Betta is located 20 m above sea level, and you have to go down to the beach. The village has about a thousand inhabitants, but with the onset of the holiday season its population increases several times. There are boarding houses, recreation centers and sanatoriums. Holidays in Betta are very popular - people from different parts of Russia come here to relax and receive medical treatment. The village is very beautiful, well-groomed, clean all around, many trees, an abundance of flowers.
Betta Climate
The climate is favorable for a beach holiday: the air warms up to 38 degrees, but light sea breezes are pleasantly refreshing. The air is humid, saturated with the smells of the sea and pine needles, however, when compared with other Black Sea resorts in Russia, for example, Sochi, the air here is less humid.
On the slopes of the mountains surrounding the village there are pine trees, juniper trees, and dogwood groves. It’s good to breathe and it’s nice to the eye.
Beaches in Betta
The beach is pebble, stretches approximately 300 m, width from 5 to 25 meters, the bottom is sandy and flat, children have plenty of places to splash around. On the shore they have a variety of attractions at their disposal.
Where to live?
In Betta you can live either in the private sector (rent a house, apartment, room), or in a boarding house, sanatorium, hotel, camping. The campsites are equipped with everything necessary (light, toilet, guarded parking, drinking water, store). There are mini-hotels and guest houses that are ready to provide you with cozy, comfortable accommodation. There are no problems with food either: boarding houses offer their guests breakfast, lunch and dinner, and there are canteens, cafes and restaurants. Mostly, people come to enjoy a quiet family holiday in Betta with children.

How to get there?
You can get to Betta from Gelendzhik, as well as from Anapa and Novorossiysk by regular bus or taxi.
On the last day of summer we went to the resort coastal village of the Krasnodar Territory - Betta. This resort town is located not so far from Gelendzhik. Holidays in the village of Betta are loved mainly by people who are looking for peace and do not like noise, wild crowds and high prices.
Betta is part of the resort area of Gelendzhik. I won’t say that from Gelendzhik to Betta it’s really that close, you have to drive 50 kilometers. This village is located in the mountains, in a very picturesque place.
How to get to Betta from Krasnodar
From Krasnodar to Betta we drove along the M4 highway towards Dzhubga. But you don’t need to get all the way to Dzhubga (Hallelujah! I can’t stand this road). There will be a further turn towards Arkhipo-Osipovka. Arkhipo-Osipovka is a large coastal village, almost a city with a bunch of hotels, entertainment, and a water park. Betta is located very close to Krinitsa.
The road to get there is very picturesque! Mountains, orchards with plums and apples. The plums had already been picked at the end of August, but the apples simply beckoned with their red barrels. But we are civilized people, we didn’t steal and pick apples from the orchards.
The village itself is very small, no more than 1000 people live there. It seems that they are all involved in organizing holidays for visitors. There are signs everywhere: “Housing for rent”, “Rooms”, etc. Most visitors rent private housing in the village of Betta. Although there are hotels and guest houses there too.
Sea and beaches in Betta
The sea is not visible from Betta itself. Look where the whole stream of tourists is heading, with bare bellies and inflatable rings under their arms, and feel free to follow them.
You just need to walk a little bit - and there you have it, the beach in Betta. Pebble, small, quite a lot of people despite the fact that tomorrow is September 1st. However, I already wrote about the velvet season on the Black Sea. I'm not the only one who loves him. Relaxing on the Black Sea in September is very cool.
My review: I personally would not go to Betta. Pebbles, small crowded beach, boring. Naturally, I don’t force my opinion on anyone. Judging by the number of vacationers, they quite like it there and have a wonderful time under the southern sun.
To be fair, it must be said that Betta has its advantages: firstly, vacationing there is cheaper than in Gelendzhik, for example, and secondly, the sea is cleaner, because Betta is a small village where there are no factories or large enterprises. And besides The central beach in Betta has a lot of beaches hidden in the rocks. They mainly belong to tourist centers and campsites. There are a lot of them on the coast from Arkhipo-Osipovka to Betta, choose which one you like best!

To put it correctly, Betta is not even a village, but a farm. There are no more than a thousand local residents here. I don’t know what they do all year, but in the summer all the residents of Betta are retrained as tourist staff.
Therefore, Betta is a secluded Black Sea resort. There are enough people there at the height of the season, but not as much as in Gelendzhik.

