The length of the beach is about 600 meters, and the width varies from 20 to 40 meters.

Nissi Beach is covered with fine snow-white (imported) sand, pleasant to the touch and comfortable to walk on even barefoot. The seabed here is also sandy, the water is clear with a turquoise tint. The entry into the water is gentle, the depth increases gradually, and due to being in a bay protected from the wind, there are almost never waves on the beach. All this makes the beach attractive and safe for families with small children.

From the western part of the beach there is a sandy isthmus into the sea, connecting the shore with a small island. Depending on the ebb and flow of the tides, the isthmus can either go under water or appear. The island has a flat part and a rocky hill, which extreme sports enthusiasts often use to jump into the sea from a cliff. The island offers excellent views; many tourists come here at sunrise or sunset to take photographs. Since the surface of the island is rocky, it is better to take shoes with you for walking on it.

One of the disadvantages of the beach is the appearance of algae in the second half of summer. The beach staff monitors this and constantly removes them with a special net, but this is not enough. In this case, you have to look for areas of the coast where there is the least amount of algae.

As a rule, the beach is quite crowded, however, due to its spaciousness, you can usually still find cozy place to settle down. Katsarka Beach is one of the less crowded beaches in Cyprus. An acceptable place for relaxation and walking, located one and a half meters from the port of Ayia Napa. Katsarka Beach occupies the mouth of a once dry river near the city port.

The surface of the beach is sand and pebbles, the waves are quite large, the sea is deep and has a rocky bottom. Length along the bank: 250 meters, width: 30 meters. This is probably the only beach in Ayia Napa that we would not recommend for families with children, since unlike other beaches, the entrance to the water here is quite sharp, deep, and the bottom is rocky. And sometimes the waves are quite strong.

Advantages of this place: beautiful landscape, fresh sea air, a nearby chapel, clear sea and privacy. On the beach there is a rental of sun loungers and umbrellas; showers, changing rooms, toilets; rental of sports equipment; bars, restaurants; rental of motorcycles, bicycles. The rescue service operates daily from 10.00 to 18.00.

Loukkos Tou Mandi Beach

Lukkos tou Mandi Beach is a rocky beach without the amenities of a regular city beach, which is located west of Ayia Napa harbour. It is most often chosen by young and middle-aged people to refresh themselves while walking around the center of Ayia Napa and the harbor, as well as after having fun at the Parko Paliatso amusement park located nearby. In the evening the beach serves nice place For have a relaxing holiday on the seashore. Lukkos tou Mandi beach is not suitable for children's swimming due to the dangerous rocky entrance to the water.

The shore of Loukos tou Mandi Beach is covered with fine, light sand; in some places there are areas with a mixture small pebbles and shells. The length of the beach shore is 150 meters, width is 15 meters. The entrance to the sea along the entire beach is rocky. The bottom of the sea near the shore is covered with large stones of volcanic origin protruding above the surface of the water. At the western edge of the beach, a decorative pier is laid out with stone, extending five meters into the water from the shore. The pier does not reach deep water; there is no descent to the water from the pier. Tourists use the stone pier for photo sessions against the backdrop of the sea - especially interesting pictures are taken during medium waves. A little to the right of the pier from the cliff there is a staircase leading down to deep water - this is the most convenient and safest way to access the sea on the beach.

Due to the rocky entrance to the water, even with complete calm or low waves, you should be careful when entering the sea. With medium and high waves, entering the sea at Loukos tou Mandi Beach becomes especially dangerous.

The Municipality of Ayia Napa carries out algae removal from the shore as necessary. There is no lifeguard service at Lukkos tou Mandi. There are no beach equipment rentals, showers, changing cabins, or toilets on the beach. Vacationers on the beach sit on their towels. There are no water activities on Lukkos tou Mandi. Due to the dangerous entry into the water and the lack of amenities during the day, visitors to Lukkos tou Mandi are few. There are no cafes or bars on Lukkos tou Mandi. You can bring food with you to the beach and have a picnic on the seashore.

