    Jewelry design tablet (optional).

In order not to get confused in the order of stringing the beads and to see in advance what the finished product will look like, it is very convenient to lay out the beads of the future necklace on a jewelry design tablet before starting work. We place 11 pearls measuring 12 mm in the center, then on each side 10 pearls measuring 10 mm, and then 20 pearls measuring 8 mm. If the beads are too long for your needs, you can symmetrically remove the beads from each side and make the jewelry shorter.

Once the length of the decoration and the order of the beads have been determined, you can begin threading. For this decoration, I decided to use #04 white Griffin thread, since for 8 mm beads, which are the vast majority of the jewelry, #08 thread turned out to be a bit thick. We will later attach a lock to the end of the thread, so step back about 10 cm from the end of the thread and tie a simple single knot, and then using the needle built into the thread, string the first (outermost on the tablet) bead:

Tie a simple knot close to the bead, but don't tighten it yet:

To tighten the knot, it is best to use tweezers, but if you don’t have one, you can get by with pliers/round nose pliers with thin ends. Insert the tool into the knot and grab the thread right next to the bead:

With one hand, continue to hold the thread with the tool, and with the other hand, pull the tip of the thread, tightening the knot around the ends of the tool:

Grab the thread with pliers or tweezers just after the knot and pull it closer to the bead:

String the next bead and make a knot in exactly the same way immediately after it. The knots should be tied close to the bead. If you see that the knot is coming out a little further, it is better to untie it before it is too tight and redo it. Continue stringing bead after bead until you reach the last one.

Attach the ends of the decoration to attach the lock, in this case callots:

Tie a knot (or better yet, two if you see that the hole in the fittings is large and the knot may fall out) so that it ends up inside the cup.

Thread one of the thinner pieces of thread through the eye of the needle to make a loop. Then tie a knot in the thread so that it remains hanging in a loop on the eye of the needle. This loop will hold the thread on which the pearls will be strung.

  • Leave this loop on the needle so it can be used again and again. Think of it as a means of enlarging the small eye of a beading needle.
  • Thread the pearl thread through the loop. Cut the thread three times longer than the intended length of the necklace. Then fold the thread in half and thread the ends into the previously created thread loop on the needle. Pull the ends of the thread through the loop so far that they cannot easily pop out of it.

Thread the first half of the fastener onto the thread. Cut one half of the clasp from the old necklace thread and attach the new thread to it. To do this, insert a needle and thread into the fastening ring of the clasp, and then pass the needle through the loop at the end of the doubled thread. Tie a knot in the thread near the clasp to prevent the fastening loop on the ring from moving incorrectly.

String all the pearls onto the thread. When using pearls of different sizes, ensure that they gradually increase in size from the ends of the necklace to the center. You should have quite a bit of extra length of thread left.

Remove the needle from the thread and tie its double end with a double knot at the edge. This double knot will prevent the pearls from slipping off the thread while you tie the locking knots between them. You can temporarily move all the pearls towards the double knot so that they do not interfere.

  • Secure the first pearl with knots. Be sure to tie the first knot just behind the clasp to avoid scratching the first pearl due to contact with the metal. Move the first pearl to the first knot, and then tie another knot on the opposite side.

    • You may find it easier to form a knot loop directly on the pearl itself and then carefully tighten it.
    • Hold the string firmly on the pearl while you tighten the knot to get it in the right place.
  • Continue stringing the pearls and securing them with knots. Consistently move the pearls to the last knot and tie another knot on the other side of each of them.

    • After tying each next knot, spread and stretch the double threads away from each other to move the knot even closer to the pearl.
    • Try to control where the knots are formed using the end of the needle so that they are pressed tightly against the beads.
    • Also, a tight fit of the knots to the pearl will be facilitated by securely holding the loop of the knot tightened on the pearl with your finger.
  • There are different ways you can make your own pearl necklace that will perfectly match your outfit.