And now to the main thing - what to do in Betta? The nature here is magnificent! Junipers, Pitsunda and Crimean pines, thujas, acacias and other vegetation, plus rich gardens and vineyards - beauty! Walk, breathe, relax. And the sea is more or less clean and warm. So the holiday in Betta is rather quiet and vegetable. If you want noise and fun, Gelendzhik is nearby.
A popular place among lovers of a quiet and relaxing holiday. It is protected from the cold northern winds by a chain of low mountains, thanks to which it got its name - “bete” is translated from Adyghe as “humpbacked”. Mount Ararat, 350 m high, hangs over Betta from the northeast. Its slopes descending to the sea form a series of beautiful wild beaches with steep shores and a rich underwater world.
The village is surrounded on three sides by gardens and mountains covered with Pitsunda pine, acacia, thuja, juniper and cypress. Thanks to this, the air here is healing, saturated with phytoncides. Ideal ecology combined with a warm, clean sea makes Betta an attractive climatic resort.
How to get to Betta
The closest airport to Betta is Gelendzhik Airport, located 56 km northwest of the village. From there, take bus No. 5 to the “old” bus station in Gelendzhik (ticket price 20 RUB) and transfer to regular bus No. 109 Gelendzhik - Betta (11 trips per day in summer and 7 in winter, from 5:20 to 20:10, time travel time 1 hour 30 minutes, 84 RUB). The nearest railway station is in Novorossiysk. Trains arrive on it from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and other Russian cities. From the railway station, take trolleybus No. 6 to the bus station, located at the other end of the city. From there there is a regular bus Novorossiysk - Betta (85 km, in summer it leaves up to 4 times a day, the journey takes 3 hours 40 minutes, ticket - 200 RUB). In order not to waste time waiting for a direct bus, you can go to Gelendzhik and transfer there to the Gelendzhik - Betta bus. A taxi from Novorossiysk to Betta will cost from 1900 RUB, the journey will take 1 hour 30 minutes.
Another option is to get to the Goryachiy Klyuch station, 108 km from Betta, where all trains going to the Black Sea coast stop. Next - by bus Krasnodar - Betta (during the season 4 times a day) or by intercity buses Krasnodar - Novorossiysk, Krasnodar - Gelendzhik with a transfer in the village of Pshada. The cost of a taxi ride from Goryachiy Klyuch to Betta is at least 2500 RUB, the journey takes 1 hour 50 minutes.
By car, follow the M-4 Don federal highway from Krasnodar towards Novorossiysk. 2 km after the large village of Pshada, turn left at the “Betta” sign.

Little Betta does not have its own public transport. Regular buses of the MUP "Gelendzhik PATO" company and private minibuses connect the resort with the nearest settlements. You can take bus number 109 to Gelendzhik (7-11 trips per day from 6:05 to 21:00, 84 RUB). Bus No. 111 runs between Betta and the village of Pshada (5-6 trips from 7:35 to 19:20, 26 RUB). You can also go to Pshada by minibuses, which run every hour. Intercity buses depart daily from Betta to Krasnodar (1-4 flights, 4 hours on the road, 300 RUB per ticket) and to Novorossiysk (1-4 flights, 3 hours 40 minutes, 200 RUB).
There are no taxi companies in Betta, but there will always be private owners. If necessary, you can order a taxi from Gelendzhik by phone or online. Official rates: landing 40-50 RUB, then 15-20 RUB/km, waiting 5 RUB/minute.
Bicycles for rent
There are no bicycle rental companies in Betta, but some hotels organize paid rentals for their guests. In the boarding house "Yuzhny", the guest house "Kiparis" and the rest house "Betta" it costs about 500 RUB per day. If you wish, you can go to Gelendzhik on the street for a two-wheeled friend. Primorskaya, where three rental companies operate at once. The price is 100 RUB per hour or 500 RUB per day.