Ammos Kambouri Beach

Ammos Kambori Beach is an uncrowded beach with stunning views, small stretches of fine golden sand and calm waters. Refers to places marked with the EU Blue Flag, which means that it meets global requirements for safety, cleanliness and level of service.

The length of the beach is 100 meters, width - 25 meters. Clean, safe, equipped and at the same time uncrowded Ammos Kambori beach is located between Limnaria beach and sea caves, 2.5 km from Ayia Napa. It occupies a coastline of 100 meters.

The waters here are very calm, the surface of the shore is partially covered with golden sand. On the beach there are toilets, changing rooms, sun loungers, umbrellas; equipment and facilities for water sports; Grocery and grocery stores located nearby. Rescue services operate here throughout the swimming season: in April, May, September and October - from 09.00 to 17.00; in June, July and August - from 10.00 to 18.00. The best and most popular beach in Cyprus is Nissi Beach. About what to see in the area, what to do and where to go in Ayia Napa. Hotels near Nissi Beach. Fresh impressions before the start of the 2017 season.

When I first arrived holiday in Cyprus in the late 90s, I visited everywhere except Ayia Napa And Protaras. As a result, for a long time I believed that everything Cyprus beaches same as on coast of Larnaca or Limassol. I rediscovered Cyprus for myself several years later, after that I was on the island several times, I traveled around it thoroughly, so I know the “subject” quite well.

About the best beaches of Cyprus I’m going to tell you soon, but for now I’ll show you the beach, which the Cypriots themselves consider almost the best in the world. There are many reasons for this, Nissi Beach today the most famous and one of the most beautiful beaches on Cyprus. Tour operators themselves say among themselves that if holiday in Cyprus, then in Ayia Napa. It's really great there.

Nissi Beach is at the beginning Nissi Avenue, if you enter Ayia Napu from Larnaca side. The first line is luxury hotels with swimming pools, patios, bars and other amenities, the second line, that is, across the road, is simpler hotels and apartments. To the center Ayia Napa at least a couple of kilometers and in this case this is more of a plus than a minus.

When does the season start in Cyprus?

Nissi Beach opens the season like most beaches/hotels from April to October inclusive, already in May on Nissi Beach– high season, peak in July-August. I was here in August and I don’t really recommend this month to those who love peace and quiet. Relatively calm on Cyprus in May-June, the beaches are not crowded, there are a reasonable number of tourists.

Who loves Nissi Beach

Nissi Beach popular with partygoers, in July-August there are a lot of English people, for them Ayia Napa in July – British country club. Our people do not lag behind the British either. Their leisure format is simple - in the morning - sleep until lunch, then warm-up on the beach - bar, swimming and socializing, which flows into clubs in the evening. The main city clubs of Ayia Napa are located approximately 2-3 kilometers from Nissi Beach, downtown. Naturally the most beautiful girls also relax on Nissi Beach What a reason to come to this beach.

Nissi Beach. Description and photo

Nissi Beach stretches for about 500 meters and is divided by a sand spit into two unequal parts. The spit ends with a small island and is considered the highlight of Nissi Beach. Most of the beach photos were taken at this location.

Gentle smooth entry into the water, the depth begins after about 30-50 meters, fine white sand interspersed with gray, due to which the white sand takes on a cold tint.

Water color so turquoise that you want to get into the water already in March, the water temperature in March is about +16. For the sake of science, I had to get into the water and swim. In terms of cleanliness, both the sea and the beach are comparable to Greece, where, as is known, there are best beaches Mediterranean.

The main difference between Cyprus beaches from the beaches South-East Asia– they are forced tightly onto sunbeds. Sunbeds are paid, the price is 2.5 euros per day. There are free places on the sand, but not many; most sunbathe on sunbeds.

Infrastructure Nissi Beach includes bars on the beach, center water activities, a diving center, buggy and ATV rentals, several cool hotels around, sun loungers, umbrellas, hotel restaurants and several restaurants on Main Street near the beach. Within walking distance there are plenty of shops with beach accessories, souvenirs, food and alcohol shops.

