How many kilograms can I carry at the airport. How many kg can be carried and taken on a plane per person: what is the allowed weight and allowable size? Permissible baggage weight on the plane: general points

Air travel is a convenient and fast way of transportation that allows the traveler to arrive at their destination in a few hours. In order for the flight to go smoothly, airlines have developed special rules for passengers, while sending things is given special attention.

How much baggage can I carry on the plane

Large carriers have established rules for carrying baggage on an airplane, which spell out the requirements for the size of checked luggage. Cargo is individually issued for each passenger. It is important to know the weight limits, which can vary greatly depending on the type of vessel and the particular air carrier. It is better to check the allowed dimensions on the company's website.

In addition to weight, there is a quantitative assessment. For example, a bicycle would count as one luggage space, while the size and weight are not important. Some companies offer grading by class, ie. the more expensive the ticket, the more free cargo you can carry. If the suitcase exceeds the allowable norm, the excess can be paid separately. Rules for transporting one free baggage are:

  • business class - no more than 32 kg, and the width, height and thickness of the luggage should not exceed 158 cm;
  • economy class - luggage weight is not more than 23 kg, in three dimensions the size is up to 158 cm;
  • for small children without a seat, luggage can be up to 10 kg, dimensions - no more than 115 cm.

What can you take on a plane

If you are planning to go on vacation abroad, please check the baggage rules of the country where you want to fly in advance. Sometimes a list of allowed items is indicated on the ticket. You should study the airline's restrictions in advance, otherwise, during the inspection, all prohibited items will be confiscated. The rules for carrying luggage on an airplane contain a list of permissible items that can be carried on an airplane:

  • electronic gadgets: phone, laptop, smartphone, camera;
  • money and documents;
  • warm clothes;
  • a set of medicines;
  • inflatable pillow;
  • wet wipes;
  • food (do not take very crumbling and perishable foods).

Rules for carrying hand luggage on an airplane

The items allowed to be carried on board are called hand luggage. The size of such luggage should not exceed the norm established by the rules of the airline. The actual question is how much luggage costs on an airplane and whether it is necessary to pay separately for hand luggage. If the cargo carried on board is not more than 10 kg, then no additional fee is charged for such baggage. As a rule, the price for reloading varies from 30 to 70 euros. Payment for the entire cost of excess volume can be made at the front desk.

There is a list of things that a passenger can put in the cabin for free:

  • women's handbag, briefcase;
  • cane;
  • wheelchair, crutches;
  • bouquet of flowers;
  • umbrella;
  • outerwear;
  • baby cradle;
  • printed editions.

All these items do not need to be separately weighed and marked. Regarding the transportation of oversized and non-standard items, for example, musical instruments, sports equipment, you should contact the managers of the carrier's airline in advance. In addition, you can take baby food on the flight, which you will need during the flight to feed your baby.

What not to take on a plane

The baggage rules on the plane contain a list of prohibited items. An exception in many companies is the transport of store products duty free: perfume, alcohol, cigarettes, drinks. All products at the same time must be sealed and packaged in the store itself or on board. Here is a short list of what is prohibited to bring into hand luggage in airplane:

  • manicure scissors, knives;
  • corkscrews;
  • blades, razors.
  • the new rule excludes any kind of liquids (even water) if their volume exceeds 100 ml;
  • cosmetics must also be handed over - creams, mascara;
  • you can’t carry weapons and their imitation with you;
  • jewelry and fragile items;
  • alcohol;
  • all kinds of gases.

Dimensions of hand luggage on the plane

The dimensions of luggage carried on board are limited by the rules of the carrier. Permissible luggage sizes in many countries are the same. However, it is worth knowing in advance about all the nuances so that during the inspection you do not lose your favorite items. The maximum weight of hand luggage on the plane can be no more than 5 kg. For first and business class passengers, the norm is 7 kilograms (maximum).

How much luggage can you take on a plane? The norms of free and paid baggage allowance in the aircraft are determined by:

Worldwide There are two systems for determining the amount of free baggage allowance.
  • weight concept
  • quantitative (piece concept).

Weight system for determining the amount of free baggage allowance

In Russia, the minimum baggage allowance for an air ticket at the “with baggage” fare is 10 kg. This rate may be increased by the carrier. In general, all airlines in the world try to adhere to the following free baggage allowances for adults and children over two years old:
  • First class - 40 kg
  • Business class - 30 kg
  • Economy class - 20 kg

The free baggage allowance includes the total weight of the baggage and the weight of hand baggage.