Having a car significantly expands the geography of your vacation, while allowing you to not depend on public transport schedules. The offices of the rental companies Hertz, IdRIVE and Rentmotors closest to Betta are located at Gelendzhik Airport. The cost of renting a Volkswagen Polo starts from 2,300 RUB per day and from 12,100 RUB per week. It is not necessary to go to the airport yourself - at the customer’s request, the car will be delivered where needed, but you will have to pay an additional 2000 RUB.
The price of AI-92 gasoline at the gas stations closest to Betta is 43.7 RUB, AI-95 - 47.58 RUB, AI-98 - 43.10 RUB, diesel fuel - 50.02 RUB per liter.
It must be borne in mind that local roads, including the federal M-4 Don, have one lane in each direction and traffic jams on them are quite common. In addition, the police of the Krasnodar region are distinguished by their uncompromising nature, which they like to demonstrate to drivers from other regions. There are no paid street or underground parking in Betta. Parking at most hotels and in the private sector is free, but in some boarding houses and recreation centers they cost 100-150 RUB per day.
Beaches of Betta
The clean sea is undoubtedly the main advantage of the resort. Its Central Beach, with a pebble surface and a gentle entry into the water, is relatively small, only 350 m long. But despite its modest size, it has everything you need - street cafes, fast food stalls, water attractions, sun canopies, rental of umbrellas, sun loungers, sports equipment inventory.
How much: a sun lounger under a canopy - 200 RUB for the whole day, a paragliding flight behind a boat - 1500 RUB, aquazorb adults/children under 12 years old - 400/200 RUB.
To the east from the Central Beach all the way to Arkhipo-Ospovka stretches a chain of narrow wild beaches with gentle slopes or rocky cliffs. The seabed here is rocky, covered with algae and shell rock. The underwater world is quite interesting - a lot of fish, rapans, seahorses. These are the favorite dive sites of local divers. The wild beach, a half-hour walk west of the resort, is popular with nudists.
Betta Hotels
In terms of variety of accommodation facilities, little Betta is not inferior to the leaders of resort holidays - there are boarding houses and recreation centers, guest houses and mini-hotels, apartments and, of course, the private sector. The only thing that is missing here is the “star” classification of hotels. You can rent a modest room in the private sector 10-15 minutes from the sea, even at the peak of the season, for 500-600 RUB per day. This option is especially in demand among residents of the Krasnodar Territory who come for the weekend. Sometimes their neighborhood may seem too noisy.
A double room in a guest house, recreation center or mini-hotel, depending on the level of comfort, proximity to the sea, availability of a swimming pool, kitchen and other amenities, costs from 1000 to 4000 RUB per night. Renting a separate house will cost 3000-6000 RUB. The flagship of Betta's resort holiday is the Yuzhny boarding house, the minimum cost of living there is 5200 RUB with three meals a day.
What to bring
In addition to tanning and colorful sea pebbles, people bring from Betta herbal teas, mountain honey from the surrounding apiaries, hazelnuts, delicious “churchkhela” and marshmallows made from local fruits and berries - dogwood, blackberries, raspberries. Local craftsmen make all kinds of souvenirs from the fragrant juniper - boxes, combs, coasters.
The local wines with half-forgotten names from Soviet times are very tempting: “Black Eyes”, “Southern Night”, “Smile”, “Amber Muscat”. It is best to buy them in the Vina Kuban chain stores. Price 200-500 RUB per bottle. The main thing is to find the words “natural wine” on the label. Its absence is a sure sign that the drink is made from powder or concentrate.
Cafes and restaurants Betta
Local chefs treat vacationers to familiar dishes of Russian and Caucasian cuisine - borscht, solyanka, kebabs, pancakes, pork chops, tobacco chicken and dumplings. The main catering forces are concentrated on the Central Beach and Podgornaya Street leading to it.
Betta's only restaurant, Sugdeya, pleases with its pleasant interior, live music and good cuisine. Cafes “Parus” and “Flagman” are good to come with children. For lovers of meat on skewers, we can recommend “Shashlik Dvor”. Establishments with nostalgic names “USSR Canteen”, “Canteen No. 1” and the like captivate with their affordable prices. Soups cost 70-120 RUB, the price of meat dishes is 80-130 RUB per 100 grams. For those who like to party, there is a disco in the Betta cafe in the evenings.
A good dinner with wine at the Sugdeya restaurant will cost 700-900 RUB, lunch in a cafe - 300-500 RUB, set lunch in the dining room - 200-300 RUB.
Local fast food is represented by street stalls with fresh baked goods, whites and hot dogs. Those who buy vouchers with paid meals should take into account that catering establishments in Betta’s boarding houses and holiday homes have remained classic canteens of Soviet times.
Entertainment and attractions
The best panorama of Betta can be seen from the observation deck at Cape Chugovas in the western part of the resort. On clear days you can even see the snowy peaks of the Caucasus from here.
Once a year, at the beginning of summer, an interesting natural phenomenon occurs here - bright butterflies emerge from pupae in the nearby forests. Hundreds of thousands of them fly to the sea, lose strength and, sinking into the water, die. In August, another unusual phenomenon occurs - the night glow of the sea. The reason for this is the mass reproduction of the unicellular algae “nightlight” - an integral part of the Black Sea plankton.
A trip along the Pshada River valley, where dolmens are preserved - monuments of megalithic culture, made of large stone slabs approximately 3-2 millennium BC, will bring a lot of impressions to lovers of active recreation. e. There are many versions of the origin of these mysterious structures, but the opinions of scientists and modern lovers of esotericism differ radically. Already in our time, some of them have received their own names: “Thor”, “Tenderness”, “Creativity”, “Khan”.