Nissi Beach (Ayia Napa), where to go in the surrounding area

There are no classic historical attractions in the vicinity of Nissi Beach, or in the whole of Ayia Napa, except for the Ayia Napa Monastery or the sculpture garden.

On the opposite side of Nissi Beach, towards the center of Ayia Napa, there is a beautiful new marina - Ayia Napa Harbor, about 3.5 km away. from Nissi Beach, there is also a small embankment.

Naturally, relaxing on the beach Nissi Beach or on others beaches of Ayia Napa, it’s worth renting an ATV or buggy and driving Cape Greco and the most beautiful Konnos Beach, which is closer to Protaras.

Beaches near Nissi Beach (Ayia Napa)

Total k Ayia Napa area There are 14 beaches, all of them are marked blue flags for cleanliness. Even during peak season Ayia Napa beaches cleaner than Protaras beaches or Paphos. I will highlight only the closest most beautiful ones to Nissi Beach.

If you look at the sea, then to the right of Nissi Beach there are three beautiful beaches. I arranged them according to their proximity to Nissi Beach.

  • Adams Beach - Nissi Beach's tiny neighbor
  • Landa Beach
  • Macronissos Beach - a beautiful beach just 800 meters from Nissi Beach;

To the left of Nissi Beach There are two more nice beaches. You can get to them along a pedestrian path along the sea.

  • Vathia Beach (Sandy Bay)
  • Pernera Beach

Hotels near Nissi Beach

In fact, the entire area directly in front of the beach is occupied by big hotel Nissi Beach Resort. You can park your rental car in the parking lot in front of the hotel; in March-April 2017 it was free.

  • Nissi Beach Resort
  • Adams Beach deluxe Wing And Adams Beach Hotel– these two hotels are located near the small beach Adams Beach, which is a satellite Nissi Beach and also quite cozy.

On the second line
on the other side Nissi Avenue housing is no worse, but much cheaper. Nissi Beach can be reached on foot from these hotels in 3 to 10 minutes:

  • Christofinia Hotel
  • Nissi Park Hotel

How to find a budget and comfortable hotel in Cyprus

We don’t like to overpay and use the search through an international website HotelsCombined (Room Guru). In the search field, we enter the city or resort we need and select hotels. The site monitors the main booking systems, including Booking or Agoda, and offers the most profitable option. Try it, we really like it.

You can find out about new airline promotions and current sales on the website mandria.ua Well, if you don’t want to relax on your own, choose ready-made tour to Cyprus .

We have been vacationing in Cyprus for two years in a row and using the site Myrentacar.com, which brings together the best local rental companies in Cyprus. Strengths site - reliability, a good choice cars and reasonable prices, support in Russian, 24-hour communication via Viber. We bought cars from them several times - from the budget Mazda 2 to the AudiA4, there were also intermediate price options. Prepayment is only 15%, cancellation is possible.

I also advise you to read the material about How to rent a car in Cyprus - everything is quite simple and clear.

How to buy a cheap air ticket to Cyprus

I am using the service aviasales.ru. Why? Because he finds me the cheapest tickets, because there is a map there low prices, which helps me plan my vacation, because in the end it is convenient and reliable. To search for tickets, you can use the low price calendar - enter the departure/arrival point and click on the date with the appropriate price, everything is clear at the level of intuition.

Transfer from the airport in Cyprus

Cyprus– top summer direction and taxi drivers at the airport often raise prices for their services. In addition, most of them do not have child car seats. It is not installed because it takes up the seat of an adult passenger. Because of this, tourists with children have to run around the airport looking for a free car with a child car seat.

Both problems can be solved very simply. Transfer, both individual and group, is possible. There you can also choose the option with a child seat. You won’t have to overpay taxi drivers and there will be no problems with the safety of children.

Everything happens very simply. Afterwards, you will be met by a driver with a sign with your name written on it. Immediately after leaving the arrivals hall, you get into the car and drive to your hotel.

