Is it possible to check migration cards at customs? How to verify the authenticity of the migration card

When entering the Russian Federation, foreign citizens often become victims of fraud, as they agree to offers to purchase fake migration cards. These documents are easy to falsify, and to determine their authenticity in the process of visual inspection is almost impossible. However, real migration cards always have unique details (series and number) that are stored in the database of the Federal migration service. It is for these details you can verify the authenticity of such documents. There are two possible ways to check: reference (using a special service) and official (associated with the need to contact the division of the FMS of the Russian Federation).

How to verify the authenticity of the migration card remotely?

The simplest and quickest method of authentication migration card  is a visit to the official site of the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation. This site supports the operation of a number of information services, one of which makes it possible to compare the details of a document received by an alien with a database. To check, it is enough to go to the “Information Services” section from the main page of the website of this state body, open and fill out a special form (you will need a series and number of the migration card). The information obtained as a result of using this method is for reference only, which users are warned about in advance, but in most cases the information is reliable.

How to officially verify the authenticity of the migration card?

A more difficult task is to obtain official information on the authenticity of the migration card. This will require treatment in the nearest division of the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation with the appropriate statement. Foreign citizens themselves avoid using this method because they are afraid of being held accountable for being on the territory of the Russian Federation without legal grounds. However, in this case the applicant is guaranteed to receive an official and unequivocal answer about the authenticity of the migration card. An alternative is a phone call to the Federal Migration Service for a specific region of the country, but this method also does not guarantee a clear answer, since the information will be purely for reference only, and if anonymously applied, it may be refused.

When various real estate transactions - buying, selling, renting - can not do without documents confirming the right of the owner of this property. However, in the current unstable situation, it would not be superfluous to check authenticity  documents of owners, making sure that they really have the right to financial operations with this apartment. How exactly to carry out such an inspection, as well as what documents should be required from the owner?

Instruction

First of all, you must be provided with a passport that confirms that the person with whom you agree on financial transactions is the same person who is listed in documentsestablishing the ownership of the apartment. In addition, ask the landlord for help from the psycho-neurological and substance-use dispensary and take an extended extract from the house book.

This statement can be obtained in a single settlement center, if you are a confidant of the tenant. It can also be taken by the tenant himself.

Take a copy of the financial and personal account to verify the authenticity of the technical information about the acquired housing, as well as to obtain information about the registration in the apartment. Make sure that all tenants of the apartment participated in its privatization.

Ask the owner of the apartment to take an extended statement for you from the Unified State Register of Real Estate Rights, and also do not forget to talk with the neighbors of the owner of the apartment - they can tell you a lot about the person with whom you are making a deal, as well as about his apartment.

Once the package of documents is prepared, you can send it to the territorial office of the FMS for consideration. The inspector of the department will check the correctness of filling and authenticity of the documents, make sure that this foreign citizen  any problems in the country. If all the necessary conditions are met, a renewal mark will be put on the migration card.

A migration card is a document that is filled in by foreign nationals when crossing the border of any state. This card provides the right to enter the territory of Russia. It also serves as a permits for finding in the country and the basis for obtaining a labor patent.

Migration card issued on the border by border guards. A foreigner is obliged to fill it in block letters, and provide all reliable information about yourself.

This is the form of the migration card of Russia

But since this card serves as one of the main documents authorizing a stay in the Russian Federation, many foreign nationals often doubt its authenticity. If you suspect that the paper is tampered with, you can check the authenticity of the migration card.

In appearance, it is impossible to verify the migration card, since there are no special identification marks on the document except for the FMS seal. But even this seal cannot serve as a sign of the authenticity of the migration card.

You can verify the authenticity of the migration card only by a unique number, which is assigned to each document.

Location of the migration card number on the form

You can verify authenticity in several ways:

  1. By making a phone call to the migration authority.
  2. By applying to the migration service.
  3. Through the site of the migration service.

The first way is to call the FMS authority and indicate the number and series of the identity card (the details of the document with which the person passed the border and on the basis of which filled out the card are indicated). After providing the data will have to wait a few minutes. The operator of the migration service will verify the accuracy of this information, and answer whether the document is real.

The second method is a personal visit to the migration service body with the aim of submitting an application to determine the authenticity of the document. Apply at the place of registration. After filing the petition will need to wait a little. The applicant will receive a response in writing on the official letterhead of the organization.

The third way is to check through the portal. Check in this way is easy. It does not take much time. Verification in this way is practiced by the majority of migrants due to fear of contacting the migration service authorities.

It is also worth remembering that if, on the basis of a migration card, a foreigner has already received a patent permitting to carry out labor activity in the territory of the Russian Federation, this means that the card is valid.

Step-by-step instruction:

  • Initially, it is worth logging into the server https://www.fms.gov.ru/banner.html. This is the site of the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation.
  • On the main page, select the section “Useful Services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia”.

  • Then, go to the section "Migration Services".

  • Further, we choose one of the functions called “Executing a check on the validity of invitations for foreigners and stateless persons to enter the Russian Federation”.

  • After selecting this function, the fields for filling will open on the screen:

  1. "Invitation Number".
  2. "Series".
  3. « Number of the form ".

All fields should be filled in accordance with the migration card.

  • After filling you will need to enter the captcha. After the code is entered, you will need to click the "send request" link. The server will independently verify the data and issue a result.

Falsification of the document

Falsification of migration cards is a rare phenomenon in the Russian Federation. But, nevertheless, for the provision of a false document to a foreign national threatens punishment.  Initially, the bearer of the fake paper is delayed by the migration service, then the offender is handed over to the police to clarify the details.

Depending on the situation, the provision of a falsified document threatens to impose a fine of up to 80,000 rubles or imprisonment for up to 180 days. As well as the offender can send to work out for correctional work for two years.

If foreign nationals will be committed another violation in the territory of the Russian Federation, then he will be deported from Russia.

    • Hello Irina!
Unfortunately, there are such situations. Perhaps this is a human factor - when your data at the border is not entered into the system.
Contact the head of the migration department, let them figure it out, let them enter the database on the basis of the documents you have in your hands. The main thing is not to give them the originals, but provide copies and presenting the original, take it back. Otherwise there is a risk that the documents will also be lost.