When you come to the village of Betta on vacation in 2019, you will be surprised at how slowly time passes here - you can enjoy unity with nature, put your feelings and thoughts in order without the bustle and noise of big cities. Houses and recreation centers are inexpensive - prices are quite affordable for a budget-conscious family. Young couples and families with children also come here.
When settling in Betta, you will not have any difficulty choosing a place to stay. The private sector plays a key role in providing accommodation for vacationers - rural one-story houses, neat guest houses and mini-hotels. On the territory of the village there is a large holiday home, as well as an equipped campsite for motor tourists. Most of the residential areas are located on a hill approximately 300m from the coast. The most expensive accommodation is offered in those hotels that are as close as possible to the coastline, but there are few of them.
How to get there
The location of Betta, like almost all small villages on the Caucasian coast, was determined by the presence of a river bed that flows here into the Black Sea. The water area of the village is located between two small capes, although the sea is considered open here. Before Gelendzhik from Betta approximately 53 km north. To the south, 10 km away there is a larger village Arkhipo-Osipovka, well, the closest neighbor is the village Krinitsa.
To get to the village, you can move from both the southern and northern sides.
Through the north:

Legally, Betta is actually a farmstead. There are not even a thousand local people here. Although for a secluded resort this is probably a plus. The history of its formation dates back to 1896. According to the police of that time, miners began to settle in this area, looking for work on the southern borders. According to other sources, the settlement arose due to a split in the ranks of the Narodnaya Volya members who lived nearby in Krinitsa. In any case, Betta is a workers' village in the full sense of the expression. The name comes from the Adyghe word, which translates as “hunchbacked”. Either because the first settlers worked hard all their lives, or because of the terrain, which is quite hilly.
Holidays in Betta are a kind of beach resort green tourism. The local flora is the richest on the entire coast. Junipers, Pitsunda and Crimean pines, thujas, acacias and other vegetation, plus rich gardens and vineyards - with all this, the farm attracts vacationers no less than the Black Sea itself.
Things to do
There are no historical monuments on the farm, but you won’t be bored. In addition to the sea and the beach, there are many opportunities to take interesting walks along the nearby mountain slopes, cut by numerous gorges. After driving about 20 km, you will get to Pshada, where you can see dolmens of various periods and other remains of ancient architectural structures. In addition, the Pshad and Bigius waterfalls, a fishing farm, the remains of a Byzantine fortress - this and much more are just 15 minutes away. Gelendzhik is also nearby, just 40 km. from the resort.

The line of beaches stretches inextricably from Krinitsy to Betta and further south, up to Arkhipo-Osipovka. Directly next to the village there is a natural beach, covered with small pebbles and sand. The central part stretches only 300m, but is fully equipped. But wild beaches are more popular here. Some have virtually no strip of land, and the rocky landscape immediately goes into the water. It is an ideal place to explore marine life and dive. The bottom relief can be quite sharp, which allows diving in close proximity to the shore. The camping beach is located further south, towards Krinitsa.
Latest reviews about holidays in Betta
It seemed that we had already been everywhere on the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar Territory and then accidentally found out about Betta. We called the “Quiet Courtyard in Betta” and reserved a room. The hostess Inna, with a pleasant voice, spoke in great detail about the room and the rules of residence. Four of us came on vacation: me, my husband, my daughter and my grandson. We had a four-bed room with all amenities. The bed linen is new, very nice colors. Everything is very clean and tidy. Wi-Fi with good speed. Everything is provided for a comfortable stay, even a clothes dryer with clothespins (I always took them with me) and a fumigator. The yard amazes with the abundance of greenery, beautiful rose bushes and other plants. Convenient location of benches for relaxation. The kitchen is equipped with everything necessary for cooking, heating and eating food. There is a stationary grill. For children there is a very good playground with slides, swings, houses, etc. Free parking in the yard.
The sea is very clean, as is the beach. Dolphins often swam! There are many cafes and restaurants near the beach to suit every taste. The daughter and grandson explored the territory of the sanatorium on the mountain and the “wild” beach.
It takes 7-10 minutes to walk to the sea. There are taxis if it’s hard to walk up and down. They'll take you straight to the beach))
The owners are very intelligent and well-mannered people, very friendly and responsive. Many thanks to Inna and Sergei for a wonderful vacation and comfort. We decided to come on vacation in August.
