Fishing in September. Morning parties are getting stronger, frost is settling more often, and the water temperature continues to decline. The leaves turn yellow and leaves begin to fall. In some places, falling leaves cover the surface of the water in a dense layer. IN good weather Perches, roaches, breams, roaches like to stand under them (fish do not gather under a layer of fallen alder leaves). It is successfully caught with a float rod using a worm, a jig or a small spoon. Aquatic plants turn brown, partially curl up and sink to the bottom. Underwater thickets are thinning. The mollusks, crustaceans, and worms that inhabit them burrow into the silt. The fish go to deeper places. The water becomes even clearer.

The bite of bream and carp gradually worsens, and by the end of the month it stops completely. In warm weather, small bream and crucian carp continue to be caught on bloodworms and worms until the first ten days of the next month.

In lakes and ponds, roach with bloodworms, perch and small pike with fry are well caught; in rivers, at medium depths, mainly near bushes, asp are used for bleak. Hunting with bottom fishing rods for chub and ide and frogs continues (in the first half of the night and early morning hours). The chub also readily takes on minnows and chicken intestines. In the second half of the month, burbot begins to be found on the riffles. When fishing for bloodworms and maggots, they successfully fish for roach, bream, underwater, chub, roach and mainly dace. In the second ten days there is an autumn feeding of pike on deep places. They catch it with a spinning rod, mugs, a track and float rods. Zander bites are rare. The best results are obtained by sheer trolling on winter spinners in deep snags.

Quiet, cloudy days are most favorable for fishing. Light, drizzling rain does not affect the pike bite. Fishing for burbot is more effective on dark, stormy nights. In September it is especially interesting to fish with spinning rods, mugs and float rods for fry. When the weather is favorable, fishing for grasshoppers continues on the lakes. In small rivers, fishing with jigs near the banks is interesting. On the riffles at night there are chub bites for gudgeons (bottom fishing rods).

  • Chub bite at depth from the bottom, especially well if you use crayfish necks, cracklings, and eels as bait.
  • Roach and dace continue to peck until the frosts, to catch them, as the fisherman’s calendar for September advises, is best at the bottom using bloodworms and maggots.
  • In September, asp takes only from the bottom; bites on live bait will be especially frequent.
  • The ruff finally goes into deep holes with a muddy bottom and catches well on worms and bloodworms.
  • Perch also gathers in large schools in holes with a sandy bottom; the fisherman’s calendar for September recommends using fry and worms as bait, but you can also catch perch using a spoon.

Light, drizzling rain does not affect the pike bite. If the weather is warm, you can fish for pike at shallow depths; in cool weather, pike go to greater depths. In September, pike should be caught in places bordering on flooded snags and aquatic vegetation. In the second ten days, the autumn feeding of pike in deep places begins. They catch it with a spinning rod, with mugs, a track and float rods. The best results are obtained by vertical trolling with winter spoons in deep, cluttered holes. The active bite of pike allows you to use a lot of baits: in September, pike bites on almost anything that even remotely resembles its food. At the end of September, when the water becomes too transparent, it is better to use wobblers.

Perch fishing in September

The angler's calendar suggests that the location of the perch in September depends on the migration of the fry. In calm weather, perch fishing will be more successful in shallow water, and in consistently cold weather, expect perch to bite in deep water. In September, perch continues to bite on red worms, leeches, and small baitfish. You can successfully catch perch with bloodworms, grasshoppers, dragonflies, perch eyes, or with a spinning rod using a small spoon with a metal leash. The lunar calendar is one of the most ancient on the planet. And this is no coincidence: the change of lunar phases in the sky is noticeable to the naked eye, visible even to the uninitiated. The Moon revolves around the Earth and, being half illuminated by the Sun, first appears to us to be increasing and then decreasing.

The lunar cycle lasts about 29.5 Earth days - from one new moon to the next, going through four phases, also called quarters. An ordinary lunar day lasts from the rising of the moon until its next rising. A lunar day is longer than a solar one, and the moon rises the next day always later than on the previous day. Moonrise occurs not only at night, but also on a clear day - probably everyone has at least once observed both the sun and the moon in the sky at the same time.

A lunar day is counted from the rising of the Moon. For different geographical coordinates will turn out the same way as with the sunrise (either earlier or later), because just as the Earth rotates around the Sun, so the Moon rotates around the Earth. The difference is that for the Sun the period is a year, and for the Moon it is a lunar month.

According to the fisherman's lunar calendar:

1) Fish bite best on the fourth and fifth days after the first quarter of the month; these two days are the most promising for fishing in any month.

2) Three days before the full moon and until the fourth day after this phase of the moon, the fish bite will be mediocre.

3) Two days before the last quarter of the Moon and two days after - the forecast for the bite is unfavorable.