Dimensions also have limitations - by the sum of three dimensions, the size of a piece of baggage should not exceed:

  • in the first and business classes - 203 cm
  • in economy class - 158 cm

In the cabin of the aircraft, it is allowed to carry free cargo up to 10 kg with overall dimensions not exceeding 115 cm.

For each child under 2 years of age who does not have a separate seat, the free baggage allowance is 10 kg.

If the airline makes changes to these rules, then information about this can always be obtained when buying a ticket.

In the cabin of the aircraft, in addition to the minimum weight allowance for hand luggage, you can take:

  • binoculars
  • video camera
  • handbag (including laptop bag)
  • men's briefcase
  • backpack
  • baby portable cradle / chair weighing up to 10 kg
  • magazine or book
  • umbrella
  • laptop
  • tablet
  • hygiene products
  • warm clothes: coat, shawl, blanket, socks, jacket, etc.
  • holdall
  • camera
  • a small bag of food, including baby food
  • medicines
  • bouquet of flowers
You can also take the following items*:
  • crutches, canes or other necessary orthopedic aids
  • walker,
  • folding wheelchairs
* These items can be placed on a shelf above the seat or under the seat in front of the seat. In the event that there is no place for them there, they can be checked in as baggage, and there will be no additional charge.

To ensure the safety of passengers on board the aircraft, the weight and dimensions of the backpack, which is carried into the cabin in excess of the hand luggage limit of 5 kg, are set by the air carrier independently.

Seat system

Typically, this system is used on transatlantic flights. It determines the norms for the number of pieces of luggage.

Passengers of all travel classes are allowed free transportation two pieces of baggage weighing up to 32 kg each.

Please note that seat weights are not cumulative!
This means that if one piece weighs more than 32 kg, there will be an additional excess charge, even if the second piece weighs less than 32 kg.

In the sum of three dimensions, the size of the seat must not exceed 158 cm for economy class and 203 cm for first and business class.

Excess baggage

If the weight and dimensions of your baggage exceed the established norms, then it is better to solve all the problems associated with its registration in advance. Payment for excess baggage is made in accordance with the baggage rates in force on the day of issuing the receipt of paid baggage, which is issued to the passenger upon receipt of payment from him at the airline's ticket office.

According to existing rules, payment on credit for the carriage of excess baggage is not allowed.

Unaccompanied baggage

In this case, baggage is accepted for transportation separately from the passenger and is registered in advance as cargo according to a separate air waybill.

Oversized, oversized and non-standard baggage

If you have oversized baggage, then its transportation must be coordinated directly with the airline.

Musical instruments and animals are not covered by the free baggage allowance. Payment for their transportation is carried out in accordance with the tariffs in force at the time of payment for this transportation service. Musical instruments, fragile or valuable luggage are transported in the cabin on a separate ticket.

  • With a total weight of up to 75 kg, this baggage is transported in a separate seat
  • If the total weight exceeds 75 kg, such baggage is transported on two or more seats, in accordance with this, the required number of air tickets is purchased. At the same time, for each individual seat, the passenger is charged a fee corresponding to the fare of the passenger who carries this baggage. There are no discounts for this rate.
  • The established free baggage allowance does not apply to air tickets that are issued for the carriage of baggage in the cabin on a separate seat.
Oversized or non-standard baggage is baggage that differs in size and weight (taking into account the type of aircraft on which transportation is carried out) from the usual baggage carried. This baggage includes:
  • wheelchair
  • non-folding baby stroller
  • large musical instruments
  • bicycle, etc.
Such baggage is transported in the baggage compartment of the aircraft.

Usually each airline has its own bonus programs and discount systems, so the baggage allowance of airlines may differ from the standard allowance. In addition, please note that these rules and regulations apply only to scheduled air carriers. The baggage allowance for budget airlines (low-cost airlines) differs from the generally accepted ones, as a rule, downwards. And some low-cost airlines don't carry luggage for free at all.

If you buy a budget ticket from a low-cost airline, then the ticket price usually includes only hand luggage, and you need to pay extra for luggage separately. At the same time, the surcharge for the transportation of one of your luggage can be twice the price of the ticket itself. But it is better to pay for excess baggage in advance when buying a ticket, because, most likely, it will be much cheaper than paying for excess baggage at the check-in counter.