The best beach in Cyprus, according to the majority, is Nissi Beach. Description of the beach, hotels and apartments near Nissi Beach, bars and clubs of Ayia Napa, what to do on Nissi Beach, photos and reviews of tourists about Nissi Beach.

Nissi Beach - description and photos

Nissi in Greek - island, and Nissi Beach got its name after a small island 50 meters from the shore, which is connected to the beach by a narrow spit along which you can walk. There is nothing on the island, just stones and thickets of cacti, but the view is magnificent. Here you can feel relative solitude, of course, in comparison with the party Nissi beach. You can take beautiful photos from the island, especially at sunrise or before sunset.

Nissi Beach - Nissi Beach, Cyprus

And the beach itself Nissi Beach– this is more than 500 meters of snow-white sand. Not very natural for Cyprus, given that the natural beaches are mostly clay or rocky. The exception is the beaches, but even there the sand is not as white as on Nissi Beach. The secret is that the sand is imported - it was brought to Nissi Beach many years ago and since then the beach has been maintained in perfect condition. Moreover, at any time of the year, and we are here in autumn, spring, and summer. Mine blue flag of quality Nissi Beach bears completely deservedly.

In addition to the white, clean and pleasant-to-touch sand, Nissi Beach has a gentle entrance to the water and a smooth but rapid increase in depth. It's just a few steps to reach a comfortable chest-deep sea depth. Due to its location, there are practically no waves here, even during periodic spring storms, albeit small ones.

Nissi Beach - Nissi Beach, Cyprus

The color of the water is so turquoise that you want to get into the water already in March, despite the water temperature of about plus 16 Celsius. But for the sake of experimentation and sensations, I had to take a swim, even though I’m not a fan of cold water. The cleanliness of the sea in both spring and summer is ideal and reminiscent of the best Greek island beaches.

The number of sun loungers is sufficient, however, during the peak season, almost everything is occupied here, including just places on the sand near the edge of the sea.

I forgot to say that Nissi Beach although it is built up with hotels with many stars, it is municipal. This means that anyone can come here completely calmly and regardless of whether you live in a local hotel or come from Protaras or Larnaca.

Nissi Beach - Nissi Beach, Cyprus

Infrastructure of Nissi Beach

In short, here, as in many similar places in Cyprus, there is everything your heart desires. From renting sunbeds and umbrellas for 2.5 Euro and beach bars with several dozen cocktails to a water entertainment center, diving and ATV rental.

In addition, the main feature Nissi beach Beach foam parties that take place three times a week, beautiful topless girls and various competitions on the verge of decency are considered, and of course white sand and excellent infrastructure. It is thanks to these points of attraction Nissi Beach became famous and popular. Therefore, if you want to relax with your children or be in silence, you should not come to Nissi in July-August. But at other times it is a completely different place, more reminiscent of a family paradise.

No money for bar pleasures - no problem. Within walking distance there are a lot of shops and stalls with alcohol and various goodies at regular prices, which are not higher than in Moscow.

Nissi Beach - Nissi Beach, Cyprus

How to get there and where is Nissi Beach

Nissi Beach is located . ex fishing village is now considered rightful best place for a beach holiday in Cyprus. Not least thanks to one of the most beautiful beaches in Cyprus – Nissi Beach.

The beach itself is located quite far from the city center and it is better to get here in the summer heat by rented car, rented ATV or buggy, or by city buses No. 101 and No. 102. Vehicles can be parked nearby hotel Nissi Beach There is no charge for parking during the off-season.

Total k Ayia Napa area There are 14 beaches and all of them are marked with blue flags for the cleanliness of the coast and sea. I will only mention the most beautiful beaches that are worth seeing if you are vacationing near Nissi Beach or in Ayia Napa.

Nissi Beach - Nissi Beach, Cyprus

If you face the sea, then to the right of Nissi Beach there are three beautiful beaches. All these beaches can be reached on foot or by bicycle.