4) Starting from the third day after the last quarter of the Moon and until the new moon, the fish will bite very poorly.

5) Within four days after the new moon, fishermen will experience a good fish bite.

Since the moon has such a huge influence on all processes on our planet, it is worth considering its impact in the field of fishing, because it controls currents, including ocean currents, ebbs and flows, and even affects our well-being and the growth of trees. Fish is no less dependent on the lunar cycle, and observations that have been carried out for decades will allow us to predict its reaction to one or another of its phases.

The full lunar cycle is divided into new moon, waxing moon, full moon and waning moon, which ultimately last 29 and a half days. Particular activity is observed during the waxing and waning phases. Now in more detail about each of them.

The new moon is the most unstable phase for going fishing. Two days before it, the bite begins to noticeably deteriorate, and about 4 days after it, the fish’s activity gradually returns to normal.

When the moon reappears in the sky, the bite begins to stabilize. Two days before the onset of the first quarter, the bite reaches its peak. This effect lasts up to 4 days.

The full moon is the most unpredictable phase. Often, at this time, the fry become active, schools of which take the bait away from the big fish and distract predators.

The last quarter is a sign of the peak monthly bite, in addition to being the longest. This effect is achieved just 2 days after the full moon and lasts 3-4 days after the last quarter itself.

Naturally, the fish is not familiar with the concept of astronomy, but such things as gravity and pressure make themselves felt to absolutely everyone, and the strength of these processes is controlled, among other things, by our constant satellite. To no lesser extent, the behavior of fish is dictated by instincts that are much older than many of us could imagine. Thus, the ancestors of all, without exception, freshwater fish that live in our reservoirs were once inhabitants of the world’s oceans, where an untimely response to the ebb and flow of the tides could cost one’s life. The habit is so ingrained that, having gone through a long chain of evolution and the most severe cataclysms, it has survived to this day, and is passed on from one generation of fish to the next. In addition to putting pressure on our atmosphere, the moon also plays a very important role as a source of light at night, especially in the summer and autumn seasons.

The angler's lunar calendar presented below is not a dogma, but it is one of the most important factors that should be taken into account after checking the weather forecast when planning a fishing trip. The separate role of the moon phase in fishing was emphasized by the world famous fisherman and writer L.P. Sabaneev, recording his numerous observations, and his contribution to the theory of fishing is valued to this day.

We hope that the lunar calendar for 2016 presented below will help you choose the most favorable day to go fishing, because it is based on numerous observations and statistics conducted over many years of studying fish behavior. By combining the angler's lunar calendar with weather forecasts, you can set the right time to catch your best trophy.

Fishing in January is extremely lively and exciting. Really strong ice has finally taken root on reservoirs. Even before sunrise you can hear the dull tapping of ice picks and the grinding of ice drills. All bodies of water, from large and fast ones to small lakes, are gradually turning into a sieve of fishing holes.

Success on winter fishing is dictated mainly by the low temperature, which maintains the ice, thanks to which anglers are able to visit the hottest places in the reservoir, without having anything other than a drill and a small winter fishing rod. Other weather factors, according to covered with ice water, play practically no role. Fish reacts to changes in lunar phases exclusively instinctively. As long as the oxygen balance remains normal, the activity of fish that have not hibernated is now at its best. From the moment the ice begins to form, within two weeks there is a peak bite, especially predatory fish, such as perch, are fattening. Such a giant as burbot will soon go through a spawning period, before which it will be extremely indiscriminate in fishing baits.

The fish are finally switching to animal baits; now even the ubiquitous and hungry roach will not bite on bread. White fish do not stray far from their winter shelters and find food exclusively at the bottom of the reservoir. The transparency of the water has noticeably increased, and therefore the fish will be extremely suspicious and picky about the proposed bait. In the case of roach and bream, the best bait is a bloodworm, especially in combination with a worm, which will completely cover the shank of the hook.

Fishing will be done using winter fishing rods, with a nod or a float. The reel ceases to have any meaning other than the convenience of equipping the tackle, which is not so convenient to wield on the ice with frozen fingers. The thickness of the fishing line is of great importance now; the slightest excess simply deprives you of the bite. You can find out about the optimal fishing line thickness in our “Fisherman’s Calendar”, which is published once a week on the TV channel’s website.

Predatory fish will set up camps near the habitats of fry and small fish. Pike and perch will be especially active after freeze-up. The latter will bite very well on devil-type jigs, and the best tackle for it will be a garland that allows you to cover several water horizons at once. The best bait for pike is a small roach suspended on a rod along the steep bank of a river or lake. Pike perch bites well on bloodworms, live bait, balance beams or spoons.

