, then 20 km by taxi or by bus 113.

- Trails: 12 pieces (1 “black”, 7 “red”, 1 “blue”, 5 “green”), maximum length 3100 m, height difference 430 m.
- Lifts: 3 rope tows and 2 chairlifts.
The resort offers interesting entertainment program: paintball, paragliding and hang gliding, horse riding, winter kiting, hiking to Mount Iremel, visiting the national natural park.
There are rescuers and a medical aid station on site. The lifts are equipped with a ski pass.
The resort does not have its own hotel, but you can choose "Stone Flower" 15 minutes drive from the ski resort (4 km), the Trekhgorny hotel, Yuryuzan, or the private sector.
Sunny Valley
This beautiful resort one of the most famous in the Urals. The Chelyabinsk Region Governor's Cup is taking place here.
- How to get there: first to the city of Miass at any convenient vehicle, from there 10 km by bus or taxi.
- Season: from November to April.
- Trails: 11 pieces (4 “red”, 4 “blue”, 3 “green”), maximum length 1300 m, height difference 230 m.
- Lifts: 6 rope tows and 1 chairlift.
The resort offers: ice skating rink, alpine sled, tubing for children and adults, cross-country skiing, snowmobiles, ATVs.
Tourists with children can visit an ice town with slides, a children's room, and a ski kindergarten.
Eat rental services, work instructor school And rescue service.
The resort has 3 own cottages. The resort is mainly busy on weekends; on weekdays it is quite free. If there are no places available, you can stay in private sector 4-8 kilometers from the resort.
Flux
This huge ski resort, with 24 tracks, several clubs operate on its territory. The HappyLife club is the most popular; its trainers teach the basics of skiing, there is ski equipment rental and a hot food station. Flux is only a ski resort, there are no other types of recreation there.
In general, this is a fairly democratic place, there are not very many vacationers, everything is modest and inexpensive.
- How to get there: there is no own bus, you can get there from Yekaterinburg by train in the directions “Druzhinino” or “Revda” to the “Flus” station, then you will need to walk a little less than a kilometer.
- High season: from December to April, highly dependent on the weather, since there is no own snowmaking system.
- Slopes: 24 pieces (3 “black”, 6 “red”, 8 “blue”, 7 “green”), maximum length 600 m, height difference 90 m.
- Lifts: 11 rope tows.
There is a free one guarded parking lot. There are no additional forms of leisure.
Own no hotel, you will need to get to Pervouralsk.
Gubakha
This is a wonderful resort in the Perm region, it is interesting for beginners - there are flat and long routes, as well as for professionals, especially those who love freeride.
- How to get there: to the city of Perm, then by train to the Gubakha station, then to the ski resort by taxi or other transport.
- Riding season: from November to April.
- Availability of trails: 17 pieces (5 “black”, 7 “red”, 2 “blue”, 3 “green”), maximum length 3280 m, height difference 320 m.
- Lifts: 6 rope tows and 1 chairlift.
The resort offers a bathhouse, various catering establishments, and a children's room. There is a snow park and tubing.
The ski resort is equipped with its own hotel, where children under 7 years old can stay - for free. You can also choose any hotel in the city of Gubakha or stay in the private sector.

Entertainment
One of the favorite winter activities is skiing and snowboarding in the mountains. Both children and adults enjoy this kind of leisure time. You can go together, a large cheerful company or a friendly family.
In the Urals there is a resort to suit everyone’s taste: with a large number of slopes, minimal service and affordable prices, or with excellent infrastructure and a varied entertainment program.
What else can you do at a ski resort besides skiing on the slopes? Let's call most common types of recreation:
- Tubing– this safe, fun type of recreation is very popular with both children and adults;

Some centers are equipped with gazebos, sometimes even insulated, and next to them there are barbecues for self-cooking over a fire, which is also very popular with Russian tourists.

With kids

Ural offers resorts in different wallet: from budget to expensive. If you choose a center with reasonable prices, then a day of skiing will cost about 300 rubles, ski rental 200-300 rubles per hour, snowboard rental - 450 rubles per day.
At expensive resorts the lift will cost starting from 500 rubles per day, ski and snowboard rental 400-500 rubles per hour. The price of a hotel depends on its category; it is better to book places in advance in order to stay as close and convenient as possible to the ski center.