Adams Beach— tiny neighbor Nissi Beach

Landa Beach– cozy and several times calmer than Nissy

Macronissos Beach- many consider it even more beautiful than Nissi Beach, it is located only 800 meters from it.

To the left of Nissi Beach there are two more beautiful beaches. You can also get to them along a pedestrian path along the sea.

Vathia Beach (Sandy Bay) and Pernera Beach– well-maintained beaches located in semicircular natural lagoons.

HotelsonbeachNissiBeach

On the first line are beautiful hotels business class with swimming pools, patios, bars and green lawns, which, despite the considerable cost, are sold out long before the start of the season - you can check it yourself - below I provide links to hotels for your convenience.

Tourist class hotels and apartments are located across the street from Nissi Avenue. If in plans active pastime, then it’s not worth overpaying for the first line. But if you want to wake up to the sound of the waves and spend more time on the beach, then of course choose a hotel closer to the sea. We tried both options at different times and below is a list of recommended apartments and hotels where we or our friends stayed.

In fact, the entire territory immediately in front Nissi Bi beach h occupies a large hotel Nissi Beach Resort. You can park your rental car in the parking lot in front of the hotel, it's free.

We went with our child in early May. We were afraid that the water would still be cold. But nothing, the water temperature was 20 degrees. The main thing is to get into it, and then there will be no discomfort. And it's okay to go out. There was simply no way to get the child out. The best thing about this beach is that it is shallow. The water warms up faster, which is what children need. If you want to swim, you need to go deeper, but the water there is colder. The beach is beautiful, the water is azure and transparent. We looked at him at home, he is very beautiful in the photographs, we did not even expect that he causes the same delight in person!
Sun beds on the beach cost 2.5 € per day. You can just lie down on a towel, many people do this. We went to the sea just to swim; we don’t like to get hot in the sun, so we spent most of our time on the free sun loungers near the pool. There you can find sunbeds in the shade. In general, the hotel area is completely surrounded by greenery. There is a fairly large garden in which it is pleasant to take a walk.
There are no complaints about the staff. They cleaned every day, changed towels, and delivered shampoos. At the reception, all issues were also resolved. No complaints. The only negative is weak internet.
I read in some comment to a review that people went to neighboring hotel and paid some crazy money for the Internet. It seems 10€ per person, and there were four of them. And they also wrote that they were happy that there was such an opportunity! I have no words. Almost all restaurants outside the hotel have free Internet! Or you can buy a 3G SIM card in a store, I don’t know exactly how much it costs, because we went to a restaurant for lunch or dinner and used it for free.
On the street, outside the hotel, there are many cafes for every taste. Almost all have playgrounds for children. Prices are more or less the same everywhere, although there are places where they are overpriced. We chose Apple. Somehow everything coincided for them. And it’s not far from the hotel, and the prices there are the best, and we liked the food there the most, and the child liked the playroom more than others. We also ate meze there, very tasty, most importantly everything was fresh. By the way, meze can be found in almost any bar, but as we understand, it is not meze everywhere. Once on the beach we got into a conversation with two couples and compared who ate which meze, so we won! We had the most delicious and interesting. Once we went to a Mexican restaurant in the center. Our dad is an amateur. We liked it too, but it was very crowded and noisy. We were there on a weekend and it was full of Cypriots celebrating their birthdays.
We went to the amusement park in the center. There were still few people, we were practically riding alone. There was another family there with a girl, and we went with them to all the attractions for the company. But they launched attractions even just for us. We went to the oceanarium. We took a taxi ourselves and drove off. Drive for 10-15 minutes. Tickets for adults are 13€, for children 7€. In addition to fish, there is a small zoo with crocodiles and penguins. Very great for children.
Of course, holidays in Cyprus are not the same as in Turkey or the UAE. Not much entertainment for children and the hotel grounds are different. But you should go to Cyprus on vacation not to take all-inclusive and stay in a hotel, but to enjoy the sea, the magnificent beach, walk around the city, go on excursions. We really liked it, we would return to Nissi Beach.