Based on the fisherman's lunar calendar, better days the best time to go fishing in January will be from January 1st to 4th and from January 30th to 31st; a good bite will be observed from the 14th to the 20th and from the 27th to the 29th of the month. But let us remember that these data are calculated based on equal weather conditions, while atmospheric pressure will also play an important role this month. Only by taking into account all the factors can you find the perfect day for catching a trophy.

In February, special attention should be paid to weather forecasts, as the weather in this month becomes extremely unpredictable. We can definitely say that the ice will not last long, since long-term forecasts speak of frequent thaws and near-zero temperatures, which will result in early melting of ice and a rise in water levels in reservoirs, after which fishermen will again have to return to summer gear. A positive aspect will be the increased level of fish activity, as a result of warming and greater illumination of the reservoir, however, the oxygen balance will leave much to be desired.

This month, the fisherman's lunar calendar foretells food from the 1st to the 3rd and from the 28th to the 29th of February, and a very good bite is also expected from the 13th to the 18th and from the 25th to the 27th of the month. The new moon phase, which usually accompanies a lull, will take effect on the 8th, and the full moon will occur on February 22. In any case, the temperature of the air, and, consequently, the water, plays a much more important role, because they will determine how soon the flood will arrive and when the fish will begin their pre-spawning fat. We advise you to pay great attention to all factors, since only in combination they form a real idea of the behavior of the fish.

At the beginning of the month, it will still be possible to fish with winter fishing rods. Garlands with devil-type baits will be especially effective. The ice promises to be strong throughout the first week. Will last a little longer winter girders, with which it is most convenient to catch pike, especially on the eve of warming.

When the ice opens the reservoirs, it will be the turn of summer gear, spinning rods, long float rods and a feeder. At this time, it is best to catch pike, chub and pike perch using ultralight spinning rods. Casting will usually be made to great depths, from 5 meters, and to distant distances from the shore. Edible rubber, small spoons, wobblers and balancers will work well as bait. The metabolism of predators will increase noticeably towards the end of the month, when for most of them the period of active preparation for spawning begins. The burbot has already spawned, and its feeding peak will be at the end of the month; it will become especially active in the last days of the month. The ruff has noticeably perked up, and, being undemanding to oxygen levels, will begin to peck everywhere.

White fish will look for places in the pond with as much oxygen as possible. Oxygen starvation will bring it closer to running waters and natural springs, but on rivers it will rush to the riverbed, sticking to deep areas where the water is much warmer. Catching this fish will be done using long float rods and bottom tackle. Bait is becoming an essential component of catching bream and roach; breadcrumbs in combination with chopped bloodworms and anise oil will become universal ingredients, and the most popular bait will be bloodworms and worms. The greatest fish activity is expected in the early morning hours. We recommend not to miss the pre-spawning revival of fish, which will occur at the end of the month.

In March, the fish finally wake up from hibernation. Shortly after this comes a very active pre-spawning period. There is no longer any ice on the reservoirs, the air temperature is rising rapidly, and the water level in the reservoirs is reaching its annual peak. The only obstacle remains the low level of oxygen in reservoirs, in search of which fish will rush closer to running waters and natural springs.

In open water, the influence of the moon on the behavior of fish increases noticeably. The behavior and appetite of fish at night begins to directly depend on the illumination of the reservoir. Based on the angler's lunar calendar, the best bite under stable weather conditions will be observed from March 1 to 5, from March 12 to 19 and from March 26 to 31. The peak of activity will occur on the first and last days of the month. The new moon will occur on March 9, and the full moon on the 23rd.

White fish still prefer baits of animal origin. Roaches can now be found in smaller areas of the reservoir. As a rule, it will maintain a weak current in rivers, and will be especially active closer to the middle of the month in stagnant reservoirs. Bream and silver bream traditionally live in the bottom water horizons, where they feed on small mollusks, bottom worms and bloodworms. Fishing for this fish will be carried out using bottom and float gear, and the ideal bait will be sandwiches made from worms and bloodworms, which, by the way, should also be contained in the bait, but in crushed form and in small quantities. The basis of the bait will be more crumbly fractions, for example breadcrumbs. Compaction of the bait should be done exclusively using local soil.

The pre-spawning period of pike is in full swing; it always stays close to white fish and the relief bottom, where it often sets up its ambushes. This predator is often seen near the boundaries of aquatic vegetation, as well as in shallow waters, where the water warms up much faster. Burbot will also show its full potential in the first half of the month; now this fish prefers densely snagged areas of reservoirs, often close to the shore.

Perch strictly follows the same paths from their camps to their feeding areas. The best sign of its presence will be large concentrations of fry, after which the striped predator often rushes to shallow waters. Its fishing at the beginning of spring takes place on an ultralight spinning rod, with a weight of up to 7 grams, and the best bait is made from edible rubber. The closest relative of the perch, the pike perch, begins to flock into small schools that actively attack concentrations of small fish. Both fish will go to spawn at the moment when the water temperature in the reservoirs reaches a stable 7 degrees Celsius. The chub, whose pre-spawning feast is gaining momentum, is also fully active, but will leave for spawning next month.