What can you take on a plane

The aircraft has a certain carrying capacity, so the baggage allowance is limited. Hand luggage allowances are also set in order to freely place things on the luggage racks or under the seat. Otherwise, things may interfere with the evacuation of passengers.

Hand luggage is checked in simultaneously with the passenger's check-in for the flight. Check-in at any airport usually starts 2-3 hours and ends 1 hour - 40 minutes before departure. You can find out for sure when check-in for your flight starts and ends at the representative office of the airline from which you purchased the ticket. To plan your trip more accurately, check out how to get to the airport of departure on.

hand luggage are things that you can take with you into the cabin. The weight limit for hand luggage is determined by the airline. The weight limit for hand luggage can vary from 5 to 10 kg. Hand luggage may not be included in the ticket fare - it may be paid.

Regardless of whether hand luggage is included in the fare or not, on flights of Russian airlines, you can take the following items into the cabin with you:

  • handbag or briefcase;
  • bouquet of flowers;
  • outerwear;
  • baby food for the child during the flight;
  • suit in a suitcase;
  • a baby cradle/foldable baby stroller when transporting a child (the use of a stroller is possible up to the aircraft ladder, later the stroller is handed over for transportation in the baggage and cargo compartment);
  • crutches, a folding wheelchair, having dimensions that allow them to be safely placed in the aircraft cabin on a shelf above the passenger seat or under the seat of the passenger seat in front (when transporting a passenger with reduced mobility).

Pobeda Airlines allows the transportation of items from this list if their dimensions and hand luggage do not exceed 36x30x27 centimeters in total. If hand luggage exceeds the specified dimensions, it can be checked in as checked baggage for an additional fee.

In the bag that you take with you to the cabin of the aircraft (hand luggage), there should not be knives, scissors (even manicure ones), medicines (except for vital drugs), inhalers, aerosols, cosmetics(creams, gels).

Baggage allowance

Baggage- these are the things that you hand over when you check in for a flight. They will fly in the luggage compartment. Airlines have different weight and number of pieces of luggage. Some airlines have fares where baggage is not included in the ticket price and is paid separately as additional service. These data are specified in the fare rules of the ticket. Also, when buying an air ticket on Tutu.ru, you can set a filter and choose either only tickets with allowed baggage, or without baggage.

If the baggage allowance set by the airline is exceeded, for example, baggage weighs 30 kg with a limit of 23 kg, then such baggage is considered excess baggage and you will need to pay extra for it. There are tariffs that limit luggage not only by weight, but also by space - that is, one person can carry one bag or suitcase for free. If your luggage fits within the weight allowance but is packed in two bags, you will have to pay for one more piece of luggage.

The payment rules are set by the airline, most often you can pay for baggage or hand luggage online on the airline's website or by calling its contact center, as well as at the airport.

baby on the plane

A baby on an airplane is also a passenger, so some airlines allow 10 kg of baggage to be carried with him for free. All baby cradles or car seats of any size when transporting a child under 2 years old, as well as strollers when transporting a child under the age of 11 years (inclusive) are carried free of charge in excess of the standard baggage allowance or in addition to carry-on baggage. A folding stroller cane is checked in as luggage.

Transportation of sports equipment

If you are flying with sports equipment (skis, snowboard, surfboard, bicycle), then you must inform the airline about this. Check the conditions for carrying sports equipment on the website of your airline. Call or write to the representatives of the airline you are going to fly. When issuing an air ticket on our website, we can request for you the service of transporting sports equipment (ski equipment, equipment for golf, surfing, diving, paragliding, bicycles).

This service must be ordered more than 72 hours before the flight departure:

  • by calling us at 8-495-587-43-05 (be ready to give the booking number, order number or the phone number specified when placing the order);
  • by sending an email [email protected] or a website indicating the booking number, order or phone number specified when placing the order.

It is also necessary to indicate the passenger for whom the service is required, the dimensions length*width*height and the total weight of the equipment.

The airline will need 24 hours to respond. We will definitely inform you about the confirmation or refusal of this service.

Many have witnessed cases where passengers were forced to pay for even a small excess of things that they carry with them. There are basic rules by which the allowable weight of baggage on an aircraft is formed, and norms that determine the basic standards for its transportation.