Alexander: Convenient chairlift, long, varied slopes, there is a park under construction for snowboarders, but not the best. The infrastructure is very developed. It’s worth going there precisely because of the length and variety of slopes. Suitable for those who like to ride on more difficult slopes, but do not want to travel far.
Galina: There is a steep section, but it is a little short. And the upper and lower sections are flat. There is a very good cable car for beginners with a low slope and a good medium slope. This mountain is not suitable for advanced professionals. For vacationers - beauty. And a skating rink, and a hotel, and a beautiful forest. In the evening with lighting - like in a fairy tale.

2. GC "Mount Volchikha" (40 km from Ekaterinburg)
Alexander: It’s convenient to get here from Yekaterinburg. The trails are varied and of average level. A snowboard park is currently being built. This slope is for a weekend with the whole family.
Galina: There are four routes. The first one is good for training, but not suitable for pros: a steep start, and then everything is gentle.

3. GLC “Aist” on Mount Dolgoy(Nizhny Tagil)
Galina: There is a complex of jumps there, and off to the side there is a small track about 800 meters away. For those who want to learn how to ride and those who do not want to travel far from Nizhny Tagil, it is quite suitable.

4. GC “Ezhovaya”(8 km from Kirovgrad)
Alexander: Similar to Belaya, in the same area. The routes vary in length and steepness. Unfortunately, there are no snowboard parks. And it opens later than many. It is loved by snowboarders in turning disciplines precisely because of the steepness of the slopes. There is one difficult route.
Galina: In my opinion, this is the best track in the Sverdlovsk region. There is the Andrei track, made back in 1972, very good - steep start, tough. There is also a pre-perestroika sports track.

5. Mount Kachkanar(270 km north of Yekaterinburg)
Galina: On the first lift it is very gentle, and if you go higher, there is a varied, sometimes steep slope. There is no infrastructure there as such yet. A large ski complex there is still only a project.

6. GLK "Mount Deciduous" (6 km from Berezovsky)
Alexander: A simple route for family recreation, not for professionals.
Galina: A small flat track, definitely not for those who know how to ski.

7. Mount Pilnaya(38 km from Ekaterinburg)
Alexander: One of the most popular mountains is located in Pervouralsk. The trails are of average level, not particularly long. A snowboard park is being built there for snowboarders and freestylers. Suitable for family holidays, very convenient location.
Galina: Suitable for vacationers, but not very good for sports. There is no infrastructure at the foot of it, it’s just a mountain so that the family can occasionally travel from the city.

8. GC “Gora Tyoplaya”(43 km from Ekaterinburg)
Alexander: Very good training slope, good for children, well equipped. It is long and gentle, with a slope of no more than 2 degrees - good for those who are afraid. There is one track with a serious slope, but it is short.
Galina: Good, but short, there is a good children's mountain. But there is no hotel nearby, there is only a cafe and a hot tub.

9. GC "Stozhok"(Near the village of Tavatuy)
Alexander: It’s not very popular, so there’s even an opportunity to ride in “powder”.
Galina: There is a very steep slope there, you can practice slalom. It's quite short, but steep. There is a circular hill, it is more for tourists.

10. GLC "Melnichnaya"(Verkhnyaya Salda)
Galina: I only heard about this mountain, but I didn’t go there. They say that the locals loved it.
Alexander: The most popular mountain in the Sverdlovsk region due to its location within the city. It has a snowboarding and skiing school. There are training and sports trails, and a snowboard park is built every year. The infrastructure is ideal for trips and on weekdays. However, the slopes are small, slightly lower than on Pilnaya and Teplaya. The wolf is a little taller.