April is not the most favorite month among anglers, since many species of fish go to spawn, and fishing for them becomes unavailable. However, their overall activity is gradually beginning to increase, due to the greater saturation of water bodies with oxygen due to the rapid growth of algae. The most popular among fishermen this month are silver bream, catfish, tench and sabrefish.

The angler's lunar calendar, with stable atmospheric pressure and weather conditions, promises increased bite from the 1st to the 3rd, from the 12th to the 18th and from the 25th to the 30th of the month. Zhor will be observed in the first and last days of the month. The new moon will occur on April 7, and the fish bite will decline 3 days before its onset and return to normal after 2-3 days. The full moon, the most unpredictable period for anglers, will occur on the 22nd; the bite at this time can either decrease or increase sharply.

Spawning of silver bream usually occurs at the end of April - beginning of May; until this time, anglers throughout Ukraine will notice an increased bite, which is caused by the increased metabolism of the fish, on the eve of such an important season. The pelvic and pectoral fins of this fish become bright orange, and the color of the scales becomes light silver. It is strongly recommended to release females ready for spawning so as not to harm the fish population. They can be distinguished from spawning males by small tubercles on the head and back of the latter, which are absent in females.

The catfish fully wakes up from hibernation only when the water warms up to a temperature of over 10 degrees. Most likely, it will be possible to catch it at the beginning of the month. The advantage of catching this giant in the spring will be its unprecedented appetite, since the fish needs to restore all the fat mass lost during the winter season. At this time, it often appears in shallow waters, where the water warms up much faster. Catfish fishing at night, in the early stages, is much less effective than on a warm, fine day.

The tench also develops an unprecedented appetite. In mid-spring, when the water warms up high speed, it can often be seen near high coastal vegetation, in shallow water, in areas no more than 2 meters deep. It’s not worth catching this fish in the early morning yet; the peak of activity, however, will be observed in the morning hours, but not earlier than 9 o’clock.

The spawning of sabrefish will begin a little later, when the water temperature reaches 12 degrees; before that, especially in the first days of the month, seasonal feeding will be observed. There will be no better time to catch this fish, however, large females ready for spawning are also recommended to be released into the wild in order to maintain the population.

To summarize, we can say that at this time most species are either preparing for spawning or are in the process, so you need to approach fishing wisely. There are far fewer permitted objects for fishing, but the frequency of bites will fully compensate you for the March stagnation. Keep an eye on the weather, don't forget to check the lunar calendar and see you fishing.

By May, most representatives of the aquatic fauna have already passed their spawning period, giving way to more heat-loving species. At the beginning of this month, predatory fish will have a short period of post-spawning feeding, then the bite will gradually begin to stabilize. This month it will be allowed to catch asp, perch, roach, pike perch, pike and ide; catfish, silver bream, tench and sabrefish go to spawn; it is better not to disturb this fish for now. Well, we present to you a biting calendar for the month of May, in direct dependence on the phase of the moon.

Based on the angler's lunar calendar, the best days for fishing will be from May 1 to 2, from 11 to 17 and from May 24 to 31. The new moon will fall on the 6th, 2 days before it the bite will decline and 2-3 days after, activity will resume. The most unpredictable period, the full moon, will occur on the 21st day of the month; the activity of the fry at this time increases greatly and, in this regard, the use of larger baits is recommended.

The sun quickly warms the reservoirs, algae grows at a very fast pace, and the water becomes cloudy, all this only makes the work of fishermen easier. Fattening of pike perch will last from one week to half a month. Like all predators, this fish prefers more or less clean areas of the reservoir. She begins to go out for fattening much more often, and due to this she quickly gains weight. Quite often it can be found in shallow water, where it swims after a small fish, which in turn is looking for young algae and warm water.

Pike and perch finally settled near the coastal vegetation and populated all the snags located not far from the shore. Their best bite will be observed on lakes where there are few forage fish, and on small rivers, where finding their camp sites will not be difficult. It is believed that pike, more than other types of fish, is dependent on the phase of the moon, and therefore it is best to catch it in the first or last quarter; during the new moon, its bite is quite difficult to predict, since it overlaps with the seasonal glutton of the predator.

The peak of roach activity will occur in the second half of the month; this is the time when the water reaches the ideal temperature. Now, in addition to bloodworms and small mollusks, its diet is increasingly beginning to include young algae, which makes it reasonable to try to catch it using bait of plant origin. Quite often, it approaches the very shore or goes out into shallow waters, in search of the warmest areas. It will be caught using float gear.