Permissible baggage weight: main rules

It is very rare for people to fly on an airplane and not take luggage with them. At a minimum, they take hand luggage with them, the most common items in this segment of luggage are a handbag or nubuck. Most of things are usually sent in baggage. In this case, you need to take into account the rules by which a particular airline determines the free transportation of things. Each company has its own rules. Sometimes you can take up to 30 kg with you for free, but in some cases you will have to pay extra for such a volume of things.

All airlines for economy class passengers provide only one piece of baggage, if we are not talking about participation in various promotions and bonuses. Often the allowable weight of luggage on an airplane fluctuates between 20-23 kg, and you have to pay extra for the rest, and usually a rather impressive amount. For a child under the age of 10 years, a separate place is required, in which at least 10 kg of things can be put.

The maximum allowed baggage weight on an airplane is always no more than 32 kg, as this value is determined by international regulations. To get second place, you will have to pay a fairly large amount of money, so it is advisable to meet the allotted mass or try to take part in programs in which you can buy a seat on an airplane with two luggage compartments at once.

These inconveniences primarily concern those passengers who purchase economy class tickets. For those who decide to take a business class or first class seat, 2 pieces of baggage are automatically issued at once. Sometimes people want to carry luggage that weighs more than 32 kg in one compartment. In this case, you need to call the airline and arrange in advance, but you should be prepared for the fact that employees may refuse to implement this request.

Many passengers who travel as a couple resort to one common trick. Instead of taking two bags with you, put all the necessary things in one. The weight is above the norm for one person, but does not exceed this mark for two, since it often equals 46 kg. If you familiarize yourself with the regulations that the airline makes, you can be sure that the consolidation of baggage is not allowed.

For two passengers, excess weight is allowed, but it should not exceed the allowable norm of 32 kg. Compliance with this rule depends on the decision of the airline employees, as well as on the position of the loaders regarding the highest mark of the weight of the lifted cargo. For example, the allowable weight of baggage on an airplane " Ural Airlines" ranges from 20 kg to 40 kg, depending on the selected tariff.

Permissible weight luggage on the plane in the configuration of hand luggage is also different, determined by the rules of the airline. Many allow you to carry with you from 5 kg to 10 kg of things. Regardless of the bag that goes in hand luggage, each person can take personal items with them, such as a coat, umbrella, blanket, laptop or camera with storage bags. It is also allowed to bring orthopedic aids, often walking sticks or crutches.

Many people prefer to purchase tickets immediately for flights of 2-3 airlines that have entered into a code-share agreement with each other. This aspect does not mean that the transportation rules are combined and become identical because of this. Each airline puts forward its own requirements and sets certain standards. It is necessary to know the rules of each company so that when choosing any transport flight, you do not make a mistake with the maximum allowable mark.

Baggage on different airlines

If you are interested in the question of what is the allowable weight of baggage on an airplane, you should familiarize yourself with the conditions of various carriers. Low-cost airlines can have relatively low fares, but they also have fairly unpredictable baggage allowances. Sometimes a person has to pay for a piece of baggage, regardless of how much each object specifically weighs. Many firms make such rules, compliance with which can be ensured only after significant time spent on studying them and purchasing the right containers.

FlyDubai

One piece of hand luggage with a maximum weight of 7 kg and less than 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm. You are also allowed to bring a small bag with you or replace it with nubuck. In case of paid baggage transportation, money is paid in advance. It is allowed to take luggage that does not exceed 20 kg in weight. If there is a need to transport heavier items, you will have to find out about this possibility from the carrier in advance, that is, the client may be denied this. One piece of baggage cannot exceed not only the weight of 32 kg, but also certain dimensions: 75 cm x 55 cm x 35 cm.

Air Berlin

This airline is not a low-cost airline in the literal sense. If baggage is paid in advance, you must transfer 15 euros. When there is a need to pay for transportation directly at the airport, before boarding the flight, you will have to pay 30 euros. It is also possible to carry luggage. One unit must be less than the maximum possible weight (23 kg). There is the FlyFlex option, where you can take two pieces of luggage for free. If there is an excess, an additional payment must be made. Depending on the selected package of services, you will have to pay an additional 50 or 100 euros for a one-way flight.

EasyJet

With regard to all things that are brought into the cabin with them, only one piece of baggage is allocated with dimensions strictly not exceeding 56 × 45 × 25 cm. For standard baggage, the passenger must pay at the time of ticket purchase, however, the total allowable baggage weight per person in an airplane must not exceed 20 kg. You can immediately pay extra for the additional weight of luggage, however, you can carry no more than 32 kg in one cell. It should be borne in mind that it is not the number of bags that is calculated, but the total weight of things, which for many passengers is a convenient point of the rules. When passengers are traveling in pairs, it is possible to divide the weight unequally. Together they account for 40 kg, and if necessary, two cells can be filled with bags of 18 kg and 20 kg.