12. Mount Flux(40 km from Ekaterinburg)
Alexander: Comfortable skiing on powder.
Galina: Previously, there were clearings and mounds with “powder”.
13. OSK "Abzakovo"(Bashkiria, 60 km from Magnitogorsk)
Alexander: Ideal for family vacations. One of the longest and largest trails with great variety and different slopes. There are various hotels, cafes, holiday homes, cottages right on the mountain, a water park, bowling alley, clubs and more. Russian President Vladimir Putin sometimes rides there. The tracks in Abzakovo are much longer and more interesting than in the Sverdlovsk region, all together. International competitions in slalom, giant slalom and the Russian Cup in parallel slalom on snowboard are held there.
Galina: There are a lot of trails at the GLC. Routes 4.5 and 11 are very sporty and good. You can even train the Russian national team there. The infrastructure is excellent.

14. GLK "Bannoye"(Bashkiria, 40 km from Magnitogorsk)
Alexander: The resort benefits from the lift - there are cabins. The tracks are slightly inferior in condition compared to Abzakovo. Snow from the top is blown away by the wind, so there is often ice there. The routes are the same as in Abzakovo. The infrastructure is also very developed - everything is there. Bannoye is closer to Magnitogorsk. At the top there is a wonderful cafe with sky-high prices and sky-high mountain views.
Galina: A wonderful resort in every sense: both in terms of pistes and infrastructure. If you ask me where I would recommend going for a ride, I would say Bannoye.

15. GLC "Mratkino" (Bashkiria, Beloretsk)
Alexander: I know that this “alpine skiing” near Beloretsk has been greatly developed in recent years, new slopes are being built.
Galina: Northern slope- generally steep, beautiful, the other two are flatter.

16. GC "Adzhigardak"(Chelyabinsk region, Asha)
Alexander: Previously, this was a very popular slope, even major Russian competitions were held there. There is a deep "puffy" there.
Galina: This is a very worthwhile complex. There are several houses for accommodation there, but the hotel is only in the city. The mountains are interesting.

17. GLK "Egoza"(Chelyabinsk region, from Ekaterinburg - 150 km)
Alexander: It is not inferior in height to Uktus and Pilnaya. Egoza is not open yet; artificial snowmaking is not turned on there. There is powder for freeride. Very beautiful nature, gorgeous views.

18. Central Administrative District "Eurasia" on Mount Kusa(Kusa)
Galina: This is a new, very developing ski center with an incredibly beautiful view. That year it was more popular among professional riders.

19. GLC "Minyar"(Chelyabinsk region, 120 km to Ufa)
Galina: I was there when there was no civilization yet. Very good mountains, snow in excellent condition. There may even be drag lifts left there.

20. GLC "Ryder"(Chelyabinsk region, Miass)
Alexander: Used for training athletes. There are two small trails there. But there is a developed infrastructure, cheap prices for housing and ski lifts. There is a very good snowboard park there, there is a slope for turning disciplines, there is a cushion from which snowboarders jump, and a hotel on the territory of the GLC.

21. GC "Solnechnaya Dolina"(Chelyabinsk region,230 km from Ekaterinburg)
Alexander: One of the most developing GLCs, the size of Belaya and Ezhovaya. There are a variety of slopes and lifts, there is a snowboard park and a slope for children, and a school for children. Prices are a little higher than everywhere else.
Galina: It’s wonderful here. There are all conditions for skiing. Every year it gets better and better. The mountain was opened only in 2003, but every year there are more and more trails.

22. GLC "Gubakha"(Perm region, Pervomaisky village)
Alexander: If it snows, then you need to go to Gubakha. In terms of powder, this track is the best. In addition, there are mountains and forests where freeriders can ride. There are houses with budget prices, bathhouses in private houses - and all this is within walking distance from the mountain.
Galina: There is dusty snow there. Sometimes all the dust from the factory settles on the snow. It was hard to breathe before.

Alexander: Low, but very beautiful route, not far from Perm. Seven trails of varying difficulty and developed infrastructure for family skiing.

In the Urals there are over 40 operating ski resorts and bases with equipped slopes. And this is not the limit, in recent years ski holiday the region is gaining momentum: new trails are being laid, lifts are gradually being updated, and new places are even appearing on the map of the Ural ski resorts.
The best ski resorts in the Urals
Abzakovo
Where is: Southern Urals, Bashkortostan, eastern slopes of the Krykty-Tau ridge;