Carp, tench, carp and catfish are undergoing an active spawning period; their fishing in public reservoirs is prohibited, which, however, does not apply to paid reservoirs, where the rules are set by the owners. The place of the river trophy giant goes to the burbot, which has already spawned and actively feeds at night, which means you won’t get a bite from it during the new moon. Let us remind you that the fisherman’s lunar calendar is only one component of the overall picture fishing conditions, so first of all you should pay attention to the weather forecast.

Summer is coming, before it gets too hot outside, the conditions for fishing are close to ideal. At the beginning of the month, for many species of fish, there will be a slight pause in feeding, as a consequence of the active feeding period that has passed in the spring. The number of fish allowed to be caught after the spawning period increases significantly. This month it is allowed to catch silver bream, asp, crucian carp, rudd, bream, tench, perch, roach, carp, carp, catfish, pike perch, sabrefish and ide. With summer warming, the role played by the moon in the behavior of aquatic fauna increases noticeably. Now about everything in more detail.

The angler's lunar calendar in June predicts the best bite from the 10th to the 16th and from the 23rd to the 29th of the month. The new moon will occur on the 5th, on these days the bite usually subsides two days before its onset and a couple of days later, after which it recovers. Also, during the new moon, night fishing is strongly discouraged. The full moon will come on June 20, this month the fry will be overactive, for this period it is recommended to use large fractions of bait, as well as larger hook baits. Overall, the month promises to be quite successful.

White fish begin to feed intensively, which is primarily due to the abundance of algae and various small food in the form of insect larvae. Behind the latter, the fish often rises to the surface. The water still remains cloudy, and therefore the angler does not have much risk of being noticed, which reduces the need for camouflage. At the bottom of the reservoir, in turn, bream, silver bream and carp begin to thrive, as well as catfish, whose appetite will be especially high.

Roach and rudd are scattered throughout the reservoir, but their largest concentrations are observed in weak and moderate currents. Since this fish now swims close to the surface and perfectly sees everything that happens outside the water, it is better to fish for it from cover, for example, with a long Bolognese fishing rod, due to the high aquatic vegetation. Not far from the places of its accumulations, pike will lurk, most often observed near coastal vegetation, in areas more or less clear of turbidity and silt. It is recommended to catch all the fish described above in the early morning hours.

Pike perch is considered a crepuscular predator, which means it should be caught closer to sunset. Unlike previous seasons, now it can often be seen in shallow waters, where it swims in search of smaller, heat-loving fish. The best bait for it are small spoons and wobblers. Retrieving, as in the case of pike, must be fast, since predators are now not averse to chasing worthy prey. What is noteworthy is that only male pike perch will show more activity, while females are still resting after a grueling spawning period.

Carp live in all types of water bodies, both in large rivers and small lakes. The most frequent bites will be observed in cloudy weather, and this fish will be able to show a real zhor before and after a real summer thunderstorm, which will no longer be a rarity. Before going fishing, we advise you to carefully monitor the weather forecasts and do not forget to look at the fisherman’s lunar calendar, especially if you are going on a fishing trip. night fishing. No tail, no scales!

Temperatures typically peak in mid-summer, forcing fish to hide from the sun in deeper areas. The vast majority of fish have already passed the fattening period after spawning and are becoming more picky about the bait offered. The time is coming for night fishing, during which it is possible to catch trophy specimens, the main thing is to wear a thick sweater, prepare yourself a thermos of coffee and, of course, prepare your fishing gear in advance. At night, fish are more exposed to the influence of the moon, since now it also plays the role of a light source. Now about the lunar fishing forecast for July in more detail.

The best days to go fishing in July will be from the 10th to the 15th, and from the 22nd to the 28th of the month. The moon will completely disappear from the sky on July 4, and the bite will subside not only at night, but also during the day. This phase will begin 2 days before the actual full moon, and will last 2 days after it has passed. The full moon will come on July 19, using large fractions of bait and larger baits, you can hope for a good catch, regardless of the hyperactivity of the fry. From the point of view of lunar theory, under stable weather conditions, zhor will be observed from the 25th to the 28th of the month.

Throughout July, it is best to start fishing in the morning, twilight and night hours, as this is when the peaks of fish activity will be observed. At the beginning of the month, there is an active bloom of water, which can complicate fishing in small bodies of water with an abundance of aquatic vegetation, which, among other things, provides herbivorous species with an abundance of food. Large fish will bite well on grasshoppers, which appear in large numbers in the fields, along with caterpillars and earthworms.

Catching catfish using a kwok is becoming very popular; it is inexplicable, but it is a fact that river giants invariably swim to the sound made by such a simple device. Catching catfish will most often be done using floating means, since this fish does not tolerate heat well and will spend most of its time in large bottom depressions, away from the shore.