RyanAir

This airline has introduced complex rules regarding fees and maximum allowable baggage weight. A passenger can take up to two items, however, the cost of carrying them is calculated depending on the season, which may be high or low. The cost will differ when deciding to pay through the site when ordering tickets or at the airport itself.

If the season is low, then for the first piece of luggage each passenger is obliged to pay 15 euros, while the weight is not more than 15 kg. If the trip is carried out in the high season, then you will have to pay 25 euros for the same weight. When the allowable weight of luggage on the plane is 20 kg, then you will have to pay 25 euros for the first piece or 35 euros - according to the season.

The second piece of baggage must be no more than 15 kg, and you can order this seat only through the website, by entering the Manage my booking section. You will have to pay an additional 40 euros for low season, and when it is high, you need to pay an additional 50 euros. You can take with you to the cabin free of charge a piece of hand luggage with a volume of 55×40×20 cm, the weight of which does not exceed 10 kg.

"Aeroflot"

The allowable baggage weight on an Aeroflot plane is 23 kg if a person wants to carry baggage for free, but flies in economy class. When measuring three sides of the bag, the total figures should not exceed 158 cm. The allowable baggage weight on an Aeroflot aircraft when carrying things in hand luggage is 10 kg. The total figures when measuring three sides of the bag should not exceed 115 cm.

"Transaero"

Permissible baggage weight on a Transaero aircraft when flying to charter flights is 20 kg, and in economy class - 25 kg. When a person boards a business class, he is entitled to a piece of baggage, where the load is not more than 30 kg.

One of the main concerns for tourists when traveling by plane is baggage. There are many stories telling that luggage is often lost and then either found after long term or disappear forever. If there are no problems with luggage initially, there is a greater chance that things will not be mixed up.

At the end of 2017, President Putin V.V. signed into law amending the General rules air transportation passengers, baggage, cargo and requirements for servicing passengers, consignors, consignees. According to the adopted law, Russian airlines introduce uniform rules for carrying baggage on an airplane, with the exception of Aeroflot's subsidiary, Pobeda.

Actual!

Let's take a look at what rules are relevant in 2020 for carrying luggage on an airplane.

According to the adopted November law, the new baggage allowance allows for one piece of a bag or suitcase weighing up to 30 kg. Less is allowed, more is not. Individual baggage is issued for each passenger.

Important! The allowable weight of things depends on the ticket category: economy, business or first class. The higher the class of the ticket, the more opportunities are provided for the amount of luggage.

Separate baggage can be issued for a child under two years old. The weight of the bag must not exceed 10 kg.

There is no single global standard for all airlines. It is worth focusing on the country to which the passenger is flying. For example, when traveling to Dubai, objects and literary publications of a religious orientation are prohibited for transportation, with the exception of Islam. Also consider the restrictions of each airline individually.

Excess baggage

So, if a passenger has purchased an economy class ticket, then he can carry baggage weighing up to 23 kg. With a larger load, the traveler undertakes to pay extra, but some air carriers allow a small excess without additional payment.

If you know in advance that baggage will fall into the excess category, check with your air carrier for the cost of the surcharge.

Baggage over 30 kg - heavy baggage

Carriage of luggage on the plane: the new rules equate the weight of more than 30 kg to the heavy category. Previously, the maximum weight was up to 32 kg.

For such loads, you should pay extra for each kilogram. There are no uniform tariffs, each company sets the price at its own discretion.

In addition to excess weight, there may be an excess of dimensions in the sum of three dimensions. These things include:

  • mountain skis and other large sports equipment;
  • musical instruments, for example, guitar, double bass;
  • household appliances such as a refrigerator.

For the transportation of such goods, a preliminary agreement with the company is required. Before the flight, contact the support service. On the day of departure, it is better to arrive at the airport in advance, as it will take more time to check in a special cargo.

Some carriers allow ski equipment to be carried free of charge in winter time or diving boards to resorts.

Companies have the right to refuse transportation of oversized cargo if the cargo compartments are too small or there is not enough space.

