Playa Pilar- located on the very outskirts of the island of Cayo Guillermo - this is truly one of the most beautiful beaches in Cuba, named after Hemingway's boat Pilar - since the writer loved to fish and stayed on this island - even before it became a tourist mecca. Previously, these islands had access only to fishermen with a special license from the state. And now, thanks to the embankment dam leading from " big land"Anyone with a car can get here. Pilar beach does not belong to any hotel, so access to it is free. And all guests are greeted by the beach with the whitest fine sand, the clearest azure sea with fish and starfish under their feet. And where the beach ends and the rocks begin, all snorkeling lovers will find something interesting for themselves undersea world Atlantic Ocean.

But for many, one of the most important will be the beautiful Cuban beaches. Huge areas of untouched white sand, warm weather and turquoise water welcome tourists all year round, as average temperature rarely falls below 21 degrees Celsius. No matter which part of the country you choose for your holiday, you are guaranteed to enjoy your time at the beach.

Fine THERE I am ready to present for you a list of the best sandy beaches that are worth visiting while you are in Cuba.

Not so much foreign tourists visit Cayo Jutias beach, which is located west of Viñales. Come here to eat lobster, drink rum and watch Cubans have fun on the beach.

3. Playa Pilar

Lots of people check into the big hotels on Cayo Coco, but far fewer choose to go to Cayo Guillermo. Although it's much quieter, you'll have no trouble finding a spot to soak up the sun at Playa Pilar.

An interesting fact is that the beach is named after the yacht of the writer Ernest Hemingway, since he often came here while on the island

Cayo Santa Maria Beach, quite popular among honeymooners, is a delightful place on the northern coast of Cuba. Long, picturesque sandy beaches are famous places for swimming, snorkeling and watching the sunsets, which are said to be particularly impressive. At the westernmost point of Cuba lies this stunning palm-fringed beach, favorite place divers. He was named one of ten best places for diving throughout Latin America.

7. Guardalavaca

Guardalavaca is a typical example of a classic Cuban beach: swaying palm trees, kilometers of white sand and clear blue sea. A cluster of small cafes, bars and a noisy street market are only minor distractions from the immensity sandy sea, which is said to be much less cluttered with algae. Vacationers can walk for several hours without reaching the edge of the beach, making it an excellent choice for those looking to relax, replenish energy and get closer to nature.

8. Playa Sirena

An excellent 3-kilometer beach - the only one on the island with perfect palm trees. Almost all hotels organize ferry and bus transportation to this point of the peninsula, which is located at western peak Cayo Largo. The harbor, shared by hotels, has a restaurant, bar and full range of aquatic species sports, including diving, snorkeling and all kinds of boat rentals from kayaks to catamarans. If the beach is crowded, you can arrange a boat to take you to nearby, deserted islands such as Cayo Rico and Cayo Iguana.

9. Playa Giron

Playa Giron beach is not much different from other small beaches in Cuba, it has the same coral sand and turquoise waters that are covered with wonderful reefs. But what makes it truly special is witnessing how Cuban people over the years, was the victim of various attacks, which he fought off so desperately.

The first attack occurred at the beginning of the 17th century by a group of pirates under the command of Drake. The result was the beheading of the pirate by the inhabitants for attempting to capture him. Because of this, the Cubans decide to preserve the memory by baptizing the beach after the pirate Guiron.

Just five kilometers from the city of Guardalavaca in the eastern part of Cuba, this beautiful beach is located. If you want to pamper yourself, there are two luxury hotels that are great place for accommodation. Among the amenities, you will find delicious food, drinks, water sports, as well as see the best sunrises and take unforgettable walks.

Playa Esmeralda beach, Cuba

Pilar Beach is one of the most impressive beaches not only in Cuba, but throughout Caribbean! This pristine beach is located on the northwestern tip of Cayo Guillermo. Not far from Playa Pilar you can see Sayo Media Luna, a small island located about 2 km from the coast. Pilar Beach on Cayo Guiermo is about 1 km long and faces north. It is covered in powdery white sand and its shallow, calm waters are ideal for swimming. This is one of the best swimming spots in Cuba.

At Pilar Beach you will find the following amenities and services:
1. Ranch type restaurant (beach bar and grill), where you can enjoy a cold beer or cocktail, as well as a delicious lunch affordable price.
2. A beach bar called Coco Loco that serves all sorts of cocktails, including the Saoco (served in a green coconut, it's a refreshing lager drink made with coconut water, soda, rum and ice).
3. Sun loungers for rent. One sun lounger costs 2 CUC per day, but you can rent two sun loungers under an umbrella for 10 CUC per day. Please note that Pilar Beach has no natural shade, so an umbrella may come in handy. By the way, this 10 CUC also includes 3 free drinks.
4. Water sports center, where you can rent various equipment or order some water fun. This center also offers a trip to the islet Cayo Media Luna, where you can snorkel. The cost of the trip is 25 CUC per person, including snorkeling equipment.
5. Observation tower.
6. Showers.

Many services have appeared here only recently. Currently available pedestrian bridge 130 meters long from the parking lot to the beach, making access to the beach easier, especially for people with limited mobility.

How to get to Pilar Beach

This beach is a short walk from the Iberostar Playa Pilar (about 1 km). If you are staying at another hotel, you can rent a car or scooter, take a taxi to the beach, take a tourist bus called the Jardines del Rey Bus Tour, or buy a special excursion from a tour operator. It seems to me that the ideal option is to travel by tourist bus. Pilar Beach is the last stop of this bus and the ticket costs 5 CUC for the whole day. That is, you can ride this bus several times during one day.