Pike and perch, in addition to a light spinning rod with a thin line, can be caught very well with circles in deep holes and near aquatic vegetation. Pike perch will prefer areas of the reservoir that are further from the shore and deeper, in fast currents. Catching it will be more effective when trolling vertically from a boat.

Bream, ide and carp will also prefer deeper areas, but with an abundance of aquatic vegetation. It becomes extremely important to use bait of large fractions. Crucian carp will behave much more actively, since it is probably the most heat-loving fish in our latitudes. In addition to plant baits, it also bites well on maggots. Carp, like carp, will require a large amount of bait; it is better to catch it in the early morning hours, and by feeding the place in advance in the evening, you can count on a more stable bite. Follow the weather forecasts, look at our website to see the angler’s calendar, which will tell you which fish bites best this week, and don’t forget about the angler’s lunar calendar. No tail, no scales!

In August, the temperature slowly begins to drop, and the blooming water slows down and will stop altogether by the end of the month. All this creates very good conditions for aquatic fauna, especially predators. Fish now swim to the surface much more often, except benthic species, and actively feeds on insect larvae and other small fish. The fry grows up and predatory fish sometimes cannot keep up with them, which ensures a good bite for the hungry pike perch. The asp completely loses all signs of caution and flocks into large flocks, quickly hunting for any passing fish. Fishing becomes much busier on cool days, and therefore, at the beginning of the month, while it is still hot, it is worth looking at the weather forecasts, and of course, at the angler’s lunar calendar.

The fisherman's lunar calendar in the last weeks of summer foretells an excellent bite from the 8th to the 14th and from the 21st to the 28th of the month. The month will begin with a new moon, which, combined with the persistent hot weather, will slow down the metabolism of the fish, but the bite may improve with the onset of cloudy weather or before a thunderstorm. The full moon will fall on August 18, and as before, you will need bait of larger fractions and larger baits in order to ward off older and more active flocks of fry, which will show gluttony. If the weather is stable, the best days to go fishing will be from August 23 to 27, when the last quarter of the moon comes into force.

The perch again gather in large schools and actively hunt for fry. Following him, the fish often swims close to the shore and does not shy away from swimming in the upper layers of the reservoir even in hot weather. The same whitebait will work perfectly as bait for perch and pike perch when fishing on the track, especially in lakes and in moderate currents.

Some of the fishermen will definitely not be bored this month, since along with the colder weather, a real period of hunger for the river giants is expected. Catching for catfish using kwok continues and becomes more active in relief areas with deep bottom depressions. In search of cooler water, catfish often swim along bridge arches and other shaded areas, such as steep banks.

Bream and white bream will start to eat in the second half of the month. Now, these bottom fish stay close to the shore, where it is most convenient to catch them using feeder and other bottom gear. Among other bottom fish, carp can also be noted, which is also beginning to actively gain weight.

In the higher layers of the reservoir, after a long lull during the scorching sun, roach, rudd and bleak begin to revive, both small and large specimens. You can sift out the fines with a large volume of bait on the hook. It is recommended to use sandwiches of different baits at the same time. Well, following the revived little fish that populated the coastal zone, the pike, which so loves to ambush in the reeds, also comes to life. It is best to catch it with a spinning rod, fishing along the coastal vegetation. Before going fishing, do not forget to check the weather forecasts and the lunar calendar. No tail, no scales!

September is traditionally the busiest fishing month. The water becomes increasingly clear, and the average daily temperature drops below 20 degrees, which gives a clear signal to the fish to begin preparing for the coming winter season. It is allowed to catch almost all types of fish, and the latter feed more than actively, which makes it possible not to skimp on bait, which brings huge results. This month there is an active catch of silver bream, crucian carp, asp, rudd, tench, bream, perch, carp, roach, carp, catfish, pike perch, sabrefish, pike and ide. The lunar calendar this month plays a lesser role than the previous ones, but being a secondary factor, it affects many behavioral characteristics of the fish. Now let's take a closer look at it.

The best days to go fishing will be from the 7th to the 12th and from the 19th to the 27th of the month, the periods of the first and last quarter of the lunar cycle. The new moon will take place on the first and last days of the month, and will lower the fish’s metabolism for a short period of several days, especially at night. The full moon will come on the 16th of the month and will force the grown fry to feed much more actively than their adult relatives, literally scaring them away from the bait. The greatest bite is predicted for the period from the 21st to the 15th, during several days of the last quarter.

Fishing in September has both its pros and cons, compared to the previous month. Firstly, daylight hours are inexorably becoming shorter, and the water is becoming more transparent. Fish that prefer to swim in the upper salts of a reservoir can easily notice a fishing boat or a fisherman directly on the shore, so it is recommended to use at least minimal camouflage. Also, fishing in clear water will require thinner and more inconspicuous gear, so when catching predatory fish, great preference is given to thinner fishing line options, in the form of braided cords.