Baggage free ticket

A number of airlines support the no-baggage service. According to him, the passenger flies only with hand luggage. This method has both advantages and disadvantages. The pluses include the low cost of the flight. The downside is that the tickets are non-refundable.

Consolidated baggage

For couples, traveling families, colleagues and friends, there is a luggage pooling service. You can put all things in one suitcase, which will be listed as one piece of luggage.

Fragile luggage

When transporting glassware, electronics and decor items, many passengers worry about the safety of things, because most often at airports suitcases are treated carelessly, thrown into a general dump.

In such situations, the traveler can check in baggage marked “fragile”. To do this, provide information when registering things, and the suitcase will not be allowed on the tape. It will be carried by loaders to the luggage compartment.

Note! The possibility of handling fragile baggage does not guarantee the safety of the passenger's belongings.

Fragile items that meet the parameters of hand luggage are best taken into the cabin. The main thing is that things do not contain liquid. Jars with jam and compotes will have to be abandoned by handing them over to the luggage compartment.

hand luggage

How much luggage is allowed on the plane? Amendments to the law on air travel that came into force in November limited the minimum weight of hand luggage. Previously, it was possible to carry at least 10 kg for non-refundable and refundable tickets for free, now the limit is from 5 kg.

Most carriers allowed a 10 kg suitcase to be carried on board. For transportation in the luggage compartment took an additional fee.

The new law means that the airline is obliged to take in the cabin from 5 kg, but if desired, it is possible to increase the weight upwards. For example, "S7", "UTair" and "Aeroflot" announced their intention to leave the previous norms of 10 kg.

Aeroflot's official website currently has the following rules:

In addition, the list of free items for carrying on board in addition to hand luggage has undergone changes. We'll talk about them below.

What items can be taken into the cabin without being checked in as hand luggage?

According to the old requirements, it was allowed to take the following things to the salon for free without weighing, tagging and registration:

  • costume;
  • laptop;
  • video camera;
  • camera;
  • mobile phone;
  • baby food for the duration of the flight in an unrestricted flight;
  • carrying for the baby (folding cradle or folding stroller);
  • books, magazines, newspapers;
  • outerwear;
  • women's handbag;
  • briefcase;
  • folder with papers and documents;
  • cane;
  • crutches;
  • umbrella;
  • bouquet of flowers.

Now the umbrella, laptop and cellular telephone. The Ministry of Transport explained these changes by the possibility of removing the listed items in the bag.

In addition, the list of free items for transportation was supplemented with a new item - a backpack. The management of Pobeda Airlines confirmed the information that the transportation of backpacks will be allowed if its size fits into the established norms of the company.

For Pobeda, hand luggage restrictions will be 36 × 30 × 27, while the minimum ticket price will start from five hundred rubles.

Things allowed in hand luggage and with you

A passenger may wish to keep a number of items with him or in hand luggage. These include:

  • carbon dioxide balloons (used to activate artificial limbs);
  • eyeglass repair tools, including a screwdriver less than 50 mm long;

Actions on loss

No one is protected from losing things on air travel. Items go missing when loaded or loaded into the baggage compartment, they are accidentally sent on another flight.

In case of loss of personal belongings, follow the instructions:

  1. Make sure you have your luggage receipt on hand;
  2. Apply with a leaflet to the department of search for missing things;
  3. Write a statement;

Within three weeks, the carrier chosen by the passenger is obliged to find the items and return them. The parcel is delivered to your home for free, and the client does not have to go anywhere and pay for anything.

When returning damaged baggage or missing it after three weeks, you can contact the company with a request to compensate for the losses.

If the carrier refused to compensate for the damage, the citizen has the right to request a written refusal, with which he can go to court for further proceedings.

The Montreal Convention has consolidated an international agreement that stipulates the maximum possible compensation for the loss of a bag - 1131 SDR (artificial reserve and means of payment issued by the IMF). It's about $1500.

In practice, the figure depends on the specific carrier. Foreign companies pay an average of $20/kg. Major foreign airlines may pay the excess amount according to their internal rules. Russian airlines pay about 600 rubles each.

If a passenger has lost baggage while on an international flight, they should apply for a search no later than one week after the date of receipt of the items.

On domestic flights, it is allowed to leave a claim within six months from the date of loss.

Standard compensation requires a description of the missing baggage. If you have receipts for lost items, you can present them with a statement. Then you should expect a full or partial refund.

Advice! If you are transporting fragile or valuable items, insure them before flying with a declared value by paying an additional fee.