Ranchon Playa Pilar

As mentioned above, there is a grill restaurant on Pilar Beach that offers delicious seafood, fish and grilled meats. This is the largest and by far the most visited private ranchon in the Jardines del Rey archipelago. It is located at the northwestern end of Cayo Guillermo, on one of Cuba's most spectacular beaches, Playa Pilar.
This restaurant is run by the Cuban group Palmares, which offers other services on the beach, including a beach bar called Coco Loco, as well as sun lounger and umbrella rentals.
Food prices in Rancho Playa Pilar are relatively low. For example, a dish of half a lobster, shrimp and fish costs 15 to 20 CUC, while a whole lobster costs 15 to 20 CUC. Shrimp are offered here for 8-10 CUC, squid - 5-6 CUC, fried chicken or pork - 4-5 CUC, grilled fish - 5-6 CUC, hamburger - 2-3 CUC, beer and soft drinks - 1 CUC , rum - 1.5 CUC.

The countdown to “departure” has begun. During this time, you need to swim as much as possible, sunbathe and enjoy your vacation, which is what we did, thank God the weather contributed to this.

In the evening, after dinner, the evening party began ( night life) As I said, I give the animation in the hotel 5+. they didn't rest for a minute. After dinner there were various shows around the pool.
another group sang and entertained in our favorite bar near the reception...
And the main show began at half past nine, on the main stage. There were theme nights every day. very diverse and interesting. We liked it so much that we went every evening (except the first)
Here are photos of several evenings.
This is the theme "Meeting of Nations" Latin America" (Something like that..

Romantic evening...

There were also "History of Cuba"..." "Caribbean Nights"....

At the end of the show there is a disco.
the people there were having a blast. We are not big fans, so we went to the bar and got high in our own way. We drank champagne and just listened to music. Some vacationers brought a guitar with them, a small group gathered and sang, it was also fun.
Playa Pilar
Our island had one of the most beautiful beaches in Cuba. We considered it unacceptable to miss the opportunity to visit there, so one morning we went to the reception and found out that the bus to this beach goes at about 9 am.. Exactly around. That's how I found out. In short, we were late for the bus, of course, but we couldn’t change our plans. We called a taxi and got to the beach comfortably in 10 minutes and 5 cookies.
The taxi driver tried for a long time to persuade us to wait as long as necessary. The beach was somewhere behind a hill, we didn’t see it, so I decided to go and see if there was any point in staying here at all. Climbing the hill, an amazing picture opened up to my eyes, then I noticed a restaurant on the shore, so I returned and let the driver go. Obviously I'll stay here longer.
What can I say about Pilar...but you can’t say anything, you have to see it.

I've been to a lot of places and am always looking for the perfect beach. This beach is my first choice today. I have never seen anything more beautiful. The water was some unrealistically blue color and plus it sparkled like crystal. The sand is snow-white, like powdered sugar. When you swim and look down, you feel like you are in a pool with a blue bottom, the sand under the water is blue... Some kind of mysticism.

Under the slide there are places to relax with sun loungers and a canopy. Opposite the beach is the island where Batista's house used to be. He knew where to build... the lip is not a fool.

The day was very hot, it was even hot to swim, but I really didn’t want to get out of the water.

Then a cart appeared with a man making a mojito. What else does?
Mojito, by the way, was also the most delicious of the whole trip.
By two o'clock we were completely stunned by the sunshine, it was decided not to stay here for lunch, but still return to the hotel, especially since people also began to gather. It turns out that this was just the time when the bus arrived to deliver to the hotels. It's not even a bus, it's a train. We boarded the train and headed towards the hotels. Cool, but not as comfortable as in a taxi, and longer and for the same 5 cookies.
This is how our 5 days flew by on K. Guillermo, and so did our rest.
On our last evening we booked a restaurant.
The restaurant, to be honest, is gorgeous... Everything was prepared at the highest level, the service... well, just like in the most expensive Kyiv restaurants. Everything is great. And what a sunset!
It's hard to imagine a better place for a farewell party.
It was an amazing evening. We remembered the trip, planned a new one...
The music was impressive, classics and hits from the 80s. Some are so forgotten that you had to take a camera and just “shoot” - record music.
The next day we went out to say goodbye to the sea.
The last ritual, toss the coins...we went out onto the bridge, probably it’s here specifically for this. And then I saw a lot of fish below, it turns out there is a snorkel here!!! But it’s too late for Sonya to drink Borjomi, when the plane is in 3 hours...
The suitcases are already packed.
Then the road to the island of Cayo Coco where the airport is located. (In the construction of which, by the way, Diego participated)
The airport is small, but very decent. There was still a flight, the plane was throwing around, and we also got the last seats.
everything I managed to remove...

Diego met us at the airport, not just himself, but with his wife. It was a very pleasant acquaintance. There was still time before departure and we stopped at a restaurant near the airport.
Then check-in for the flight. Seeing the crowd standing there, I was simply shocked. We arrived 3 hours before, and registration was already in full swing. Naturally, we were the very last in line. The prospect of being in different places and of course at the end...
Then Natalia, Diego’s wife, came to the rescue. I found some acquaintances and they took us through business registration, without a queue and with good places at first.
Sad moments of parting. Going to passport control I once again turned to look at the familiar faces of Diego and Natalia (after all, Diego talked so much about her during the trip).
Of course I started crying again. This is probably becoming a good tradition, crying when leaving Cuba. But these were different tears. I knew that I would definitely return here.

"Little Cayejon Hamel is an alley whose walls are painted by a man who is idolized by his fans in Havana. They call him Salvador, but I still don’t understand whether “Salvador” is his first or last name. I don’t undertake to describe his black modernism, but he himself, if he is a black man, but no more than 20 percent. Along and across the paintings he wrote his aphorisms and poems, and a small orchestra plays his music in the African style. From Salvador’s aphorisms:
"Heaven and earth are in love with each other."