Predatory fish, namely asp, pike, perch, chub and pike perch, will bite much more actively on fast retrieve and active play of the bait. Fishing with jig gear is becoming very popular. Since asp fishing is carried out for the most part with the help of floating devices, which are difficult not to notice on the surface, long casts are practiced, which in turn will require heavier bait. Weighted spinners and castmasters are perfect for this purpose. Pike is usually caught near the shore, where it is very densely located in the shade of coastal vegetation. It is caught from a boat or from a bend in the bank using fast spinning tackle, in wiring along aquatic vegetation.

Roach, rudd, ide, dace and crucian carp will be caught using float gear, especially in places rich in aquatic vegetation. Like carp and carp, they will peck more often on bait of plant origin and will require a large amount of large fractions of bait.

Bottom fish will be caught well on a feeder and other bottom gear. You won’t need a long fishing rod this month, since in most cases it will explore small recesses located along coastline. The catfish will be located at a distance from the shore, so it is often impossible to catch it without a boat. This fish continues to be excellently caught on a quok, frog or grasshopper. Don’t forget to keep an eye on the weather forecasts, because almost all fish, except roach and crucian carp, will bite more actively in cloudy weather.

The first serious cold snaps occur in October. average temperature The air temperature at this time varies from 13 to 18 degrees Celsius, although it can fall much lower. The number of fish allowed to be caught is noticeably reduced, and the bite becomes less frequent. Many species of small fish form large schools and move far from the shore. However, the chance of catching trophy specimens increases markedly, because the fish have already managed to grow and fatten up over previous seasons. The most popular fishing objects are silver bream, bream, roach, perch, carp, carp, pike perch and pike. The influence of lunar cycles begins to gradually increase. Predators become hungry. Now let's talk about everything in order.

In October, the most favorable days for fishing, according to the lunar theory, will be from the 7th to the 12th and from the 19th to the 26th of the month. The month will begin and end with a new moon, during which a deterioration in the fish’s appetite will be observed, especially at night. The new moon will last from October 16 to 21, and promise increased activity of the fry and at the same time, a temporary decrease in metabolism in predatory species. Well, the peak of zhora in aquatic fauna is expected from the 20th to the 24th, naturally under favorable weather conditions. Now let's briefly look at the general habits of fish this month.

Fishing in the first days of the month will be no different from fishing in September, but the mercury column of the thermometer will inexorably drop and daylight hours will shorten. The best time for fishing at this time is the morning and evening hours, as well as for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Heat-loving fish begin to sink into the lower layers of the reservoir, and predators continue to actively fatten. It is they who will become the most frequent and largest prey, with the right approach to fishing.

The carp bite has noticeably decreased, but in this case it helps very well a large number of bait of large fractions. For the most part, this fish, along with carp, will be most active in the evening, as well as before sunrise. Catching it with boilies is actively practiced, among which it is worth choosing those that do not have a pungent odor, since in clear water the fish’s sense of smell becomes more sensitive.

The roach will sink lower and lower. At this time, it gathers in large flocks, which will move to deeper areas where as much algae as possible remains. Its fishing takes place on float rods, as a bait for which you can already use bloodworms or worms. Bream and silver bream feed no less actively, but in the bottom layers of the reservoir. They will be caught mostly using feeder gear.

Perch also form large schools. This fish will be hooked more often than others due to its insatiable appetite. You can catch it with float and spinning tackle, as well as with mugs, using edible rubber, bloodworms or fry as bait. Along with pike, it will be active throughout the daylight hours. The latter will continue to hunt from ambush in snags or near coastal, high vegetation. Don't forget to check the weather forecasts in advance, as it rains more and more often. Let us recall that the fisherman’s lunar calendar is not a dogma and is compiled based on stable, average weather and atmospheric pressure. No tail, no scales!

In November, the air temperature drops below 10 degrees, and towards the end it approaches zero. Fishing will also be made more difficult by frequent rains, which are accompanied by wet, quickly melting snow as winter approaches. The stability of atmospheric pressure, which also plays an important role, leaves much to be desired and we advise you to pay attention to it more often. The most popular fish this month will be silver bream, bream, perch, roach, pike perch, ide and pike. Changes in the lunar cycle will most affect white fish, while predators will continue to fatten in any conditions. Now let’s learn more about the influence of lunar cycles and the seasonal habits of fish.

In November, the best days, based on the angler’s lunar calendar, will be from the 5th to the 10th and from the 17th to the 25th of the month. As in the previous month, the new moon phase will occur at the beginning of the month and its last week; the bite of white fish at this time is significantly reduced, especially at night. The full moon will last from the 11th to the 16th; during this period it is also better to switch to predatory fish. Under stable weather conditions and atmospheric pressure, the zhor of most species will be observed from the 19th to the 23rd of November. Now, briefly about the habits of fish in the pre-winter weeks of the year.