A necklace is an exquisite piece of jewelry that enhances the beauty of a woman; it has been known since ancient times and is present in images of women: sculptures, paintings, rock paintings. Completely different materials were used for the necklace (from colored stones to gold). Jewelry stores, online stores, and TV stores offer a wide selection of products. However, buyers are not always satisfied with the design of the necklace, the color scheme, or the price of the product. It is possible to make a necklace with your own hands.

    Tools required for making

To make a necklace you need the following materials:

    1. Pearl.
    2. Carnations for beads.
    3. Caps for beads.
    4. Clasp.
    5. Tools for work (needle-nose pliers, tweezers).

You can use it to make a necklace. It all depends on the choice and purpose of the necklace (you can wear it for a holiday, work).

Studs and caps for beads are intended to build the design of the necklace and should highlight the beauty of the pearls. They have different figured designs and complement the necklace with their figures.

Fasteners are different. They must be matched to the pearls, they must be easy to open and securely fasten the necklace.

It is necessary to use a tool that is in good working order and of the correct size.

    Manufacturing process

The process of making a necklace of this design is easy and simple. We put a pearl bead on the stud, then a cap, and carefully wrap the free end of the stud into a loop using needle-nose pliers and tweezers so that the cap and bead do not fall off the stud. Then we put a bead and a cap on another nail and pass the free end through the loop of the previously prepared element. We wrap the free end of the nail in a loop again. It is necessary that the loops are as similar in size and shape as possible. We continue this way until the necklace is the required length. After this we attach the clasp. And the necklace is ready to decorate you!

This is the easiest way to make a necklace.

A more complex method is to form a necklace from pearls and beads, as well as from woven jewelry from bicone using the monastic weaving technique. This necklace is a nicer design. It can be made in colors that match each other as well as the outfit.

This necklace requires the following: gold plated beads, crystal bicone and pearls, a hook and loop clasp and beaded thread in the desired shade.

The designs of the necklace, which you can make yourself, are varied.

The “Silver Path of Beads and Tila Beads” necklace looks very elegant. It is created using the St. Petersburg stitch (Russian rope) technique and will look great in the theater or at a party.

The Braided Cord of Beads necklace always looks decent. It is formed from beads of different sizes and different shades, creating an attractive design with a captivating play of color. When making a necklace, you can use harmoniously selected beads of different sizes and colors, left over from the manufacture of other designs. The American rope technique makes it easy to combine beads of different sizes and shades.

Pearl beads “Glamorous Pearls” consist of a set of jewelry (the necklace itself and the bracelet that complements it). Round beads, gradually increasing from 3 to 8 mm in diameter, woven using the openwork rope technique, form a unique, amazing necklace design. The necklace is perfectly complemented by a woven bracelet.

Since ancient times, the bracelet has been used as a decoration by different peoples of the world. It can be soft and hard. Rigid bracelets are classified into closed, springy, and hinged. Soft bracelets are divided into gliders (consisting of gliders with a hinged or springy connection), chain and braided.

The “Original” set, consisting of a necklace and earrings, with violet flowers looks fresh in the spring, after the long winter months. The predominance of purple flowers and the placement of identical violet flowers in the necklace and earrings create a unique harmony. Manufacturing is simple and quite fast.

Earrings have long been known as jewelry worn in the ears. For this purpose, special punctures are made in the earlobes. Interestingly, these were originally men's jewelry. Earrings denoted the social status of a slave or a corrupt person. Women subsequently adopted this men's fashion and began to willingly wear earrings made of precious stones, demonstrating their wealth.

Making a set of beaded necklace with a “Purple Anemone” brooch requires certain qualifications and knowledge of different weaving methods. Hand-stitched step stitches, flat herringbone stitches and ropes allow you to create a harmonious piece of jewelry for a woman using a necklace and brooch. Undoubtedly, a brooch is one of the most favorite sets of jewelry used by women.

