How to check the readiness of a patent: step by step instructions
A patent is a document that allows foreign citizens to work on the territory of the Russian Federation. In addition, some local entrepreneurs use the patent system of taxation in Russia: it is easier to pay taxes to the state this way. Patent readiness plays an important role. Ideally, when ordering a document, you can find out at any time whether it is ready. But how to do that? In fact, everything is not as difficult as it seems.
Verification methods
The readiness of a patent can be checked in several ways. Usually, after a citizen submits a request for a document, he will have to connect SMS informing. When a patent is ready, a notification will be sent to the mobile device. But that is not all.
How can I check the readiness of a patent? There are three options in total:

SMS informing
As already mentioned, a person will be informed about the readiness of the document via SMS. This innovation has greatly facilitated the life of citizens. 
When submitting an application for the issuance / renewal of a patent, it is necessary to indicate in it a valid mobile phone number. And then - wait. As soon as the patent is ready, the person will receive an SMS message with a request to come to the FMS with a passport in order to pick up the document.
But what if the person doesn't have a phone? Or did he suddenly change his number? And sometimes, for one reason or another, SMS does not come at all. Therefore, you need to keep in mind alternative ways to find out about the readiness of a patent.
Personal visit to the FMS
You can personally go to the FMS at the place of registration of a citizen and find out all the information of interest. What to do in this case:
- Take a passport and go to the FMS at the place of registration/registration.
- Contact the employees of the registration authority with a request to provide information about the readiness of the document.
- Name the full name, series and number of the passport. You can just show your ID.
Employees will check the readiness of the document according to the available information base. However, sometimes employees refuse to deal with this issue, referring to the presence of SMS informing. Therefore, this method is not always effective. However, you can find out about the readiness of the patent through the Internet.

Regional FMS has specialized services. Consider obtaining information about the readiness of a patent using the example of Moscow. Other regions will have to act in a similar way.
The instruction for checking the readiness of the document under study looks something like this:
- Apply for the manufacture or renewal of a patent.
- Go to mc.mos.ru website.
- Click on the "Find out the readiness of the patent" button.
- Enter the patent application number in the designated field. It is issued to the FMS after a written request from a citizen.
- Enter the verification code in the field below.
- Click on the "Check" button.
A few minutes of waiting - and the corresponding inscription about the readiness of the document will appear on the screen. In fact, everything is much simpler than it seems.
According to the passport
Now on the Internet there are a huge number of various third-party services for checking this or that information. You can easily find out if the document is ready according to its owner. For example, according to the passport. 
Such verification services require the following actions:
- Go to the page with the form to implement the idea in life.
- Enter in the special fields the passport data of the citizen-recipient.
- Click on the "Check"/"Find" button.
After that, information about the readiness of the patent or any other selected document will appear on the screen. Sometimes such resources require a citizen to pay for the issuance of relevant information.
Beware: scammers!
If this happens, you must immediately abandon the services of the online service and in no case transfer funds for using the site. The thing is, this is a scam site. They are just trying to cash in on gullible and unsuspecting users.
You should immediately pay attention to the fact that checking the readiness of a patent is a free service. Usually it is provided on the websites of the FMS of certain settlements. No money is charged for it. The same applies to SMS-informing - the message is free.
What do you need to get a patent
As soon as the readiness of the patent is confirmed (in Moscow and not only), it will be possible to come to the FMS and receive the corresponding document. But for this you need to take a certain list of papers with you.
To be more precise, the following documents are required to obtain a patent:
- passport;
- receipt of payment of the state fee for the renewal / production of a patent;
- tear-off coupon on registration with the migration service.