Freeze-up is still a long way off, and the water temperature is dropping every day, gaining extreme transparency. The algae are dying off at a double rate, and the aquatic flora is preparing for the winter season. At this time, when fishing for white fish, fishermen will need as much bait as possible. In November, store-bought formulations are selected without a pungent odor, to which the fish becomes more sensitive and tries to avoid. Ideally, you can mix homemade bait with store-bought bait, which is initially filled with specialized flavors, in order to extinguish their excess aroma.

Perch, feeding in large schools throughout the month, will sink closer to the bottom. Despite this, it is still quite convenient to catch it from the shore, especially in small bodies of water, with a quick retrieve. The sheer trolling of perch and its older brother pike perch, however, will show much greater results. Schools of this fish are easiest to find using an echo sounder.

Pike, which is in the most active phase of preparation for the winter season, will be no less active. It continues to be caught near the borders of aquatic vegetation using fast retrieval. Preference is given to fishing with long and narrow spoons or live bait. Fishing from a boat, using vertical lures, on deep edges will be more effective.

The main daytime roach bite will occur in the morning hours after sunrise and will last until noon. In November, this fish prefers calm and clear weather, without precipitation. Most often, its accumulations are observed in quiet bays and near the boundaries of aquatic vegetation. Fishing takes place on a float with an extremely thin line. Fishing for bream and silver bream is carried out at depths of at least 5 meters, in the bottom layers. When catching them from the shore, feeder or other bottom gear is used. Fishing is also practiced from a boat, using an echo sounder and a Bolognese fishing rod; casts are also made into the bottom layers of the reservoir. Particular attention is paid to bait, which should form turbidity in the water and be compacted exclusively with local soil. Pay close attention to weather forecasts; fishing is best on warm days and low pressure; also do not forget about the lunar calendar. No tail, no scales!

In the winter season, the fish bite noticeably subsides; only a few predators will be particularly active. In Ukraine, the formation of the first, more or less strong ice occurs closer to the new year or even in January. Where bodies of water are somehow covered with an ice crust, fishing becomes dangerous, falling through the ice is no longer a rarity, so we advise you not to risk frostbite. On small lakes, ice formation occurs much faster, but we do not recommend going out on them without an ice pick. The influence of lunar cycles increases at this time, as the fish feed less and less and look for ideal conditions for this. Now about the habits of the fish and the influence of our companion on them in more detail.

Our faithful companion will create the best conditions for fishing in December from the 5th to the 10th and from the 17th to the 25th of the month, during the first and last quarters of the lunar cycle. The month will begin and end with a new moon, during which the bite will noticeably weaken. The full moon will last from the 11th to the 16th, and will only slightly reduce the number of bites realized, but basically, everything will depend on the success of the chosen fishing tactics on a particular body of water. The last quarter of the moon is the best time to go fishing; it will last from the 19th to the 23rd of the month. Let us remind you that weather conditions will play a decisive role, and the most successful fishing will take place during warm periods, on bright and calm days without strong winds, with slightly reduced pressure.

Most species of aquatic fauna move to winter holes, from where they will emerge less and less often. Only silver bream, pike and perch will show good activity, which will become the main target of anglers. The good news for them may be the fact that now the fish has reached its maximum mass and size, and therefore the chance of catching a trophy specimen increases.

Schools of perch in December are divided by size and age of individuals. Small and medium-sized specimens in open water will be observed near the boundaries of aquatic vegetation, while large humpback whales will go to dumps in deep holes. If fishing from floating craft is still possible, then it is this that brings the greatest rewards. After the onset of freeze-up, within a couple of weeks the heat sets in, the fish rises closer to the surface and bites perfectly on jigs and bloodworms. In the first couple of days, in ice-free conditions, fishing takes place with ultralight spinning rods and weighted baits for longer casts.

In December, the pike begins to move away from the shore following the white fish. The best places to catch it are deep edges, bays and snags. It is also caught with light spinning rods, but with a slower retrieve, using really large baits, since this predator does not skimp on trifles in such a harsh time of year. When solid ice covers the edges of the reservoir, it becomes possible to fish with live bait as bait.

Fishing for silver bream will require, first of all, feeding small fractions that form an odorous turbidity at the bottom of the reservoir, and low-calorie mud, so as not to overfeed the fish. In the first days of the month, fishing with feeder gear will continue. For a longer cast, and the fish will prefer to stay near deep holes, away from the shore, you will need an elongated rod, up to 4 meters in length. If there is ice, it will be good to fish winter fishing rod on bloodworms. We wish you that this year brings you many great trophies, and even more next year. Don’t forget to follow the fisherman’s calendars, which are published once a week on our TV channel and website, to always be up to date, and look at the lunar calendar more often. No tail, no scales!