Unlike necklaces, bracelets, and brooches, making a necklace with your own hands is very difficult. A necklace is a neck decoration in the form of a rigid hoop or chain with precious stones inserted into special frames. Making a necklace requires the use of special equipment and pre-processing of the jewelry.

Weaving technology has many methods and features.

Stringing of beads can be transverse, longitudinal, angular, or circular. There are more than a hundred weaving technologies. The simplest are loop weaving techniques, openwork mesh, openwork rounded and openwork corner weaving, mesh weaving, vertical mesh, horizontal mesh, mesh with flowers, and so on. It will take a lot of effort to master these methods professionally.

    The nuances of making jewelry

There are certain difficulties in making a pearl necklace with your own hands.

The wide distribution of precious items makes it difficult to create a truly original product. This requires deep knowledge of the material and rich imagination.

The selection of materials to ensure the uniqueness and harmony of the product is very difficult. It is difficult to make different types of jewelry from the same type of pearl. The choice of material in Russian stores is insufficient, and many questions arise regarding quality. Good material is offered by foreign stores working with Russia, but the cost increases due to delivery fees.

You must have the appropriate character and perseverance. The monotonous performance of identical actions and avoidance of even the slightest mistake are not given to everyone. Therefore, before you try to master this activity, critically evaluate your abilities.

You need to know the technique of knitting yarn products. It is quite difficult to immediately master the technique of weaving solid elements. Preliminary preparation is required.

The main thing is to have high artistic taste and a sense of harmony. It will not always be possible to completely duplicate the instructions of the craftsmen due to a shortage of materials, so it is necessary to be able to make certain changes that improve the properties of the product. But this is already given by nature, and is not learned through practice.

But there is no need to despair and be afraid. It is worth achieving success in making unique precious items, and they, in turn, will thank you by emphasizing your beauty.

Pearl is a stone that suits almost all women of any age. This is a classic that never goes out of style, but this classic can be made unique and not very expensive. How? Make it yourself.

To make pearl beads with your own hands, you don’t need much. Let's try.

    • You will need: pearls - different according to your taste (maybe a set of glass, gold, etc.), pins 3.5 cm long - more than 50 pieces, carnations 3.5 cm long - about 20 pieces, up to 20 rings (0.7 mm in diameter), metal cord holders (2 pcs.), carabiner.
    • For the base: wire - thin gold 1 meter (0.2 mm thick) and black 15 cm (1 mm). Gray and brown polyester cords - 2 and 0.45 m, respectively.
    • Tools: Pliers

    Step-by-step instructions

    1. First of all, you need to take 7 polyester cords (35 cm each) and wrap them in a bundle.
    2. Thread the clip through the tip and onto the cords.
    3. The wire must be cut with wire cutters, further than 1 cm from the clamp
    4. Bend both ends with round pliers to create an eyelet on both sides.
    5. We wind a wire (0.2 cm wide) to the cords, retreating 10–12 cm from the clamp.
    6. We string pearls onto the wire and wrap the cords with wire and beads. Do 32 turns.
    7. You can thread a gold and glass bead along the pin, and a stud on the last one. We cut off all the ends.
    8. We make ears on each bead. We grab the tip of the pins and nail with round pliers and wrap it until it stops.
    9. Having opened the eye of the pearl, we attach the eye of the pin to it with a glass pearl. Add the remaining beads to the second ear of the glass pearl. We attach this chain of pearls with a ring to the center of the decoration.
    10. We add five pearls to pins, and attach one to a nail. We make ears on them and attach them to each other. We fasten the chain to the base with a ring, stepping back a little from the attached chain.
    11. We make 7 chains of gold and 8 of glass pearls (as you like). We attach the structure to the base.
    12. We make the lock using a ring on one side and a ring with a carabiner on the other.

Master class: how to make pearl beads with your own hands?

And this video shows how beads are collected in Hong Kong. Let's learn from professionals :)

This way we get very original and unusual jewelry without spending much time and money. Buying such beads would be much more expensive. Their price on average varies from 900 rubles and above.

It is also quite possible to repair pearl beads yourself. If the lock is broken, you can use the same one from another piece of jewelry or buy it at a jewelry store. It is easy to replace a broken line with another, it is just important not to lose the pearls.

Thus, your imagination and desire can work wonders, and your jewelry box will always have a large selection of unique, original and priceless jewelry!

It is about these subtleties and everything that I gleaned from my recent experience that I am going to tell you. And then it’s up to you. A little imagination, a minimum of effort - and a new original jewel will add to your collection. And if you like pearls as much as I do, then perhaps these self-assembled beads will become your favorite.

So, it all started with the fact that I really wanted to buy. Moreover, I wanted to buy an expensive piece of jewelry made from natural pearls. So that at the same time it is original and unusual, with a twist. The standard classic string of pearls looking at you from every shop window did not suit me. Firstly, the pearl beads that are offered to us in most jewelry stores are the so-called “chokers” - short necklaces up to 40 cm long, which must definitely be worn with evening dresses. I wanted a universal decoration. Pearls go well with jeans and sportswear. In addition, the “neck” length visually makes the neck shorter, and this is not my option.

In general, I wanted a long thread, at least 90 cm. Such beads can be worn in one or two folds. Or you can tie it in a knot, as Chanel herself did. They are slimming. You can wear them under a sweater or with a long dress. Or you can wrap it around your hand in the form of a bracelet. This thing is multifunctional. In short, I knew exactly what I needed. The only trouble is that the choice among pearl beads of this length, as a rule, was limited to a couple of options. Moreover, the quality of pearls in such products left much to be desired. As if it’s impossible to have both long and large pearls?

Having spent time shopping in real stores to no avail, I turned to virtual ones. The assortment here was much wider, but I still couldn’t decide on a final purchase. Until one day, quite by accident, I came across the website of an online store, where you could buy not a finished pearl product, but simply a certain number of pearls. After thinking a little and remembering how my sister and I loved to string beads as children, I took the plunge and ordered the one I liked with delivery to my city.

By the way, the store also offers pick-up, and in addition to natural pearls, here you can choose silver fittings, Swarovski crystals, and many others. We didn't have to wait long. At exactly the agreed time, I held in my hands a neat box delivered by the courier, the contents of which did not disappoint me. Everything I ordered looked exactly the same as on the website, if not better! I was also quite pleased with the fact that they added a few extra pearls as a bonus, as well as locks (which I didn’t order! but are cute).

Naturally, first of all, I checked the pearls for naturalness. There are many ways to do this check. All of them are described many times on the Internet. I will only say that you need to pay attention to the weight: artificial pearls are noticeably lighter than natural ones. And, most importantly, you just need to rub one pearl against another. If they are real, you will hear a characteristic creaking sound. Surfaces grind against each other with a grinding sound. For the same purpose, some people advise trying it “to the teeth”... I couldn’t resist this stupid test either - it hurt.

But I digress from the topic. Here they are, the promised secrets of assembling an exclusive necklace:

    • You definitely need to string it on a jewelry cable, the length of which is 10 cm longer than the length of the future jewelry. In this case, it will look as beautiful and neat as something made by a real jeweler. And no amateur performances. A thread or fishing line will ruin the most beautiful pearls.
    • You should immediately choose a reliable clasp, preferably silver. And you won't have to reassemble your beads if they break.
    • To make the decoration as original and unique as possible, you can use silver removable pendants, like the ones I ordered for mine. Such elements are easy to change, and your beads will look new every time.

That's all, actually. Stringing the beads took me no more than half an hour. And most of the time I was looking at the pearls. First one, then the other. Large white pearls with a subtle bluish tint. I have never seen anything like this in ready-made jewelry.
